Chapter 02
DAMON’S POV "I'll be there when I get out of this dump site of a pack", I said to the elders and got off the call with a tired sigh. As my Beta, Hugh, drove through the Red Moon pack, I shook my head in pity. This place was a mere shadow compared to the empire that I led. Everything we passed was so small and dry. Now I see why they were so quick to beg for a peace treaty immediately when we threatened them with war. I mean, no pack in the entire wolf kingdom dared to agree to a battle against us except they were tired of living, but no one had ever gone so quickly on their knees, ready to kiss my balls like the RedMoon pack One of their hunters had mistakenly hurt a young son from my empire who'd strayed a little bit. Immediately the news came to me, I sent my messengers to tell RedMoon pack to get ready for a war, but they immediately came bearing gifts, begging and promising to give us whatever we wanted if we agreed to overlook the mistake. I would've sent my son Xavier on this errand, but he was already in another pack who also wanted to sign a peace treaty with us when this happened. "Drive faster, Hugh. I need to get out of this shithole before the end of tonight", I muttered to my beta, and stepped on the accelerator immediately. I took out my phone to check the details of the peace treaty sent by Xavier and I was barely two minutes into it when I suddenly felt the car screech to a hard stop. It was so sudden, I would've somersaulted in the car if I didn't have my seatbelt to put me in place. "What's the problem now, Hugh?", I groaned in frustration. "This young woman was walking right in the middle of the road and didn't see us coming", he kissed his teeth in anger. "Just stay in here, let me settle it", he said and got out of the car. The lady was so angry, I could hear their back and forth from inside where I sat. So angry... Yet so beautiful... I know that face, I have Craved that face before. "You motherfucker!! Why would you opt to drive if you don't have any experience?! Do you want to kill me?!!", she screamed in anger. "Excuse me? You were the one walking right in the middle of the road. This is a sharp bend for crying out loud. You could've gotten yourself killed", Hugh did his best to explain to her in simple terms, even though I knew he was pissed. "Oh, please. You think I'm scared of death?! You think I'm scared of you and that good-for-nothing you call your boss that you're carrying around? I'm living the most miserable life right now, and there's nothing you can do that can make my life any worse!!", She spat at Hugh with her harsh words. I wasn't supposed to be hurt by the fact that she just called me a good-for-nothing. Why did it sting a little? "From the way you ignorantly use your words, I can tell you do not have an idea who's in this car. So I can't blame you?" "I don't need to know who he is. All I'm certain of is that he's just as much of a nuisance as you are!!" "Did you just call me a nuisance?" "Will you do something about it?!" It was already getting out of hand, and I decided to get out to stop everything. I opened my door and was about to get my feet to the ground when the young lady slammed my door back with so much force and flashed two middle fingers at my tinted window before storming away in anger. For a moment, I sat there, utterly dumbfounded. Where did this hothead of a lady get the audacity to make me feel so small? I'd fought bloody wars and brought back heads of Alphas as a part of my collection. I'd subdued even the greatest of packs and had taken over their lands. I controlled the whole of the Northern wolf realm due to my ruthlessness and power, only for me to be disrespected by this... Thing? It still felt like a quick dream when my Beta settled back into the driver's seat with his face contorted in a frown. "I'm so sorry about that, boss. That shouldn't have happened. Let me get you to the palace and get you out of here immediately", he started the car and we began moving. "I hope you were not affected by the lady's rudeness?" "Not at all", I shook my head. But time passed, and I still couldn't get her off my mind. For some reason, I couldn't let it go. I hadn't decided whether it was going to kill her or not, but I had to see her again. I just had to. *** "Thank you so much for honoring my visit-" "Let's cut to the chase, Donovan", I said immediately as he offered us a seat. "A member of your pack hurt our son, and the whole pack is seeking revenge. I'm not here to exchange pleasantries. Tell me what your peace treaty has to offer me." Donovan obviously guessed I wasn't one to play around, but he tucked his tail in between