Elara's POV

I was ready to go and see Miranda, probably get a few belongings.

Kael stood by a moss-covered tree, arms crossed, his gaze fixed on me. His presence was comforting, even when he was playfully challenging.

“Are you ready for this?” he asked, a teasing smirk tugging at his lips.

I was surprised with his question “Ready for what?” I replied, already sensing he had something up his sleeve.

“For a proper race,” Kael said, stepping closer. “Unless you’re scared.”

I scoffed, shaking my head. “Scared? Of what exactly? Please.”

“Then prove it. Shift and race me out of the forest,” he said, his grin widening.

Then I realised his mischief. Racing would get us out of the forest faster.

I didn't hesitate for a moment, I got excited and agreed. And the challenge in his eyes was enough to push me past my limits. “Fine,” I said. “Let’s see who’s faster.”

With a deep breath, I let the change wash over me. My body shifted effortlessly now, the once-awkward transformation was replaced by a

Miranda's POV I felt relieved knowing Elara was okay and knew the truth, I didn't have to struggle with how to disclose it to her.It was strange how the house seemed quieter after Elara left. From the window, I watched her figure fade into the distance. My hands trembled as I clutched the windowsill, my heart heavy yet oddly at peace. Tears trickled down my cheeks as I whispered, "Stay safe, my child."For years, I had carried the burden of keeping her safe, holding onto secrets that weren’t mine to reveal. But now, as she walked away, I realized my role in her life had reached its turning point. It wasn’t relief I felt but it was hope. Hope that Elara would fulfill her destiny, as her mother had always believed.I stepped away from the window and reached for the phone. My fingers shook as I dialed the police station, I had to clear the air and make them stop all investigation.“Hello, Fairview Police Department,” came the gruff voice on the other end.“Yes, this is Miranda,” I said

  • ELARA; THE LUNAR ALPHA    Shadows In The City

Kael's POV The city was lively, we stood at the taxi stand, waiting for the next available cab to take us back to the Woods. Elara, as usual, wasn’t one for silence."Kael, don't you think we’re being too serious right now?" she said, nudging me with a playful grin.I raised an eyebrow. "Too serious? You mean running for our lives, fighting hunters, and figuring out how to save you from mysterious enemies isn’t lighthearted enough?"She laughed, and for a moment, the tension between us got even. “Well, if we’re going back into the forest, why don’t we explore the town first? You know, breathe some polluted air, see some humans.”I gave her a long look. “Explore the town? Elara, we barely made it out of Blackwood alive last time. Now you want to sightsee?”She crossed her arms and pouted. “Come on, I’m tired of just talking to trees. Let me be a normal person for a few hours!”That did it. I sighed, relenting. “Fine. But if we get into trouble, you’re explaining it to the trees.”She

ELARA'S POV We took a taxi back to Miranda's. I only hope she wasn't the victim. Could they have referred to my biological mother? So many questions whirled my mind. I heard Kael whisper my name. I looked at him and he gave the expression of letting go of my worry and staying positive and I felt relieved as he held my hands and continued our journey. As we got down from the taxi, I let out a sigh of relief, trying to do away with my unease. When we arrived at the house, I could feel my heart sank. The door was slightly open, Miranda would never leave the door open, she was too careful. Kael held my hands and pushed the door open. “Stay behind me,” Kael said, his voice steady. I didn’t argue. He stepped inside first, his body tense, ready for anything. I followed closely. And then I saw her. Miranda lay sprawled on the floor, her body unnaturally still. Blood pooled beneath her, staining the wooden floorboards, and her lifeless eyes stared at the ceiling. A lump ros

We journeyed back to camp silently. I glanced at Elara occasionally, her face unreadable, I wondered what she had on her mind. Her steps were quick and determined. I wanted to say something, but words felt I shouldn't, after what she had just endured.Suddenly she missed a step and was about to fall but I caught her immediately, like I had expected it.“ Please be careful,” I pleaded, but instead she got on her feet and continued without giving me a response. When finally got to the camp, Luca, who was addressing some young werewolves lifted his face and saw us, but his expression quickly shifted to concern.I guess he had looked around for us.“Where have you two been?” he asked, sending away the young ones and walking toward us.Elara didn’t even glance his way. She walked past him without a word, her shoulders rigid, and disappeared into her cabin.Luca frowned, turning to me. “What’s going on? Did something happen to her?”I sighed, “It’s a long story, but... Miranda, her guardia

