EMILY'S POV
“I'm done with you, Emily. I never knew you could stoop so low. Bringing a bastard child into my home to claim it's mine?" I felt air suck out of my lungs when my husband, Liam, uttered those words with rage in his eyes. Tears streamed down my cheeks as I held on to the front of my dress. My baby bump couldn't let me stand well but what broke me more was the look Liam gave me. It was filled with disgust and hatred, which made me doubt whatever I was going to say was going to change a thing. "Liam, please, this is our child..." I began but my voice faltered when a slap suddenly landed on my cheek. My gaze became blurry as more tears threatened to escape my eyes. It stung but the person who slapped me was none other than my fake sister. She was the princess while I was nothing but her shadow. “How could you lie to my face?" My sister yelled in front of me with pure hatred in his eyes. She cleaned her hand with a handkerchief as if I were a rag before stomping the handkerchief on the floor. She towered over me with her high heels and looked at me with a sense of mockery. “I know you have a lover, Emily. And the two of you were caught in the CCTV camera. What more proof do you want? I showed Liam everything." My sister yelled again and sat back on the chair while her chest rose and fell. No matter what I said, there is no way for me to refute their claim. The footage showed me coming out of a hotel room with a man but I knew I was drugged by someone because this happened a few months back before I got pregnant. I didn't even know when I got home but I knew I was brought home by someone. Undoubtedly, Liam is the only man I have come to rely on. I have loved Liam all my life but my sister ruined everything for me. I took a few steps towards Liam but he raised his hand again to stop me. The divorce papers were on the floor for me to sign but I couldn't bring myself to. “I know you aren't going to leave this house, Emily, and this is why I'm going to leave. At least you should gain something for staying with me for two years just to cheat on me with a lover you met a few months ago." Liam said with an indifferent tone, which made me swallow the lump at the back of my throat. I don't want to cry again. God! “That's not true. Please, Liam, I love you. I was framed." My voice was barely above a whisper, but Liam heard me. Liam chuckled with sarcasm and raked his hand through his hair. He stood up from the couch and took bold steps toward me while I took a few steps back in fear. “You should know that what existed between us is just a contract marriage, Emily. The moment you cheated on me, it was over between us." "Liam, please, listen to me. We can do a DNA test once I give birth. No man touched me except you, Liam. Believe me," I pleaded with a shaky voice. My knees wobble slightly but Liam's next words shattered my existence. “You think I have the patience to wait till you give birth to that bastard you call my son?" Liam's words were like venom to my entire being and I trembled. My sister gave me a triumphant look but I was too weak to fight back. I don't know if it was pain I saw in his eyes but it vanished when he blocked his eyes. My mouth opened agape when my sister walked towards me and pushed me slightly. “Don't look at him as if he is the one guilty. You and I both know that you aren't over Williams." My sister said and tugged on Liam's hand. Liam took his car key and adrenaline rushed in, which made me rush towards him. “Whatever my sister told you is not true Liam. Believe me," I pleaded, and my heart ached. Liam slapped my hand away and took a glance at me. ”Sign the divorce papers, Emily, and I don't want to ever see your face again." I froze on the spot like a statue. I fell on my knees and tugged on the hem of Liam's trousers. My tears wet the tiled floor and I pleaded silently. “You are too disgusting, Emily!" My sister yelled and kicked me in the stomach. My face contoured in pain and I shed tears when I felt the pain in my stomach. A scream threatened to fall from my lips. She kicked me again and my back hit the ice cellar door with a loud bang. Liam stopped my sister from hitting me again when a painful groan escaped my lips. “She is not worth it," were the last words I heard from Liam before my breathing became shallow. Blood soaked my thighs as I watched death right in front of me. “Please, help me," I said with eyes filled with tears, my heart breaking into pieces, but I was scared. I was so scared of dying. “A... Anyone please." But no one! No one came to my rescue. I tried to crawl but the sharp pain in my stomach made me bite my lips. “Ah," a painful groan escaped my lips, clouding my head. I heard something creak which made me tilt my head to the back. The ice cellar door was already breaking. My eyes widened in fear when I saw it crashing down on me which made me close my eyes tight. My lips shake as I whisper silent prayers while the darkness engulfs me whole. Thud... Beep...Beep...Beep. “Doctor, she is awake!" I heard a distant voice and the smell of drugs assaulted my nostrils. I