his legs immediately as I asserted dominance. "First of all, on behalf of the RedMoon pack, I want to apologize-" "There will be no need for that. Tell me what I need to know." "Okay", he cleared his throat and began. "First of all, we promise you half of our soldiers anytime you're going on a war. Secondly, we're willing to give you fifty percent of our land for you to use for farming. Your pack members will be treated like royalty anytime they pass through our pack", he explained with reverence. RedMoon was a small pack compared to mine, but I knew they had fertile soil. "70% of your land", I insisted. "Done", he agreed with any argument, and I saw a smile of relief on his face as he turned to his maids. "Go bring dinner for our guests immediately." He led us to the dining area and the maids began dishing the food. Amongst the maid, my eyes rested on a familiar face. Wait a minute. It couldn't be. It was the same beautiful, rude lady who made me question my own reign as the Alpha of bloodmoon pack. Apart from today, I have seen that face before. Wait a minute, She is Donovan’s Second daughter. My wolf became restless, and I wanted to teach her a lesson here and now. "So...", Donovan began. "Just to be sure, we've concluded on the peace treaty, right? There's nothing else you want to add to the list?", He asked nervously, ready to sell his whole pack with his wife included if I asked. "Actually, there's one more thing", I said. The lady was about to dish out the meal when she made eye contact with me and my Beta, and I saw her face grow pale for a moment. She recognized us too. I watched as she tried to maintain composure as she continued dishing the meal. "What other thing would you want as a part of the peace treaty, Alpha Damon?", Donovan asked. My eyes fixated on her, I clenched my jaw. "I want her.”Chapter 03 ZARA'S POV "The guests are here!!", Miriam rushed into the kitchen and alerted the maids with a sense of urgency. "I need everyone on deck! Get to serve them their food immediately! I don't want anyone acting like an old woman here! Get their food to them quickly and carefully!!", She yelled instructions to each maids as they hurried out of the kitchen with the food I just made. After almost getting hit by a bunch of rich fools and trekking to the border to get wolf peppers, I ended up staying choked in the kitchen making a three course meal for the guests that we were going to have. From what I heard, our guests where the Alpha and Beta of Blood moon pack the strongest pack in all of the wolf Kingdom, with an Alpha that couldn't be looked in the eyes even by the greatest men because of how ruthless, heartless and cold he was. Miriam was supposed to be one to cook or at least supervise it, but she made me do it and took all of the credit. "And what are you doing
Chapter 4 ZARA'S POV "I can't take this anymore. If the Moon Goddess isn't going to help me, then to hell with her. I'm going to help myself before I die", I muttered as I cleaned the tears from my face. I couldn't explain where I got the surge of courage and strength from, I decided it in my mind. I was going to leave this abysmal palace before it'd have the chance to run me mad or worse, take my life. I got up from the bed and walked to the door. Gently, I opened it and stuck my head out, peeping through the long hallway. It was empty. "Good" I gently stepped out and slowly closed the door, making sure the wooden door didn't make any sounds. It was well past midnight and everyone had retired to their rooms. I saw no one as I walked down the hallway. It was awfully lonely and cold. As the wind slapped my torn skin, the tingling pain reminded me of the risk I was taking. It reminded me of the possible consequences I could face if anything went wrong, and with the once radical c
Chapter 5 ZARA'S POV "Oh shit!!", Luna yelled in terror when she caught sight of me staring at them fucking. Confused by what was happening, Kyle pushed Luna to see what was happening, and his eyes widened in shock at the sight of his girlfriend staring at them from the darkness. “Za... Zara, I can explain...", Kyle began to stutter as he frantically put on his boxers and jumped away from her I opened my mouth to yell in horror, but it felt like my tongue had somehow been tied, and the only thing I could do was stare from my tear-blurry eyes at the image of my own sister, naked and bouncing back on my boyfriend's dick. They were so deep in pleasure that they didn't even realize that someone was staring at them in the darkness for minutes. “Kyle?Luna?”. I managed to say as I watched them struggle to put on their clothes. Luna had a smug look on face. No wonder, she was not dining with us when that horrible Alpha was here and Kyle didn't tell me he was coming around today. I…