Elara’s POVThe gentle sound of the stream did little to soothe the storm inside me. They said I shouldn't be hard on myself. But my best wasn’t enough for me, not for anyone.I twisted my fists, my nails digging into my palms. The pack had already questioned my identity when I got injured badly in a fight. Now I had to remain strong and capable. I wasn’t going to let my emotions hold me back. I wiped the tears that threatened to spill, I stood and marched back to the training ground.Luca was still there, pacing, his back turned. He turned around at the sound of my footsteps, his brows furrowed. “Elara,” he began, but I cut him off.“I want to try again, Another training.” I said firmly, my voice edged with determination.“Are you sure?” he asked, his tone cautious. “You need to be calm in order to learn.”“I’m ready,” I interrupted. My eyes bore into his. “I need this, Luca. There's no time.”He hesitated, and stared at me. Then, with a resigned sigh, he nodded. “Alright. This tim

  • ELARA; THE LUNAR ALPHA    A Lie To Save

Luca’s POVI paced the cabin, watching the healer apply herbs on the injured children. The cry of the grieving mother pierced through the air, raw and unrelenting. I finally stopped and stood frozen, thinking of what to do. The incident was also my fault because I could have stopped Elara. I only hoped for the two boys to be saved. The dead child, however, laid still. Too still. I carried a white sheet and covered his small body. I wasn't sure what to tell them because the incident got everyone alarmed. His father was kneeling beside him in silent despair. He suddenly walked out of the cabin and I could hear commotion outside. It sounded like a protest. The werewolves were angry. My chest tightened as guilt clawed at me. The thought of telling them the truth hung heavy in the air, but I knew what it would do to Elara if they found out.I glanced toward Kael, who stood nearby. He returned the gaze, I could see the conflict in his eyes. The healer wiped his brow, looking up at me wit

  • ELARA; THE LUNAR ALPHA    Remorse

Luca's POVThe burial was a somber affair. The boy was laid to rest with honor, as I promised, but the atmosphere remained dull with grief and unrest. A grief for one was a grief for all.We had lost so many. When the Lunar Alpha was discovered to come from my clan we were attacked by many, both hunters and other clans but my father was able to bring unity among the clans again, although the hunters never stopped. We were forced into the shadows of the forest, away from the kingdom. But we will reign again.I watched everyone slowly dispersed, each wolf returning to their duties or families, I was glad I handled the situation.. Elara was still missing.I scanned the camp, my sharp eyes searching for her familiar figure, but she was nowhere to be seen. My chest tightened with worry. She must have run deeper into the forest.Without hesitation, I shifted into my wolf form, letting my instincts take over. The transformation was quick and fluid, my senses sharpened instantly. • ELARA; THE LUNAR ALPHA    The Spy That Betrays

Raven's POV My spy knelt before me, his head bowed low, trembling slightly as he delivered his report. Sending him to Luca's camp was the best decision I made. The light in my chamber was dim, and it gave me sharp satisfaction that he didn't recognise his master.“Elara?” I repeated, my voice cold and calculating. “The Lunar Alpha?”“Yes, Master,” the spy confirmed, his voice barely above a whisper. “I saw it with my own eyes during the training session. She... she lost control of her emotions. Her energy surged and... it killed the boy instantly. Two others were injured.”I sat up on my ornate chair, steepling my fingers as I processed the information. “The people must have lost faith in her already. It would make my work easier. And what did Luca do?” I asked.“Master, he lied,” the spy replied quickly. “He told the pack they were attacked by silent hunters. He’s hiding the truth to protect her.”My lips curled into a sinister smile. “Of course, he would. He would sacrifice anythin

Elara's POV The night air was thick with the scent of damp earth and pine as I made her way toward the stronghold. The torches lining the pathways flickered in the wind, casting long shadows against the stone walls. It had been a long day—negotiations with the clan leaders, settling disputes, and reassuring the elders that the alliance would hold. And then there was Luca.I smiled to myself, remembering his teasing remark."If we had met in high school, you would have had a crush on me, right?"The memory made me chuckle. Luca was always so effortlessly charming. But my amusement faded as I neared the war chamber. The moment she stepped inside, she felt it.A shift in the air.Kael was there. He stood near the large wooden map table, his arms crossed over his broad chest, his golden eyes sharp as they settled on her. His expression was unreadable, but there was something stormy in his gaze.I hesitated. “Lyanna said you were looking for me. What’s wrong?”Kael didn’t answer right awa

He was still out there, lurking in the shadows, waiting for his chance to strike back. And I needed to be ready.I called for a war council within the Lunar Stronghold, where the Eight Clans would discuss their next move. The leaders gathered around a massive stone table, maps and battle plans laid out before them.Kael stood at my right, his arms crossed. "We can’t sit and wait for Raven to attack. We need to take the fight to him."Lyanna nodded. "But we must be careful. If we rush in blindly, we risk losing everything we’ve built."The leader of the fifth clan, the cunning leader of the assassin clan, smirked. "I say we strike from the shadows. Elara's POV My warriors and I had traveled for days, pushing through snow-covered landscapes and icy winds that cut like daggers. The Third Clan was the most isolated of the eight clans, living in the frozen wastelands of the north. Their warriors were strong, resilient, and unforgiving, shaped by the harsh environment that had become their home.I had heard the stories—how their ancestors had been abandoned in battle, left to fend for themselves while the Ninth Clan retreated. Now, I had to convince them to join her cause.Kael, walking beside me, pulled his fur-lined cloak tighter. "Are you sure they will listen?""No," I admitted. "But I won’t leave without trying."Lyanna exhaled, her breath visible in the cold air. "Then we better be ready for anything."As we neared the Third Clan stronghold, they saw figures on the cliffs above, watching our approach. The warriors of the Third Clan were clad in silver and white armor, their ice-blue eyes piercing through the snowstorm.Suddenl

