Back Again

I wake up with a gasp and for a second I feel bewildered and completely confused by the different scents in this room... until it all makes sense and I remember what happened last night. Goddamn, I can't believe I fell asleep in such a deep way. That rarely happens when I'm somewhere other than my own home.

Kingsley is lying completely on top of me, which should irritate me, except it doesn't because he’s very light. In fact, I love the feel of his weight on my body and would like to stay here until he wakes up, but I have to carefully set him aside.

Before I fully get up, I lower my face to scent his white and tousled hair one last time, taking the opportunity to look at every inch of his face while his eyes are closed and he’s so strangely calm. I like him like this, he should be asleep all the time.

My hand moves to caress his cheek, and I almost choke because of the softness of his skin. I want to touch him all over.
