Chapter 25 : The hunt continues

Camilla’s POV

"Come with me now," Raymond demanded, gripping my hands tightly and dragging me along.

"What's going on?" I repeated, my voice trembling with confusion and fear. "Raymond, talk to me!"

His silence was chilling. His furious grip and determined pace told me this was serious—deadly serious.

"You've gotten on my nerves with what you've done," he snarled. "How dare you call the police on me? I told you from the beginning not to contact anyone, especially the police. Now, you'll suffer for it."

He yanked me toward a dimly lit room. Panic surged through me. I hadn't called the police; I was sure of it. But his accusation shook me to the core.

"Police?" I repeated, my voice echoing with disbelief. "I didn't call the police. How could I?"

Raymond's grip tightened as he hissed, "Who else would know, if not you? You'll pay for disobeying me."