  • ELARA; THE LUNAR ALPHA    United We Stand

Elara's POV After securing the allegiance of the Fifth Clan, I knew her next challenge would be even greater. The Fourth Clan, dwelling deep within the swamps, was the most elusive of all the werewolf clans. Their members were known for their secrecy and mastery of dark magic. Many considered them more myth than reality.Few who entered their lands returned, and those who did spoke of illusions, dangerous creatures, and whispers in the mist. But if I truly wanted to reunite the eight clans, I needed the Fourth Clan wolves on her side.I was accompanied by Kael, Lyanna, and a handful of warriors, set off toward the southern marshlands where the Fourth Clan resided. The journey was slow and treacherous. The deeper we ventured, the more unnatural the landscape became. Thick fog curled around the trees, shadows moved without a source, and distant whispers echoed through the air.Luca shuddered. "I don’t like this place. It feels… alive."Kael, ever the strategist, kept his hand on his we

  • ELARA; THE LUNAR ALPHA    A Call For Unity

Elara's POV The morning sun bathed the land in golden light as I stood atop a hill overlooking the First Clan’s stronghold. The battle against Raven and the hunters had been won, but the cost was heavy. Fields were scorched, homes reduced to rubble, and families mourned their fallen. The war had left scars, not just on the land but on the hearts of the werewolves.I clenched my fists, inhaling deeply as the cool breeze brushed against my skin. The air carried the scent of damp earth and the lingering echoes of battle, but beneath it all, there was something else, a whisper of hope.I turned to face the gathered warriors and council members. Luca stood at my right, his expression hard with resolve. Lyanna was nearby, her sharp gaze scanning the horizon, ever watchful. Kael, standing just behind me, radiated silent strength, his presence a constant source of reassurance.“The war is over,” I began, my voice clear and unwavering. “But our true battle has just begun.”Murmurs rippled t

  • ELARA; THE LUNAR ALPHA    The Fall Of The Hunters And Rise Of Peace

Elara’s POV The morning sun barely touched the horizon when I stood before my warriors, my people—my pack. The war had stretched for too long, costing lives, homes, and countless sacrifices. But tonight, it will end. I had spent weeks gathering every able warrior, scouting the lands, and hunting down the remnants of Raven’s forces. The hunters had plagued the werewolf clans for far too long, tearing through our numbers like a disease. Not anymore. Dressed in my battle leathers, I walked through the ranks of my warriors. Their eyes burned with the same fire that coursed through my veins. They believed in me. And tonight, we would reclaim our lands and restore the balance that Raven sought to destroy. I turned to Kael, who stood at my side. “Are they ready?” His silver eyes met mine. “They would follow you to the ends of the earth.” A slow exhale left my lips. I nodded, turning to face my army. “Tonight, we end this war.” A roar of approval filled the air as I raised my sword,

  • ELARA; THE LUNAR ALPHA    The Lunar Alpha Ordained

Elara’s POVThe morning was crisp, the sky painted in shades of deep blue and streaks of silver as I made my way to the Sanctuary of the Moon. This was where my journey would reach its final test—the last quest that would determine whether I was worthy of being ordained as the Lunar Alpha.I had faced trials that tested my strength, my will, and my loyalty. I had battled against fate itself, emerging victorious against enemies who sought to break me. And now, one final step remained. As I stepped onto the sacred ground, the Elders of the Council stood before me in a solemn line. Their robes fluttered gently in the morning breeze, their expressions unreadable.Lyanna stood among them, her gaze steady, but I could see the flicker of emotion in her eyes—pride, perhaps, or hope. The great silver moonstone stood tall in the center of the sanctuary, glowing faintly under the rising sun. The war had begun. And yet…Elara was still standing. The news of her progress through the Lunar Trials had reached me swiftly. First, she had faced her past and survived. Then, she had endured the Moon’s Labyrinth—an ordeal that had crushed even the strongest werewolves before her.But she wasn’t just surviving. She was winning.A sharp growl rumbled in my throat. The so-called Lunar Alpha was growing stronger. Too strong.I tapped my fingers against the wooden table, my patience thinning.
