CH 79.

Andrianne woke up with a start as the butler, Johnson gently nudged her. She rubbed her eyes and sat up, looking disoriented.

"Good morning, Madam. I'm sorry to wake you up so early. I hope you slept well?" Johnson said, with a concerned expression.

Andrianne blinked a few times to get her bearings, and then responded, "No, Johnson. I didn't sleep well. Lucas didn't come home last night."

The butler's expression turned sympathetic. "I'm sorry to hear that, Madam. Would you like me to bring you some breakfast?"

Andrianne shook her head. "No, thank you, Johnson. I'm not hungry." She paused for a moment before asking, "Did he call? Or leave a message?"

Johnson shook his head. "I'm afraid not, Madam."

Andrianne's heart sank. She had stayed up all night waiting for Lucas to come home, and he hadn't even bothered to call or leave a message. She felt a lump form in her throat and tears started to well up in her eyes. She got up from the couch and walked to her room, her head hung low.