Chapter 6ZARA'S POV “A word to my dearest,” Alpha Damon said as soon as he crouched before me, raising my chin up with a finger. “No one touches my bride and goes scot-free.”I was crying uncontrollably, despite Alpha Damon yelling countless times for me to shut up. My father remained unmoving, Asher probably dead. I caught a glimpse of Miriam and Luna at the other end of the field, bawling their eyes out. I kept screaming out to my father, and this time when Alpha Damon approached, it wasn't to warn me again. He slapped me across the face. “I hate repeating myself, young girl.” He turned to his subordinates. “These people have proven to be incompetent. Right under my nose, another man dares to touch my bride.” My eyes widened in shock, wondering just how what had transpired a few days ago had gotten to the Blood Moon Pack that was four vast grasslands away. I then remembered there were spies and Rogues constantly patrolling and switching between clan territories. Knowledge was
CHAPTER 7ZARA’S POVIf I was told I was going to wake up to see another dawn, I would have argued otherwise. It's been four days since I arrived at the castle of Alpha Damon, and thankfully, he had not come around to pay a visit. Lady Rose, despite her weird demeanor, had been kind enough to help me out with some clothing and a bed to lay my now frail body on. My days were spent profusely cleaning the room the best way I knew how and ended with me watching Lady Rose and other servants around in the kitchen as they prepared dinner for the Alpha and other royal relatives. Sometimes, I tried to fight my body from making it to see the next day by skipping a meal, but the whining of my wolf became a disappointing reminder of the fate I had been subjected to.The darkness did no justice to the room I was placed in. It was much smaller when the sun rose. I try to dream of my bedroom sometimes, hoping that as I lay on the stone cold bed I retire to, I would feel the comfort I once used to
CHAPTER 8Alpha Damon’s POVI watched Zara’s eyes widen in horror as those words came out of my mouth, “Wh..What?”. She said, her voice and body visibly trembling.“Don't let me repeat myself again. I said "strip". My voice husky, as my wolf whined in me, hungrily. I didn't have time to waste, she was mine now and I couldn't wait to have her. Since I met Zara when she was just a little tenager, I have always imagined what her body would look like and how it would feel with me all over her. I couldn't do anything then because she was just a little girl, so I told her father to keep and preserve her for me until I'm back for her.So how dare he let his bastard of a son lay a finger on what is mine?. Although she was a little quiet and timid when I first saw her, I know there is a feisty naughty part of her which I am going to unleash, enjoy and explore all by myself“I…i dont…i don’t….” she stuttered, taking a few steps back, as if trying to bolt from the door. My wolf whined agai
CHAPTER 9Zara’s POV“Alpha Damon….”. My voice trailed becoming weaker and weaker as I cried to him to have mercy. He wasn't close any more, but I could still hear him roaring in the background as I was dragged almost naked to the dungeon. The dungeon, a place I dreaded and feared with everything in me.“Please…please…”. I pleaded with the Gruff, rugged men that pulled me to the dungeon. Although my body was being dragged along the ground, and I definitely got some injuries, that was the least of my problems. If only I could see reasons with them to just let me go, that would be perfect. But that, that was impossible. My heart beat increased the moment we reached the areas that were out of the residential areas. The air grew thick with the stench of mold and decay, making my stomach churn. As I stumbled along, the guard’s grip on my arms tightened. I struggled to break free, but their hold was unyielding."Where are you taking me?Let me go!!” I demanded, but my voice was met with
Chapter 10Zara's POVMy screaming seemed pointless and my tears stopped flowing after enough crying. I knew noone was coming but that was the only thing I could do so I remained on the icy floors of the disgusting dungeon screaming for help from anybody, anyone at all, with the littlest of emotions."Help, help me. Please, anybody. Please help me," I was on my last strength, I felt it as my voice was leaving me and my body felt weaker than ever. I was not going to last long in this cell. If anybody was coming, it had to be now, before I lose my mind or my breath ceases."I'm hungry," I finally said, thinking that it would at least shake the guards that were most likely standing watch outside the doors of the small dungeon. There was nothing. No sound, no footsteps, nobody was coming. Nobody made an attempt to help. I was losing faith that I was going to survive another day. Would that be such a bad thing? If I died right now? I definitely would not be missed. My father would be rel
