CHAPTER TWO

Lunch time wasn't Chloe's favorite time of the day,she sat alone watching other students mingle and thought to herself if she really needed friends. 

"Hi, I'm Camilla Steven" a random blond average height girl sat at the table Chloe was in. 

"I'm Chloe, nice to meet you" Chloe said stretching her hand forward to offer a pleasant hand shake and the girl reciprocated the gesture.

"Nice to meet u too".

"Um, you must be wondering why I came to sit with u" Camilla said smiling 

"I definitely am" not so interested in the conversation, Chloe replied with a faint smile on her face.

"Well I sit behind you in class and I thought u could use a friend." 

"That's very nice of you, thank you" at this point Chloe didn't know how to keep the conversation going but she wanted to play nice. On the other hand Cami is known for talking too much. 

"So your name is just Chloe? No last name?" Camilla asked wanting to drill Chloe for information.

"Yes, just Chloe" suspicious ain't it?"

"What are you? A spy? How old are you? Do you know the owner? Where do you come from?" Cami sprung all these questions on Chloe and Chloe became uncomfortable. 

"Why are you so interested in knowing me and why do you think I'd know the owner? It's kinda rude to just ask uncomfortable questions like that"Chloe said but this time with a straight face. She was getting annoyed already. 

"Sorry about that, its just that this school has a mystery to it...no one knows who owns it and I have taken it as a personal mission to find out who the owner is, you not having a last name is suspicious so I thought maybe you were hiding something" Cami felt bad about Chloe's reaction.

"Sorry for freaking out on you, I don't really feel comfortable talking about myself but I can assure I have nothing to do with the owner " Chloe lied without a glitch on her face, she was hell bent on keeping her identity a secret.

"OK that aside, are we friends now?"Cami asked.

"I guess, is this how it works??" Chloe asked looking at Cami like a crazy person.

"Yep" Cami replied 

"Alright then I have to go, see you in class".

Chloe walked away still stunned by the conversation that just took place. She went to her office which was a restricted area for both staffs and students, well at least it was suppose to be.

Back in the classroom Leo was sitting on his own with his eyes locked on his phone screen when his twin brother Theo rushed in. 

"You would never believe what I just saw" Theo said still surprised by his early encounter.

"What did u see, a ghost?" Leo mocked his twin brother. 

"knock it off Leo, I just saw someone go into the owner's office" 

"And who might that be?" Leo asked curiously. 

"That hot new girl Chloe". 

"She probably doesn't know that its a restricted area."

"No this is different, she went in and You know that nobody has access to that office except that Friday janitor Sandra" 

"Remind me again what you were doing in school after hours on a Friday and who the hell is Sandra?" Leo asked 

"Sandra is a janitor that comes on Friday to clean the office and pick up files and I was in school cause I was hooking up with Sara" 

"Sara blonde or Sara black?" Leo asked, teasing his Playboy brother. Theo has a problem, he cannot stay with one girl for more than a month.

"Sara black obviously, she's hotter" he replied with a wicked grin on his face, he was reminiscing about that day.

"wipe that look off your face Theo" Leo told Theo looking at him with disgust. 

"Right, back to what I saw...do you think it's possible that the new girl has a connection to the mysterious owner?" Theo asked

"Could be possible, why don't you investigate" Leo gave Theo his suggestion. 

"I just need to get my hands on those keys and the only way I can get it is from that janitor and that will have to be on friday" 

"Well u find out and I'll cover for you with mom" Leo replied as he turned his focus back to his phone

"Till Friday then."

Days after, it was a Friday night and Theo was lingering around the school waiting on the janitor to show up. Chloe was also in the school but she had no idea that Sandra or Theo were there, she needed to get some work done and she needed to do it fast.

As Chloe was about to enter her office a familiar voice called out to her;

"Chloe?" She turned around only to see her nanny and then she ran towards her. They embraced each other tightly. 

"When did you return and why didn't u call me?" Sandra asked a little pissed but happy to see her. 

"let's go inside and talk" Chloe suggested as they proceeded inside.

After getting comfortable in the office chair they continued their conversation

"I came back last Saturday"

"It's almost a week Chloe, why didn't you come home" Sandra asked

"I wasn't ready to go home yet" Chloe said

"Where have you been staying then?"

"An hotel"

" so you picked an hotel over your own home, that's not very smart"

"I'll go home but not yet" Chloe gave a faint smile

"By the way Chloe, what are you doing here?" Sandra asked as it occurred to her that Chloe is not suppose to be in the school

"I go to school here now and I realized that there are a lot of things that needed to get do so I waited till the school was empty so I can get them done" she replied

"This is dangerous Chloe you could get caught"

While the conversation was ongoing Chloe had a phone call from Dave

*over the phone*

"Hello Dave"

"Miss chloe sorry to disturb you this late but there has been an issue in London, the workers went on strike"

"Why is that?"

"Apparently you are behind on your payments and their working conditions isn't at its best"

"And why wasn't I informed of this earlier on? Who is the person in charge of that operation?"

"The manager we hired a few months back miss"

"I will transfer the money to the company account and then you pay those ingrates and fire them all, I hate having my work delayed and as for the so called manager who I transferred the funds to over a month ago, I want him arrested"

"Yes miss Chloe" Dave agreed immediately knowing that no one crosses path with Chloe, just like her parents she was ruthless when it comes to her business. She is 15 yet she had so much responsibilities. One would be digging their grave is they tried to pull a fast one on her. That manager is in for a treat, we are talking serious jail time.

"Anything else Dave?" 

"Yes, how is school? Are they being nice to you there? Do they know who you are?" Dave asked, despite the fact that Chloe is his boss, he is also like a father to her.

"School's fine and nobody knows who I am" she responded

"Why won't you just open up and tell the world who you are?"

"Ever heard of kidnapping? I cannot go through that trauma, if anyone finds out I will shut the school down"Chloe answered Dave's (as she would refer to it) stupid question.

"Alright Chloe, be safe"

"Good night"

She hung the phone and her focus was back on her nanny.

"You are still the same old mean little girl" Sandra said with a little chuckle

"I'm not mean i just really hate delay on my work" Chloe defended herself

"That's not how I see it, lets go home Chloe, take the work home with you, you need to rest"Sandra demand

"alright Nanny."

Meanwhile Theo had recorded every single conversation and he was shocked at how a 15 year old can be that ruthless. Despite his new found knowledge, Theo decided to keep it a secret because he didn't want to lose the school, it was like a second home. He didn't even tell his brother but he knew that things were just starting to get interesting.
