EMILY'S POV
My heart kept pounding hard as I made my way to the car while Liam's bodyguard got into the driver's seat. “Take me back to the penthouse," I said with bloodshot eyes as soon as I locked the car door. I took a long deep breath, trying to tame the anger that threatened to burst any second. There were three knocks on the car window before I finally heard Liam's voice. “Emily, tell me what is wrong," Liam asked, but I didn't bother to look at him. I was pissed to see him with my sister again after everything he has done. I don't even know how my sister got to know I was in the hospital. I want to leave this place right now. “Won't you get this car out of here right now?" I said to the bodyguard with my voice octave at peak. He stepped on the pedal and drove out of the parking lot at the speed of light. I watched Liam stand in the parking lot through the mirror, but I didn't bother to have any ounce of regret for him. I remember sharing the good news with him in my past life before the sudden change in his behavior. I knew my sister was the one who made everything happen but now I'm tired and pissed off. I want to leave this toxic family and move far away from Liam and my stepmother. Soon, the car was pulled to a halt in the parking lot and not long after, Liam also drove his car inside the mansion. My heels made soft clicking sounds on the tiled floor as I made my way inside the mansion. I ignored the maids' greeting as I made my way up the stairs. “Emily!" Liam's voice thundered behind me as I walked forward. He seems to be angry but he has no fucking right to be when he made life unbearable for me to live in. I stormed into our room and it was just like before. Just like when I first met Liam, we made love passionately on this bed. My heart sank when I saw our wedding picture on the wall with a beautiful smile on my lips. “Not anymore, Emily. You will leave this place," I chant in my head before pulling the wardrobe open. Liam's clothes were neatly arranged on the left side of the wardrobe while my clothes occupied the rest of the space. By the time I pulled out the suitcase, Liam had already stormed into the room. I began to pack my clothes out inside the suitcase when Liam suddenly held my hand in his. For a second, the time seemed to stop when his cold hand held my wrist in a tight hold. My heart yearned for his touch and it suddenly made me realize how much I have missed Liam in my past life. “Emily, what are you doing?" Liam asked with his jaw clenched while his other hand was bound into a fist. Liam's voice seems to knock me out of my daydreaming world and I remember all the pains I endured in Liam's hand in my past life. ”What does it seem like I am doing?" I snapped back. “I told you I'm done with you. I want a divorce." I said with gritted teeth when I finally turned to face Liam. My breath seemed to cease when I saw Liam's beautiful face up close. Maybe that was why I fell for him first. It was just me all along, he never loved me, which was fine considering the fact my father was the one who arranged the marriage, and he gave me a contract to sign, but we made love. Liam scoffed and took two steps back in shock or maybe I was the one hallucinating because he is never the type to let out his emotions. “A divorce, Emily? Did you hit your head while in the car accident?" Liam suddenly asked with his eyebrows raised while his forehead formed deep creases. My heart broke when I realized I might cry at any moment, but I steeled myself. “Enough Emily. You have to do this. To save yourself," I said in my head. In a fit of anger, I jerked my wrist away from Liam's hold. Liam seems taken aback by my sudden change of behavior. “What the fuck are you talking about, Emily? Do you want to divorce me with no perfect excuse? Maybe you have forgotten who I am," Liam added as he tucked his hand inside his pocket. I raised my chin high, glaring at him, but his cold eyes seemed to draw my attention back to look at Liam properly. Cold, heartless, and ruthless billionaire. I am sure he wouldn't let me go like that. “You heard me right, Liam. I'm done with you and I don't want anything to do with you again..." I said only to get cut off by Liam when he suddenly walked towards me. I could taste bile in my tongue and there was this sudden need to slap him because my hand was already itching. “I need you to fucking tell me what is wrong, and then I will let you know my decision. And don't you dare lie to me, Emily?" Liam said with gritted teeth and clicked his tongue in distaste. His words seemed to cut the last strap of my patience because my voice suddenly flared up in anger. “Fine," I said, flaring my hands up. “Care to explain to me the kind of relationship you had with my sister?" I asked with the corner of my lips pulled