Alex and Logan were too busy fighting off the men we hadn’t planned to encounter while our army kept deteriorating by the second.

Unlike me, they’d easily gotten over their initial shock and thrown themselves all into the battle again. But I was too busy hating myself for endangering them because I’d foolishly believed the lies of this traitorous bitch before me instead of trusting Scarlett’s guts.

“I should’ve let you die, you fucking snake,” I pointed an accusing finger at Wathoni who was pointing a gun at me, “I should’ve let you bleed out on my doorstep while begging for mercy until you crawled back to hell where you rightfully belong,” I spat hatefully, my entire body filling with heat.

She grinned, fondling with the trigger of the gun in her hand. It was similar to the one the men jumping out from the underground tunnels had so I knew that if she shot at me, I’d turn to ashes in a second, but that didn’t stop me from speaking my mind.
