A small moan escaped Elaina's mouth as Chase's hands began venturing up her shirt to touch the tender flesh beneath it.  Even though she knew that this was not the time or place for anything, she couldn't seem to stop herself from wanting to feel his touch over every inch of her skin.

Elaina had spent months denying Chase, pushing him away again and again, she had even insisted that she didn't need companionship or love, but now that she was facing her own possible end she found herself not wanting to die without experiencing the full extent of being loved by someone.

"Chase...." Elaina gasped pulling her mouth away from Chase's.

Chase stared back at her with lust filled eyes as she gave his chest a soft shove.

"I want to say something." She said now as he attempted to move in for another kiss.

"What is it?" Chase asked looking slightly curious.

Taking a moment to get her thoughts together Elaina remained quiet before taking a deep brea

Chase grumbled trying to turn over."Sounds like we've got trouble." Elaina announced jumping out of bed and quickly throwing her clothes back on. "Lets go."Pulling Chase up Elaina shoved his clothes at him so he could get dressed before they both rushed out of the room and out into the halls that were filled with warriors running around and shouting."What happened?" Elaina asked grabbing one man's arm.Glaring he let out a grunt, "Dark warriors, we are under attack."Nodding Elaina let go and allowed him to continue on his way. It seemed that Rathial was growing impatient by bringing his forces to them.Feeling her adrenaline beginning to pump Elaina left Chase behind as she hurried into the fray determined to get out and fight. Many

Elaina awoke in a lush green field filled with wild flowers. Eyes widening she realized that she was laying in the inbetween. She couldn't help but wonder if this meant that she died when she fell, really there was no other explanation."Welcome." Came a deep voice that seemed to be coming from all directions.Looking around Elaina tried to find the source of the voice. It seemed that she was alone, but then who had spoken to her?"It was me." Came the voice again this time sounding much closer."Who is me?" Elaina demanded continuing to look around. "Me, did I die?"She wasn't sure if she wanted to know the answer to that question, but it was something she did need to know. If she had died then that meant that she hadn't fulfilled the prophecy that had been set for her."I'm afraid you did die child." Came the voice once more.Looking straight ahead Elaina spotted a whispy mist that was beginning to take

"But first...." Ezra continued snapping Elaina out of her excitement. "I would like to tell you a story.""A story?" Elaina asked confused. Was right now even the time to be telling a story? Her friends and comrades were on the losing end of a war, time was of the essence."Don't worry, they will be fine until I am done." Ezra assured her. "This story is important and one that you need to hear.""Why do I need to hear a story?" Elaina asked not quite understanding. "Will it tell me anything about how to win this war?"Ezra shook his head, "However, it is a story of a young girl who was born with a predestined fate. Even before her birth everything had been decided for her." Ezra began. "Long ago when the world was full of war and despair this girl was born. It was on the day of her birth that the heavens spoke and said that she would be the savior of all mankind. A young child that possessed both

Elaina sat alone beside the well that had shown her what was happening with the war back on earth with her head spinning. She wasn't able to wrap her mine around the fact Ezra had told her that she was a reincarnation born only for the sole purpose of finishing the war and defeating the darkness.Even though Rathial had told her something similar he hadn't mentioned the reincarnation portion of the story. It had left her feeling as if instead of being a person she was simple a tool used to a means of an end."Have you decided whether or not you want to hear how to go back and help them?" Ezra asked after remaining silent long enough for Elaina to process everything."You said that there would be a price to pay if I were to do it right?" Elaina asked quietly. "What is the price.""Your humanity." Ezra admitted. "You may go back, but you will no longer be human.""What do you mean?" Elaina asked feeling her heart squeeze.

Pulling away Elaina looked into Chase's eyes catching the slight reflection of a white haired creature with red eyes and black wings springing forth from her back. Confused she looked closer realizing that she was looking at herself."Do I scare you?" Elaina asked Chase after seeing herself. "Am I scary?""Of course not." Chase responded touching Elaina's cheek. "You could never be scary."Elaina nodded slowly as she turned her attention to the light warriors who had stepped forward ready to attack her. Narrowing her gaze she took in their determined gazes in annoyance, even if Chase wasn't afraid of her they clearly were."I scare them." Elaina said now nodding towards the warriors.Looking over Chase quickly pulled Elaina behind him. "She isn't your enemy!" He called blocking her from view."Chase, you need to move." Called one who had gotten too close for comfort. "What do you think you're doing protect

