Heather had assumed Craig would have given up on waiting for her at her apartment building and left last night. She hadn't expected him to still be here.

He seemed tanner than before, though that was expected given his recent honeymoon on Crescent Isle.

"Hattie, where were you last night? Why weren't you at home?" Craig demanded. He was exhausted from waiting here the whole night, and his tone was filled with accusation.

Heather snapped to her senses and nearly sputtered. "Who are you to ask me that, Craig?"

He froze. "Hattie, I was here the entire night waiting for you. I have so much to tell you. It was never my intention to get married.

"I went home because my mom really was sick. I told her about us, but I never expected her to emotionally blackmail me into marrying another woman.

"She threatened to take her own life if I didn't do as she asked. When I refused, she had my brother lock me up.

"I couldn't reach you at all, and I was left with no choice but to go through with
