Was it weird that I felt like I was at the top of the world? The way Lucius looked at me made me feel as if there was no other person on this planet, just me. Or maybe it was the fact that he made me feel like he saw no one but me?

I watched him as Lucius finally snapped out of the haze and ran up the stairs. Once he reached me, he didn’t say a word; instead, his lips captured mine in a passionate kiss.

Although I was taken by surprise, I didn’t hesitate to melt against him.

No other man in my life had ever stood a chance to stand near Lucius. Some time ago, I assumed he was a monster, a man incapable of feelings and emotions, yet he did everything to prove how wrong I was to think of him like that.

The King was more than I believed I deserved, but I wouldn’t allow the doubt cloud my mind. If the Moon Goddess paired us, she had a reason for that. If a deity thought we were a perfect fit and Lucius seconded that, who was I to deny their vision?
