Chapter Forty Six

The area around her was singed and small flames were still burning within a few feet of her, the wall before her had burn marks and had been shattered allowing Elaina to see the rock below.
"Guys." Elaina called as realization began to take over.
Something was very off about this cave and it had managed to trap them.
Standing Elaina tried to locate her friends who were most likely stuck in the same world that she had been.
It didn't take long for her to find them staring blankly into the walls of the caves their faces contorted into looks of fear or loathing.
Grabbing Charisse's shoulder Elaina first tried to break her free of the walls hold. Charisse didn't move no matter how hard Elaina shook, instead she remained transfixed to the wall ahead.
Cursing Elaina moved onto Chase trying to rouse him.

Elaina tumbled out of the air landing hard on her injured back. The sky above was full of clouds and thunder had begun to rumble as lightening streaked across the sky.Gasping Elaina remained in place staring straight ahead as the vision of her parents continued to dancing around in her mind.Closing her eyes she could feel tears threatening to form. She had promised herself and Chase that she absolutely would not cry again and she intended to keep it that way. Forcing them back she tried to think of something else."Elaina!" "CHARISSE!" Elaina screamed as her friend remained motionless and devoid of all color on the ground in front of her. "No, Charisse you can't go. No."Tears were beginning to pour down Elaina's cheeks. Fire balls were still falling from the sky, but she didn't care in the slightest. Elaina didn't know how long she remained in Chase's embrace as she sobbed and mourned the loss of her friend. A small moan escaped Elaina's mouth as Chase's hands began venturing up her shirt to touch the tender flesh beneath it. She couldn't help but wonder if this meant that she died when she fell, really there was no other explanation."Welcome." Elaina woke earlier than Chase the next morning. Sounds of people beginning their day could be heard just out in the hallway as she quickly searched for her clothes. After Chase had fallen asleep the night before, Elaina had made a decision and now she planned on setting that choice into action. Fully dressed she looked to Chase once more before quickly rushing out of the room.As Elaina made her way through the bunkard she ignored the glares that she recieved from the few warriors that were roaming about. Their looks of disgust and distrust no longer mattered to her, after all she was leaving this place anyway.Waving she quickened her pace and hurried up the stairs and out into the open air beyond.The sky remained a bloody red above as ash had begun to fall. Taking in the scene Elaina strengthened her resolve. She was no longer going to wait around for Rathial to come to her, instead she was going to go to him.