Chapter 61 Zara's POVOutside Alpha Damon's room, I could finally get a personal view of that magnificent garden sitting in the compound. There was a path separating the two sides of the garden. It was almost a little too big for a garden, as it covered almost an entire plot. The garden had rows of roses, tulips and lilies and so many exotic breeds I could not recognise. It was a perfect combination of so many different colours- red, white, blue, yellow, splattered all over the place. It brought peace to me, this place. It was the only place I felt a little at peace in the mansion. With the basket I found lying around in the kitchen, I headed straight for the mushrooms I spotted from inside Alpha Damon's room.I loved mushrooms, partly because of how they tasted and partly because I knew how to identify the poisonous kind. It felt good to possess uncommon knowledge. I walked through the garden, my eyes sifting through the numerous mushrooms just sitting there.Anything with a shade
Chapter 60 Zara's POVI used to love the mornings. I loved the way the rays of the sun seemed to blind out every problem that I had. I don't know when I stopped loving the mornings. I don't know when the sun was no longer enough to block out those problems. These problems keep growing, bigger and bigger every second. I woke up to the sound of Alpha Damon on a call with a person I assumed was his secretary from the way he spoke. He barked orders at the person on the other end, but then again, he barked orders at everybody.I once tried to understand him. Why he acted the way he did? Nurture or nature? As a child, I read anything and everything I could find in the grand library at my pack house, from fictional story books to history books. There was nothing about the Blood moon pack's previous Alpha. It was like he never existed. "Make yourself at home," he said. "This is your new home. I've said this before but you still ran away. It does not matter. You can't run from me," he said
Chapter 59Somewhere in the Crescent moon pack,A black lambo with the flag of the Blood moon pack raised at its side pulled up by the high gates of the Crescent moon pack smeared in purple and gold paint. Inside the car is none other than Alpha Damon's right hand man, and the only person he could trust to fetch the princess, Beta Hugh.It took the whole day to get to the village, an exhausting journey, even for a trained and seasoned enforcer like Beta Hugh.Past the gates and into the magnificent village where he, Beta Hugh, would find the princess, stood the imposing pack house. He walked into the building, formal and straightforward as always. His mission was one and he would fulfill it, he always did. He would take princess Riana Park to the Blood moon village in preparation for her wedding with his prince and liege."Your majesty," he prostrated for the lightly but richly dressed man sitting before him. A message had been sent to the Alpha before Hugh's arrival so everything wo
Chapter 58Zara's POVMy heart sank as Alpha Damon uttered the words, "it can't be." My attempt at deceiving him was futile after all. It was foolish of me to think I could lie to him with his ability to hear my heartbeat and possibly even know what I was thinking through our mind links. Although mind links were meant exclusively for members of the same pack.I tried as much as possible to conceal my thoughts, hoping for the best but expecting the worst to happen. "Wait in the bedroom," Alpha Damon commanded after his interrogation, torture session. He seemed to have bought the story I made up about the moonlight pack. It was known throughout werewolf city of the feud between the Blood Moon pack and the Moonlight pack so it was easy to put the blame on the Blood Moon pack's rival but I expected more hesitation from Alpha Damon.I summoned the last of my strength to walk away from the suspicious werewolf as fast as I could, before he noticed that I had been lying. His bedroom, a huge