heard the door swung open, followed by rapid footsteps. “Give me a flashlight," I heard a solemn voice say. “Her fingers moved just now." The person who spoke sounded scared, but I was more focused on wrapping my head around what just happened. One. Two. Three. My eyes fluttered open, only to fall on a pair of dark eyes. A man wearing a white coat was looking down at me with a small flashlight in his hand. "Ma'am, can you see how many fingers I have up?" I blinked my eyes a few times looking at the white ceiling. Where was I? Realization dawned on me. I was in the hospital. I managed to sit up with the help of the doctor and my head kept ringing. How did I get here? Where am I? What is happening? All these questions flooded my mind as I looked around. “You were shocked when the car almost caused an accident, but there is no internal or external injury, ma'am." The man standing far away from me left the room, but I recognized him. He is my husband's bodyguard but what am I doing here? What is happening to me? I listened to the doctor, not saying a word as I kept wondering what happened. One minute, I was lying on the floor in the pool of my blood, and now, here. “I have some good news to share with you, ma'am. You are four weeks pregnant," the doctor said and gave me the report. Pregnant? Me? But I was pregnant the whole time and... I looked at my stomach only to see that my baby bump had disappeared. My stomach is flat and my feet are not sore. All my questions were answered when I checked the doctor's report. April 30, 2024. I rubbed my hands with my palm and checked the report again. It was indeed six months ago before Liam presented the divorce papers to me. I was reborn! It felt like a dream but then the scene was unfolding right in front of me. “Doctor, I am pregnant?" “Yes, Mrs. Nolan. You are pregnant." Of course, I remembered this scene from my previous life. I was wearing the same blue dress. I was on my way to the signing event of my first comic book when the car suddenly hit a truck. If I am right, Liam is going to walk in with my sister, and I will divulge the pregnancy news to him. No, this can't happen again. This is a chance for me to make things right and not repeat the same mistake. This time, I'm going to act differently. I won't let Liam trample on me again. A lone tear escaped the corner of my eyes which I wiped off instantly. Before the doctor could leave, I tugged in the hem of his coat. “Please, can you not tell my husband? I would like to deliver the great news to him myself." I sounded desperate but I don't care right now. “Of course, Mrs. Nolan. You are free to get discharged now." “Thank you, Doctor." As soon as the doctor left, I put on my shoes and made my way to the parking lot while Liam's bodyguard kept on apologizing for almost causing my death. When I got to the parking lot, I saw Liam and my sister in the same car in a kissing position. Maybe they weren't kissing, I'm not sure because they were facing each other. They got out of the car, and I took in a quick breath involuntarily when Liam walked towards me slowly. “Emily, I was so scared when I heard you had an accident. Are you okay and you, Drake?" Liam said, pointing to his bodyguard. Rage fueled inside me like a volcano eruption. My gaze was filled with fury when I saw the pretentious sad face my sister had as she walked towards me. “Emily, I followed Liam here when I heard..." “I want a divorce, Liam. I'm done with this marriage," I cut in before my sister could complete her statement.EMILY'S POV My heart kept pounding hard as I made my way to the car while Liam's bodyguard got into the driver's seat. “Take me back to the penthouse," I said with bloodshot eyes as soon as I locked the car door. I took a long deep breath, trying to tame the anger that threatened to burst any second. There were three knocks on the car window before I finally heard Liam's voice. “Emily, tell me what is wrong," Liam asked, but I didn't bother to look at him. I was pissed to see him with my sister again after everything he has done. I don't even know how my sister got to know I was in the hospital. I want to leave this place right now. “Won't you get this car out of here right now?" I said to the bodyguard with my voice octave at peak. He stepped on the pedal and drove out of the parking lot at the speed of light. I watched Liam stand in the parking lot through the mirror, but I didn't bother to have any ounce of regret for him. I remember sharing the good news with him in my pas
EMILY'S POVMaybe I heard wrong because Liam suddenly stepped back only to sit on our matrimonial bed. He crossed his long legs over another and undid the tie around his neck.“What do you mean Liam? Why a month?" I asked with uncertainty. The chandelier cast its soft glow on Liam, and he appeared even more attractive.“Just like you said" Liam began and undid the next two buttons of his shirt. His taut muscles caught my eyes and butterflies seemed to flap their wings in my stomach. This was one of the reasons women wished to bow their feet at Liam's feet. He is just too perfect and too handsome and I wasn't an exception to not get affected by his charm.Liam's next words seemed to bring me out of my world, and I shot a glare at him.“We were both forced into this marriage, Emily, and I won't stop you from leaving." Liam declared with confidence.Good. Liam wasn't going to deny the claim about my sister which is fine. I was right all along.“Then why after a month?" I asked without a