while I crossed my arm under my bosom. I Liam raked his hand through his hair and muttered something under his breath. “Cut to the chase, Emily." “Why can't I ask for a divorce, Liam?" I snapped only to see Liam stand still. His firm lips were pressed tight together and I knew that he wanted to say something but he chose to listen to me. “I knew all along that you wanted to marry my sister, but you should have respected my opinion until the contract we both signed expired." I stopped and continued. ”I saw you kissing my sister in the car. Right there in the parking lot!" I screamed like a feral beast and I saw a flicker of emotion through Liam's eyes. Though I am glad I didn't cry or hang up on him like a crazy fan girl who just sees her idol, I wasn't satisfied, either. “Is that all you got, Emily? Is that the only excuse you got for your sudden rage of divorce?" Liam scoffed at me, his eyes narrow. Maybe I would have believed him if I didn't see him in that compromising position. I would have agreed with him if I didn't know about what happened in my past life. “I know you are going to deny it, Liam, but you should know that I saw you. I won't argue with you or anything, just call the lawyer." I said and Liam turned his back to me only to hit the wall. I flinched when he suddenly looked at me and parted his lips. “It seems you already made up your mind," Liam asked with new vigor and I rolled my eyes. “A divorce will satisfy me, Liam, and you know we were both forced into this marriage," I said calmly, even though I sincerely wanted to marry Liam back then. The room fell silent, and if a pin should drop now, it would echo in the room. “Fine Emily. I will divorce you," Liam finally said, and I blinked my eyes repeatedly. I am glad and also sad because a part of me wishes Liam would beg me to stay but he didn't do that. “F...Fine." I stuttered like a little kitten. “Call your lawyer and let me sign the papers now." I rushed the words out of my mouth. Liam's eyes scrutinized me before settling in my bosom and I gulped the nervousness brewing inside me. Why would Liam Nolan suddenly look at me with those dark eyes as if I am the most beautiful woman in the world? He took another step and his hot breath fell on my lips. “I will divorce you after a month, Emily." I heard Liam next to me, and my world seemed to stop spinning.EMILY'S POVMaybe I heard wrong because Liam suddenly stepped back only to sit on our matrimonial bed. He crossed his long legs over another and undid the tie around his neck.“What do you mean Liam? Why a month?" I asked with uncertainty. The chandelier cast its soft glow on Liam, and he appeared even more attractive.“Just like you said" Liam began and undid the next two buttons of his shirt. His taut muscles caught my eyes and butterflies seemed to flap their wings in my stomach. This was one of the reasons women wished to bow their feet at Liam's feet. He is just too perfect and too handsome and I wasn't an exception to not get affected by his charm.Liam's next words seemed to bring me out of my world, and I shot a glare at him.“We were both forced into this marriage, Emily, and I won't stop you from leaving." Liam declared with confidence.Good. Liam wasn't going to deny the claim about my sister which is fine. I was right all along.“Then why after a month?" I asked without a
LIAM'S POVI rested my back against the Porsche while I occasionally glanced through my wristwatch. It's already past 6 P.M. but Emily hasn't come out since I stood outside. It's unlike Emily to get this late at dressing up because she has always been quick.Everything about Emily today has been full of surprises and it makes me wonder if she somehow hit her head against the hard floor during the car accident.I wasn't even sure if this was Emily's way of paying me back after the fruitless marriage of two years we both had or because of the loveless marriage. She even accused me of cheating with her sister which was something I couldn't deny because Aysel has been trying everything possible to make me send me green signals.I will do anything for Emily but not divorce. Divorce is never an option and not having sex with Emily...No, I won't call it sex. Making love to Emily is something I will never get tired of. Sex with Emily has always been amazing and it took me a great effort not