Chapter 57Xavier's POVWaking up to the sound of young, horny adults is a nightmare. My nightmare was on repeat. "Harder baby, harder!" Became my alarm in the crappy apartment I stayed in. I never imagined Nick to be the nymphomaniac kind of guy. The worst part was that I could not think about complaining, I had nowhere else to go. I was grateful for his offer too.It had been three days since I moved in with Nick and every night since has been filled with awkward, high pitched and disturbing sounds at night.Nick's one bedroom apartment was small and anything but cozy. He had clothes littered over every furniture in his sparsely furnished space. His apartment defined "low budget" with his.small, flat screen TV, a rickety, brown and ugly sofa and his bed at the one end of the room, all squeezed in a tiny space."Make yourself at home," he said, the afternoon I arrived, his emerald green eyes gleaming as he spoke. Nick was always like that, always the first person to offer a helping
Chapter 56Zara's POVI opened my eyes to dizzying lights overhead, a familiar scent and an unyusual unawareness of my surroundings. Not again.I closed my eyes to recollect my thoughts. The last thing I remembered was the train station. The lights went out. Isaac."Isaac?" I called out in the strange environment."Your friend is dead, like everyone who was foolish enough to think they could help you escape me. There is no escaping me," a deep voice announced from a distance.I know that voice. An instant dread filled me up as my head was thrown forcefully back into reality and my attention was called to order at once. The man's steps were loud and echoed in the quiet room. With each step, I felt as the deep pit in my belly grew even bigger, making me more and more uneasy. Then it stopped. The loud footsteps came to a halt, plunging the room back into its eerie silence. He was close enough by this time."Did you really think you were going to run away from under my nose?" came that
Chapter 55Zara's POVOutside the dark room was bright and sunny. I wondered how Isaac got me out of the restaurant without drawing any attention to himself."I'll take you home. You just have to trust me and don't ever leave my sight," Isaac warned before we set out. Trust you? I wanted to believe him because if I did not and he was not who he said he was then all hope really was lost. "Take this, it'll help," he said and I felt strength return to me after he forced some pills into my mouth. The streets of Orleans were packed as usual with people of various cultures roaming freely. "I could run away right now," I said to the mercenary, expecting a reaction but he remained unflinching.Isaac made sure I was at his side at all times even through thick crowds and across busy roads. I felt uncomfortable when he held my hand as we crossed the road. His squishy palm was unbecoming of a man of his status. This man was nothing like the one I met earlier in the restaurant. He did not smil
Chapter 54Zara's POVDarkness. I woke up with a banging headache and a bad feeling. Something was terribly wrong but I did not know what it was. My mind felt blank with my head not being able to process anything. It hurt everytime I tried thinking. The cold tiles I was lying on were not helping. I thought only of one thing for a while- how to stop the cold but it was one thing to think and another to be able to actualize your thoughts. Footsteps. Someone was coming and they were walking in fast. A beam of light flashed into my eyes, worsening my already bad headache. "Who?" I tried to speak but I felt weak, too weak to say anything or do anything. The light went out as fast as it came on, plunging the room back into darkness. I didn't think I'd ever think like this but in that moment I preferred the darkness to the light. It seemed like someone had walked into the room where I was. Someone was standing only a few feet away, after walking in through a door. I had no way of confi
Chapter 53Zara’s POVThe sky stretched out blue and bright. The few clouds to be seen formed odd shapes. One of them reminded me of a big, brown wolf I had come across once."You like it?" Isaac's warm, womanly voice called my wandering mind back to reality, back to him and away from the clouds. But I stared for a reason, I was not interested in a conversation with him in the first place, I only sat out of courtesy and because he did pay for my meal. "I'm sorry. What?" "Your burger? How is it?" He asked between gobbling his donut down. "You should have gotten the burger if you were so interested in it, four eyes," was what I would have said if I was not in complete control of my emotions.I tended to be harsh at times, I knew that so I double checked every time before speaking.I peeked up at him to reply generically, "it's good. Thank you," before turning back to the tasty burger. It was good, the best thing I had eaten in days. The meat was cooked and seasoned in a way I did not