LIAM'S POVI rested my back against the Porsche while I occasionally glanced through my wristwatch. It's already past 6 P.M. but Emily hasn't come out since I stood outside. It's unlike Emily to get this late at dressing up because she has always been quick.Everything about Emily today has been full of surprises and it makes me wonder if she somehow hit her head against the hard floor during the car accident.I wasn't even sure if this was Emily's way of paying me back after the fruitless marriage of two years we both had or because of the loveless marriage. She even accused me of cheating with her sister which was something I couldn't deny because Aysel has been trying everything possible to make me send me green signals.I will do anything for Emily but not divorce. Divorce is never an option and not having sex with Emily...No, I won't call it sex. Making love to Emily is something I will never get tired of. Sex with Emily has always been amazing and it took me a great effort not
EMILY'S POV The time seemed to stop the moment Liam crashed his lips over mine. Maybe I was hallucinating but I wasn't sure either if this was an illusion. Though it felt so real. His mint smell enveloped me, throwing me into a whirlwind of emotions while my heart pounded loudly against my ribcage. Goosebumps spread across my exposed skin, and I shivered against his tall frame. His free hand rested on my waist and I felt so small, so powerless and fragile against Liam's chest. Liam would never kiss me. He never did except when we were having sex, but what changed? I shook the stupid thought that filled my head, almost making my head fuzzy away. I pressed my hand on his chest, trying to push him away but Liam didn't bulge. Who am I kidding? Liam has spent most of his leisure time in the gym. There was nothing he was not good at, even the kissing part. My hormones took charge, and I moaned into the kiss like molten magma. The sound that escaped my lips scared me because Liam sudd
EMILY'S POVLiam walked away, leaving me and his father outside. I didn't try to stop him because I knew Liam and his father were like a cat and rat. They aren't on good terms and sometimes, I do blame myself and think maybe it was because his father forced us to be together.I was still angry that Liam kissed me right in front of everyone. I know this was part of the rules in the contract I signed in my past life.We are supposed to act like a real couple whenever we are outside but the moment we stepped into the car or got home, everything changed. I wouldn't hesitate to trample on Liam today, humiliating him was part of my plan of coming here.“Liam is still as cold as ever but I am glad he is warm to you. He can be difficult sometimes, but try to understand him," Liam's father assured me in a warm tone. I wished I could tell him things weren't like what he thought because Liam was in love with my sister, not me. “Thank you, Father. I know you will become close friends at some po
“Woah. I guess everyone could see that. Mrs. Nolan and Aysel are wearing the same dress." The MC spoke into the microphone.I smiled at Aysel who managed to smile back at me. She must be weeping inside now because I remembered how she boasted about how much the dress cost in my past life. She had blabbered that they were just two copies of it and she was probably the first one to get it which was why I begged Chelsea to get the same dress. It was worth the trouble after all, I want to see if her ego has been crushed now. This is just the beginning of Aysel's misery.“This is the definition of a happy family. This is what we call true love between two sisters." The MC continued while the people clapped their hands with a smile on their faces.Aysel walked towards me and pulled me in for a hug. I hugged her back, returning the gesture.“You surprised me, Emily. You should have let me know you will be getting the same dress." Aysel said with gritted teeth. Her voice was barely above a wh
The party was already coming to an end after Laura and my father gave their last speech. The people were already starting to disperse. I took my purse with me and left the hall because of the sudden need to empty my bladder. The space was empty when I got inside. I stepped inside one of the stalls and got my thing done. I was ready to step out of the stall when the door was pushed open, followed by echoing footsteps. “Did you see the way Aysel danced with Liam Nolan? Do you think they have things going on between them?" I pressed my ear against the door frame to listen to their conversation better. “I wouldn't be surprised if the two are dating. Have you forgotten the way Aysel was when she heard about Emily getting married to Liam? She nearly killed herself." My jaw dropped when I heard what the girl said and I shook my head in disbelief. My lips trembled when I listened to more of their conversation. I recognize the voice. It was none other than Aysel's friends. I recognize t