Smirking she allowed them to come mere inches from her before extending her wings and sending them flying."Too cocky." She laughed grabbing hold of one and slamming him down against her knee snapping his spine. "Want to continue trying?"A few of the dark warriors began to look uneasy, but their commander ordered them to move in again and they had no choice but to obey."Bad choice." Elaina laughed batting her wings and sending them flying into a crevice in the earth.Screams erupted as they connected with the lava and it was like a beautiful song to Elaina's ears."Elaina!" The next day came in a blaze of red and orange, the sky above had completely lost its blue hue and was left with a red tint as if reflecting all the blood that was being spilt around them. Looking up Elaina squinted her eyes as she spotted what looked like ash beginning to fall."Ash storm?" She murmured holding out a hand and allowing some of the grey substance to land on her palm. "The end is getting nearer."Beside her Chase sucked in a harsh breath, "What did you say?""When the sky turns red and ash begins to fall to the earth, the dark lord will take his rightful place, and the whole world will be rebuilt in chaos." Elaina recited. "Ash is beginning to fall, the sky has turned red, and the earth has begun to break apart. We are running out of time.""Did Ezra give you any advice on what to do?" "You took people that were precious from me!"Elaina could feel the fire within her growing as she spoke of Charisse and her parents. "You did well child." Ezra's soft voice floated to Elaina as she hovered peacefully in the darkness. "But now is not your time to leave.""What do you mean?" Elaina asked looking around only to find emptiness. "I've already died.""Your human self died." Ezra corrected. "Your dark self has not." He continued."But I'm so tired." Elaina sighed as she felt herself slipping again."Child, I still have something to ask of you." Ezra continued drawing Elaina's attention to him."What's that?" Elaina asked."I need you to lead the underworld now." Ezra said carefully. "With Rathial gone there is no one to take his place, except you of course.""What do you mean?" Elaina demanded. "How could I possibly do something like that? What about my friends and Chase?"Laughing Ezra began to take form as Elaina's darkness turned to the lush green flower field again. Rathial snarled at Elaina as she began to move towards him. Behind her lay a pile of dead dark warriors that hadn't been able to hold their own against the infuriated Elaina."So glad to see you coward." Elaina beamed as she continued moving forward. "Thought you'd be safe hiding down here did you?"Feeling her rage building Elaina lunged at Rathial slashing her sword towards his chest. Easily dodging Rathial cackled as Elaina righted herself ready for the next attack."What do you expect to do letting your anger get the best of you?" Rathial taunted. "You came here looking to easily die didn't you."Snapping his fingers he tried to use his power against Elaina, but it didn't work. With her human self gone she was now immune to any and all dark powers, after all she was amongst the dark herself now."That trick won't work on me this time." It was Elaina's turn to laugh.Caught off guard Rathial didn't have

Elaina woke earlier than Chase the next morning. Sounds of people beginning their day could be heard just out in the hallway as she quickly searched for her clothes. After Chase had fallen asleep the night before, Elaina had made a decision and now she planned on setting that choice into action. Fully dressed she looked to Chase once more before quickly rushing out of the room.As Elaina made her way through the bunkard she ignored the glares that she recieved from the few warriors that were roaming about. Their looks of disgust and distrust no longer mattered to her, after all she was leaving this place anyway.Waving she quickened her pace and hurried up the stairs and out into the open air beyond. The sky remained a bloody red above as ash had begun to fall. Taking in the scene Elaina strengthened her resolve. She was no longer going to wait around for Rathial to come to her, instead she was going to go to him.

"What's going on?" Christopher asked as Elaina and Chase entered the room. He had been lounging on his bed reading through a book on mythical creatures when they arrived. "Why is Elaina here?""Are you using that to learn more about yourself?" Elaina asked ignoring Christopher's questions and snatching the book to examine it. "Look up abaasy.""I know." Christopher huffed taking the book back. "Why are you here?""I wanted to talk to her alone." Chase said giving Christopher a pointed look.Taking the hint Christopher grudgingly got up and stomped towards the door. Giving Chase an annoyed glance he walked out slamming the door behind him."Was that really necessary?" Elaina asked keeping her gaze fixed on the door. "Does he not know about your parents?""Not many know." Chase admitted before motioning for Elaina to have a seat. "It happened so long ago that the younger warrior's weren't old enough to

Elaina didn't know if she should be thankful for her new quick healing ability or be sad since it meant that she truly no longer was a human."If I fought back would it make them trust me?" Elaina asked instead catching Samantha off guard."Would you be able to earn their trust if you died?" Samantha countered shoving a stitch through a particularly severe wound on Elaina's shoulder."I can't die again Samantha." Elaina pointed out.Frowning she tried to come to terms with the fact that she couldn't even feel the needle going through her skin, Elaina let out a long breath."You don't know that for sure."
