The talk with Alpha Maverick in short was nothing I expected it to be.

As I walked inside his office, I expected him to question me about the true reason why we arrived or ask me to share why I thought someone was trying to kill him.

Once my ass was firm on the chair, he glared at me and cleared his throat. “I want to know what your intentions are toward Eden. She is a nice girl, very kind and forgiving, but I can’t let anyone stomp over her head as if she means nothing. I have overlooked too much mistreatment of her as it is.