“Liam, stop it. I told you I wanted a divorce," I said but no words came out of my lips. It was all in my head and maybe a part of me wanted this. Maybe a part of me still hopes Liam will eventually come to love me and not my sister but this is just wishful thinking. What kind of temptation is this? “Look at you getting red, Emily. Tell me," Liam said with sarcasm before moving his hand resting down the side of my body. “You want this" He said his hot mint breath fell on my neck. My body flushed as his hand trailed the curve of my body. I almost closed my eyes to enjoy this beautiful feeling and also let it take over my entire being as desires pulsated through me. Liam took a few steps back and pinched the middle of his eyebrows, leaving me all alone and I felt alone. ”What is the meaning of what you just did, Liam?" I asked after taking a deep breath. My face is still as red as a tomato because I suddenly feel hot from inside. He already riled me up without touching
I didn't know what came over me, but my emotions were a mess the moment I breathed in his scent. Vincent hugged me, pressing his hard chest against my front, and I knew someone was screaming Yes in her head right now.Typical Chelsea's way of saying her plan had worked and she was right about Vincent.“I missed you, Emily," Vincent replied in a warm tone, releasing his arm around me, and I took two steps back.My face flushed pink, embarrassed by the way he suddenly said that, but Vincent didn't act that way; he didn't count it as a big deal like me. Instead, he held my hand as we walked towards Chelsea. “This must be the friend you are talking about. Chelsea right?" Vincent asked and Chelsea rolled her eyes at him in a playful way.Of course, they already met once or twice. Perhaps Vincent had already forgotten Chelsea's face and couldn't recollect her but I didn't stop gisting him about Chelsea during the times he was away.Chelsea couldn't hide her smirk as she winked at me. “Yes,
EMILY'S POVDecember came quickly and the people in Spain were trying their best to fill the streets with Christmas trees and lights. Maybe that is their way of celebrating Christmas but everywhere was bustling with Christmas songs.Ryan was asleep in the crib when I made my way downstairs and saw Chelsea busy watching the television. She was so engrossed and began to sing along to the Christmas song. She didn't even notice my presence until I decided to speak.“Didn't I tell you Vincent will be coming back today?" I asked Chelsea. She switched off the TV and sprang up from the chair, her eyes beaming at me.Chelsea yawned softly before parting her soft pink lips. “Yes, you told me and if you look well, I already tidy up the room. What do you think about the interior?" Chelsea responded and my eyes darted around the room to see what she was talking about. She was indeed right because everywhere was sparkling with neatness. I am sure Mateo helped Chelsea but I couldn't say it out loud
EMILY'S POV(FIVE MONTHS LATER)I was surprised when I received Dad's call this morning. It's been over two months since we last talked. Though I couldn't tell him I gave birth a week ago, Dad didn't stop pestering me to come home and settle things with Liam.He even informed me about Liam's father trying to get my contact but I begged him not to release my contact number to anyone even if it was Aysel.”Are you sure you won't be coming home now?" Chelsea asked as she held Ryan, my newborn baby, in her hand. I called Chelsea here the last two weeks when I was almost due to give birth. She got here through the plane and met me at Vincent's place.Vincent has tried a lot and helped me through my pregnancy. I would be an ingrate if I held him down here in Spain when he was supposed to be in Los Angeles to secure a contract.Chelsea has helped me a lot during the past few days. Even today, it was Chelsea that even woke me up after a sleepless night of trying to breastfeed Ryan through th
LIAM'S POV“Wait, don't tell me you sent Zayn to Aysel?" Rylan asked with his eyebrows quirked up the moment he saw me emerge at the door out of the blue when I was supposed to be inside the hotel room with Aysel.“I thought you were planning to have fun with her? Or was I wrong?" Rylan inquired, standing up from the seat.”Maybe I would have if she didn't try to drug me." I replied in a cold tone which made the creases on Rylan's forehead deepen. “Aysel has tried everything to win me back, and the truth is, I might give her a chance," I said in a quiet tone and pulled the hair at the back of my head.“I thought you claimed you don't love her even when Maddox pestered you about it." Rylan took a deep breath and exhaled through his parted lips.“Maybe I was delusional before. I might have finally realized that I am in love with her now." I responded and took the Vodka bottle on the glass table separating me from Rylan.“Fuck!" Rylan cussed with gritted teeth as he sat back on the couc