EMILY'S POV The time seemed to stop the moment Liam crashed his lips over mine. Maybe I was hallucinating but I wasn't sure either if this was an illusion. Though it felt so real. His mint smell enveloped me, throwing me into a whirlwind of emotions while my heart pounded loudly against my ribcage. Goosebumps spread across my exposed skin, and I shivered against his tall frame. His free hand rested on my waist and I felt so small, so powerless and fragile against Liam's chest. Liam would never kiss me. He never did except when we were having sex, but what changed? I shook the stupid thought that filled my head, almost making my head fuzzy away. I pressed my hand on his chest, trying to push him away but Liam didn't bulge. Who am I kidding? Liam has spent most of his leisure time in the gym. There was nothing he was not good at, even the kissing part. My hormones took charge, and I moaned into the kiss like molten magma. The sound that escaped my lips scared me because Liam sudd
EMILY'S POVLiam walked away, leaving me and his father outside. I didn't try to stop him because I knew Liam and his father were like a cat and rat. They aren't on good terms and sometimes, I do blame myself and think maybe it was because his father forced us to be together.I was still angry that Liam kissed me right in front of everyone. I know this was part of the rules in the contract I signed in my past life.We are supposed to act like a real couple whenever we are outside but the moment we stepped into the car or got home, everything changed. I wouldn't hesitate to trample on Liam today, humiliating him was part of my plan of coming here.“Liam is still as cold as ever but I am glad he is warm to you. He can be difficult sometimes, but try to understand him," Liam's father assured me in a warm tone. I wished I could tell him things weren't like what he thought because Liam was in love with my sister, not me. “Thank you, Father. I know you will become close friends at some po
“Woah. I guess everyone could see that. Mrs. Nolan and Aysel are wearing the same dress." The MC spoke into the microphone.I smiled at Aysel who managed to smile back at me. She must be weeping inside now because I remembered how she boasted about how much the dress cost in my past life. She had blabbered that they were just two copies of it and she was probably the first one to get it which was why I begged Chelsea to get the same dress. It was worth the trouble after all, I want to see if her ego has been crushed now. This is just the beginning of Aysel's misery.“This is the definition of a happy family. This is what we call true love between two sisters." The MC continued while the people clapped their hands with a smile on their faces.Aysel walked towards me and pulled me in for a hug. I hugged her back, returning the gesture.“You surprised me, Emily. You should have let me know you will be getting the same dress." Aysel said with gritted teeth. Her voice was barely above a wh
The party was already coming to an end after Laura and my father gave their last speech. The people were already starting to disperse. I took my purse with me and left the hall because of the sudden need to empty my bladder. The space was empty when I got inside. I stepped inside one of the stalls and got my thing done. I was ready to step out of the stall when the door was pushed open, followed by echoing footsteps. “Did you see the way Aysel danced with Liam Nolan? Do you think they have things going on between them?" I pressed my ear against the door frame to listen to their conversation better. “I wouldn't be surprised if the two are dating. Have you forgotten the way Aysel was when she heard about Emily getting married to Liam? She nearly killed herself." My jaw dropped when I heard what the girl said and I shook my head in disbelief. My lips trembled when I listened to more of their conversation. I recognize the voice. It was none other than Aysel's friends. I recognize t
“Liam, stop it. I told you I wanted a divorce," I said but no words came out of my lips. It was all in my head and maybe a part of me wanted this. Maybe a part of me still hopes Liam will eventually come to love me and not my sister but this is just wishful thinking. What kind of temptation is this? “Look at you getting red, Emily. Tell me," Liam said with sarcasm before moving his hand resting down the side of my body. “You want this" He said his hot mint breath fell on my neck. My body flushed as his hand trailed the curve of my body. I almost closed my eyes to enjoy this beautiful feeling and also let it take over my entire being as desires pulsated through me. Liam took a few steps back and pinched the middle of his eyebrows, leaving me all alone and I felt alone. ”What is the meaning of what you just did, Liam?" I asked after taking a deep breath. My face is still as red as a tomato because I suddenly feel hot from inside. He already riled me up without touching
