STUCK IN LOVE

Five hundred years ago, the witches were ruled by the vampires which made them inferior to the blood sucking creatures. They lived together with the vampires in grey city but they were treated as slaves. Things changed for them when a new king of the vampires was crowned. The witch queen at that time consulted the King and made a request for the king to give her people their independence which was later granted by the king. Thus, he gave the witches grey forest for them to reside. From that moment, grey forest had been the witches territory.

Connor arrived grey forest at dusk. He stood at the entrance of grey forest,staring at the beautiful scenery in front of him. It had been a long time he had come to grey forest, now that he was here,he realised how much he had missed this place. 'No, you probably missed a particular person staying here the most.' His subconscious teased him.

The witches guarding the entrance gate slightly bowed when they saw Connor. They were surprised to see one of the vampire princes here at their humble home. They had not seen him for a long time and now he made a surprise visit to them, they couldn't help but wonder why he was here.

"I'm here to see Dana." He informed them.

One of the witches quickly rushed to inform their queen about their guest and when the queen gave them her permission, they allowed him in.

Connor entered the witch queen chamber, he spotted Dana pouring a tea in a cup. He stood there, staring at Dana. She was putting on a peach long gown which match her fair skin, her long black hair gracefully rested on her waist. She wasn't even wearing make ups but she looked absolutely gorgeous. Of course it was Dana, the most beautiful lady he had ever seen. He had missed her, he had missed her so badly that he was barely restraining himself from rushing to her, pulling her closer to him and showering kisses all over her.

"Why are you standing there? Won't you take a seat?" Dana said distracting his thoughts.

Connor took his seat but his eyes didn't leave her face, his eyes stayed glued to her that Dana couldn't help but flush deeply at how he was staring at her.

"What brings you here?" She asked, avoiding his gaze.

"Is that the first thing you should ask after not seeing me for years?" Dana gripped her gown when she heard Connor's question. Connor paused for a while waiting for a reply from her but when he got none, he continued. "Do you know how worried i was waiting for you? I thought i had offended you probably that was why you stopped seeing me. I tried so hard to contact you but you kept avoiding me. Why did you do that? Why did you stop seeing me all of a sudden? Don't you think i deserve to know the reason for the sudden change?"

"I doubt you came here to ask about that." Dana said in the most crude manner.

Connor sighed as an inaudible curse escaped his mouth, he bit his lower lip as he struggled to keep a composed manner before his emotions got the best of him. "Dana." He called her name in a low whisper that was audible enough for her to hear him. "Damon instructed me to bring you to him."

"Damon?" Dana couldn't help but wonder why the demon would ask for her.

"He needs your help on something." Connor replied as if reading her thoughts.

"Okay, I'll leave before dawn. You can leave." Dana said getting up from her seat.

"I'll come to pick you at dawn."

"No, i can go there by myself." She immediately retorted.

"Are you trying to avoid me?" Connor asked as he stood up, moving close to Dana.

"Don't come closer." She warned moving backward.

Connor stopped on his track as he stared at Dana. "What are you going to do? If i take a step closer to you, what are you going to do?"

Dana swallowed hard. This man, he was trying to tempt her to do what she didn't want to do. She had avoided him, she had ran away from him because they were just too impossible, they were forbidden. She had avoided him for years thinking she was over him, thinking her love for him already died. She had built huge walls around herself guilding her from this oh so forbidden love but with him here, with her merely looking at him, she could feel her walls crumbling. She thought if he came a step closer to her she might find herself running to him because she was still stuck in love, no, they were both stuck in love. She had sworn never to go back to him for the sake of her people and herself. She knew the dangers of a witch and a vampire being together and she didn't want to be a queen that would bring calamities to her people so she had to push him away, she had to bury this forbidden love, no matter how much she missed him, she had to push him far away from her.

"Don't try to do anything reckless Connor, please just leave."

Another inaudible curse was heard, Connor gritted his teeth as he tried to fight back his emotions. Her reply seemed to make him wage war with himself again on whether to just leave or still hold onto her. He saw the look on Dana's face, a look that wanted him out of her sight and that was when he realised he was probably the only one still stuck in love.