(AYSEL'S POV)A low giggling sound left the back of my throat when I saw my reflection in the mirror. I can't wait for Liam to gulp down the entire wine in the glass cup so we can have the best sex of our lives compared to whatever Emily did in the past. Call it greediness, but no man has ever satisfied me or met up to Liam's standard in any way, which was why I am going to seize this moment, now that he was heartbroken because Emily cheated on him.Humming a song under my breath, I took off my gown and stared at my reflection in the mirror. The lingerie looked sexy on me. It was one of Mum's lifelong wishes for me to get married to a wealthy man who would also support in whatever business she add in mind. All I needed to do was get pregnant for Liam, and everything would be different.Meanwhile, the aphrodisiac I took was already working in my system, and I could feel my body getting hot with each passing second. My core was heating and vibrating, and I could feel my clitoris getti
LIAM'S POV”Hey Liam" Aysel called softly like a kitten which got Rylan's brows furrowed with confusion. It's good to know that Maddox wasn't here because he would have told me he was right about me making out with Aysel behind Emily, and that was what probably pulled the trigger for the divorce.Aysel didn't stop there, instead, she placed her disgusting hand on my shoulder and I almost gagged when I smelled her heavy perfume. I let her do whatever she had in mind because, seriously, I wasn't planning to use her to plan my revenge on Emily, but tonight, I don't know if it was because of the alcohol, even though I only gulped down half of the bottle, I didn't feel a little bit better and I want to break her.No amount of alcohol could quench my thirst. “Hi," Aysel called softly, looking at Rylan's way, which only relaxed into the chair, watching the scene unfold.“I told you to forget about her, Liam. She is not worth it, and I can give you whatever you want," Aysel said in a flirta
LIAM'S POVAysel didn't stop finding a way to get in touch despite making it clear to both my workers at home and the office not to let Aysel. She seems to have been monitoring me for all these days, and it makes me wonder if Aysel has always been clingy like this or if I was the one who didn't pay more attention to her in the past.”Sir, the car is ready to be taken out," Thierry said behind me.I was sitting casually on the couch, busy surfing through my phone after a long day at work. I didn't even know when Thierry walked inside.Though I remember telling him, I would need the Mercedes Benz before 6 pm. Perhaps it was because my attention wasn't focused here; regardless, Thierry reminded me.“I will be with you shortly," I replied, standing up from the couch. “Alright, sir," He replied with a bow before walking out of the room.Picking up the car keys on the glass center table, I checked the time on my Rolex wristwatch to check the time. It was just five minutes to 6 pm.I walked
“You know your Dad didn't see you that way, Emily?" Chelsea asked, and I nodded my head because she was fucking right.“Still, I don't want to cause an endless fight in the future. I would like to take care of my child for now," I replied, and Chelsea sighed deeply.“How could I forget about that Emily?" Chelsea inquired and I rolled my eyes at how Dramatic she suddenly became.”You are such a duck head buddy." I said with sarcasm and Chelsea laughed out loud.“Anyone would think you are joking right now Emily but I know this is what you want. I respect your decision, baby," Chelsea replied.“I love you, Chelsea," I said in between my smile.“If I told you I don't Love you, I don't think I will have a good night's rest today," Chelsea answered.Though she is not with me right now, I know she is trying her best not to act like she missed me. I know she did.“I miss you, Chelsea," I confessed with my lips set into thin lines.Chelsea wasn't there for me in my past life but in this lifet
Vincent saw me off to my room and bid me good night before walking back to his room. I closed the door behind me and slammed my back against the door with a light thud.Breathing through my parted lips, I couldn't help but heave a sigh of relief because, somehow, Vincent made me forget what had happened recently. His presence made me feel whole.”It's fine, Emily," I said in my head and wet my lower lips with my tongue. My phone rang again in my hand. Checking it, Chelsea's name flashed on the phone screen. This is the fourth time she will be calling me in the space of thirty minutes while I was busy eating downstairs.“Hello, Chelsea," I said, walking down to the side of the queen-size bed. The chandelier hung at the ceiling Illuminated the dark room. I sat on the edge of the bed, bringing my phone close to my ears.Chelsea's voice broke through the speaker of my phone. Instead of returning my greetings, she goes straight to the point.“You have seen it, right?" She asked, her voice