Liam burst into a fit of laughter the moment I uttered those words. I frowned, not knowing what prompted the reaction.”If you are going to keep on weighing your options because of that claim of yours about Aysel, I would love to see your proof, Emily." Liam said, straightening his back.“You can as well answer my question. Just a yes or no would do, Mr. Nolan," I replied before taking my purse from the floor while a part of me waited for the devil's reply.“Will my answer satisfy you, Emily? I doubted that, but don't take my words lightly. I meant everything I said," Liam said before storming out of the room while my eyes trailed over him until the door was shut. The moment Liam left, I slumped to the floor while my hand didn't stop shaking. There is one more thing I forgot to remember about Liam.He is the type to never go back on his words and I mean it. Liam is going to divorce me like I said but that doesn't mean he will let me be like that without trying to get connected to me p
EMILY'S POVToday, we will be having a meeting at the hall and at night a ball party will take place and we were all advised to come in two pairs. I got Xavier ready for school and made sure their school bus came to pick him up before I eventually left for work. When I got to my car side, ready to put the key in and unlock the door, a text came in on my phone which was from Theodore. I would have thought it was some random person but he specified himself by typing out his name."This is Theodore. Good morning Miss Emily. I don't know if you already have a partner but if not, can you be my date for tonight?" The message read and a smile graced my lips."Of course, I would love that," I typed back and clicked send.I put my bag on the back seat and started the car. The guards pulled the gate open and I drove out of the mansion. I arrived at the location and got down. When I walked in, some of the staff working in the marketing team were already attending to some customers while some inv
EMILY'S POVI prepared the tea and poured it into a mug. When I walked back to the sitting room, Vincent was descending the stairs. He took Xavier from me when we got inside and volunteered to take him to bed.He sat on the couch while I gave him the tea. We can actually talk over this but I know deep down that I don't feel like having a conversation with him.Vincent has been acting strange, and I already have it in mind to tell them to go and visit a therapist because of this illness."What do you have to say?" I said and sat on the couch opposite him. "I know I wasn't supposed to give an excuse but I was actually out of the city for some days because of my business. I should have picked up your calls, but I was so busy and didn't even have time to check my phone call." Vincent explained and placed the mug on the table."Vincent, there is no point in explaining. I think I shouldn't have acted like that when you are busy trying to work. I won't call you again unnecessarily." I said
EMILY’S POVChelsea changed her dress back to her previous clothes. She paid for the dress with the card her fiancé gave to her. They informed us that the dress would be sent to Chelsea place and their wedding was just around the corner. Once the date is fixed she agreed to let me know. When we drove back to Chelsea's store it was already past 8:30 pm. We made our way inside and there was no sign of Xavier crying in the store. The sales girls are still in the store waiting for their boss before they will close the store.“Where is Xavier?” Chelsea asked one of them, but before they could give Chelsea a reply, Vincent came into view.“Hi Emily,” He said casually with Xavier in his arms. He was already sleeping on his shoulder.“Vincent,” I said and walked towards him to close the distance between us. “You didn't inform me you are coming here,” I said, my voice bleeding with surprise, and he must have noticed that.“I tried to call you, but my phone was switched off, so I couldn't put a
EMILY'S POV When I stepped out of the dressing room, I was expecting the issue to have been resolved but to my astonishment, Aysel is still trying to look for ways to save face. Chelsea came to my side, stealing a few glances at Aysel. "She might get arrested if she chose not to take your help today. I didn't know she was too broke." Chelsea said, and I am sure she was referring to when she told Aysel that she was after a fake product. "That's the price she had to pay for being a nuisance. She is practically grovelling right now and none of her friends will even be able to save her." I replied and a sigh left my lips. It's fun watching her act this way but I will try to save her this once before she would regret it. "Why can't he just call on Liam then? Didn't she say they were dating?" Chelsea posed the question to me, and hearing his name made me remember the way he kissed my cheeks in the woods. "He should try but I am sure he will help out if she does. So what is stoppi
