Chapter 22 : Camilla’ POV

“Get in and shut the door,” the man in the driver's seat commanded through the lowered window.

I was terrified. My hands shook as I fumbled with the passenger door, finally yanking it open and tumbling into the seat. I threw the bag with the money onto the back seat, my breath coming in rapid gasps. The reality of my situation hit me like a punch to the gut—I had sealed my fate the moment I stepped into that car. Fear paralyzed my tongue, rendering me silent before the man beside me.

“You can pull out the seatbelt and use it,” he said, his voice eerily calm.

His hands were steady on the steering wheel as he started the engine. The car reversed smoothly, and with every inch we moved away from the mall's parking lot, the tension in my chest grew tighter. Escape seemed impossible; everything now rested in the hands of fate.

"That's Camilla in that vehicle," Lawrence whispered urgently to one of the cops hidden behind a nearby car.
