Was it normal that my heart started beating just a little faster? That my cheeks tinted red as the heat traveled even to the tips of my ears, and that my throat dried up?

Although I still wasn’t sure as to how to respond and what words could be fitting in a situation as such, I knew I had to speak up before Lucius took my lack of answer as rejection.

The only thing that I knew for a fact was that I didn’t want to deny him. I didn’t want to say no to Lucius, especially when he looked at me like this.

His eyes were gentle, as always, but there was that hidden hint of sharpness, impatience and lust that I didn’t think would go so perfectly with the calmness of his voice and stoic facial expression.

It felt like just seconds ago, I experienced a mental breakdown, just to feel this liberated and calm after something that was supposed to worry me.