EMILY'S POVI know something smells fishy and Aysel will not randomly show up here if she doesn't have something up her sleeve. That is something my gut keeps telling me."You should try this on," she said, and I don't know why; I just feel like playing along. Sooner or later, I will get to know about her plan. John will make the necessary findings and try to tell me what is wrong. This is part of the reason she didn't intimidate."Don't. Just Chase her out" Chelsea tried to whisper in my ear for only me to hear. However, I wanted to pretend that I was actually the bride. I will try to make Chelsea understand later but now, I want to act like I came for the wedding dress like she suspected."Okay. Let me see if it fits" I said and took the dress from her before walking towards the sales girl."I would like to try the dress on," I said and the sales girl took a better look at the dress."You can do that, ma'am, but we don't allow clients to randomly check out the dress. You will have
AYSEL'S POVAfter Andrew was arrested by the prosecutor, I have been looking for ways to bail him out because he was eventually detained and all evidence points to him that he is the one who was controlling the dangerous business he is into.I can't rely on anyone for now because if Father should make Emily the CEO that will be the end for me. My friends will mock me and my existence will be nothing. How could he be so cruel to me when he knew I was his only daughter? If only Mother didn't bring Emily home, then things would have been different.I sipped the wine slowly and let myself drown in the taste of it. But then, my phone rang, interrupting the peaceful atmosphere. It was a call from the Hitman I hired."Hello, Ma'am. I have a report to make," He said the moment I picked up, and I want to listen to whatever he has to say if it's concerning Emily.I have been looking for ways to get a picture of her and Vincent together so that a big scandal will break out."I decided to tail he
EMILY'S POV"To spite you up. I'm not interested in her, just you." Liam declared, and I rubbed my arm slightly."So you think hearing that is going to make me feel better?" I asked him. He wanted to say something, but I cut in before he could come up with another silly excuse."Oh wow. The almighty Liam is actually interested in me" I said in a mocking tone. "Do you seriously expect me to say that?" I spat but that didn't seem to annoy him."I wouldn't expect that from you but if you are willing to, who am I to stop you." He said, like a maniac and a pervert. He is the type to get invested in this kind of conversation."The game will soon be over and I will need to excuse myself," I whispered and walked away, trying to get away from him because I couldn't stop gawking at his chest."You forget this," I heard Liam say, and I didn't bother to turn back to look at him. He must be up to one of his tricks again.Suddenly, my leg slipped on the leaves and I found myself falling again for t
EMILY'S POV"You can stick to me to look for the materials. I have a good sense of direction too," Mr Theodore said, and I know he was actually looking out for me. Well, I didn't even know he was this outspoken because we rarely see each other as we work on different floors. "Thank you for your kind suggestion, Mr Theodore. I will also try to look out for the materials myself," I said, and a smile graced my lips.Mr Theodore smiled too and showed me the way. "I heard it's not that big," He said, and I looked at him from behind."I mean the woods, so it will be easier to find what we are looking for," He said, and I nodded my head."Okay," I finally replied and continued to walk.We all walked in different directions, looking for where the materials were hidden. Both white and blue tried their best to look out for anything odd among the green leaves and wood."Have seen one!" Someone from the Blue team shouted. He was holding a piece of drawing paper containing Bulldozer in his hand
EMILY'S POV"Next team, please," Mr Vaughn said. I and Mr Theodore stepped forward and sat on the chair. He already told me things about himself but I am afraid I might still lose something. There was no close audience for us like when we were the one looking at Rose and Liam. They were informed to go and sit down. Even as they were making their way to the tent, I read Rose's lips before she faded from my view."I'm sorry for making us lose some points," she apologized, and I didn't really want to know what Liam's reply was.The people present were actually looking at them with envy and someone even said they would make a great couple. It's all good. I just need to focus and try to win this round, maybe we could lead."Okay, now we are starting." The speaker said and proceeded to ask his question."Did you know what Mr Theodore actually wants in a woman?" She asked and I swear, I already know I am going to lose this because Mr Theodore didn't mention it somehow like this.I am sure he
