Epilogue 5. "The Lost Daughter"

In the living room, Vic and Victoria were lounging on opposite couches. Mikhail had stepped out to pick up his parents, leaving the two women to chat.

As they sat there, Victoria noticed Vic's intense gaze on her. She shot back, “Stop staring at me like that. It’s kind of creepy.”

Vic quickly looked away and replied, “Sorry. It’s just a bit strange having you right in front of me.”

Victoria smirked, “Is it because I’m too gorgeous?”

Vic chuckled, “I mean, I already knew you were good-looking, but you definitely have some confidence.”

Victoria frowned, “I didn’t like that. It feels like a dig at me.”

"No, I'm not trying to insult you. Actually, I just realized why it was so easy for Mikhail to uncover my secret. You were really a unique person, Victoria," Vic said.

"Enough with that. Just be honest with me. What’s your real connection to my brother? He’s not the type to cry easily, but you made him sob like a child. Did you two ever date?"
