In the Norfield pack. Inside Alpha Teddy's mansion, Charlotte Mateo, a twenty-two-year-old she-wolf, waited for her husband, the Alpha of the pack, to return home, but she hadn't seen him.

She knew he had been avoiding her lately, but as the Luna of the pack, she couldn't leave him or end their loveless marriage.

She was his wife for four years, and his father and hers were friends. Her father was the Beta of the pack, and to seal their familiar friendship, they arranged for Teddy to marry her.

Charlotte was 18 years old when she got betrothed to Teddy Hudson.

Teddy was the second son of Alpha Lucas Hudson. As his elder brother traveled out to the human city, not showing any interest in ruling the Notified Pack.

Alpha Lucas decided to hand over the affairs of the pack to Teddy. In the hope that Teddy would look after the pack and protect them from the rogue's attacks.

Alpha Lucas Hudson was still alive. Although he has aged. He has two sons and a daughter. His two sons were Jack and Teddy, while his daughter's name was Susan.

Jack Hudson was the rightful heir to rule Norfield packs, but ever since he left the pack house when he turned 18 years old a decade ago, Alpha Lucas decided to be relegated over the pack affairs to his second son, Teddy, who had been around.

To take over this pack's affairs, Alpha Lucas gave Charlotte Mateo to Teddy as his wife and chose Luna of the Norfield pack. To assist Teddy in ruling the pack house, but Teddy didn't like Charlotte.

For the four years that Teddy and Charlotte had become married officially as mates, Teddy didn't touch Charlotte nor mate with her to seal their marriage.

He avoided her and cheated on her.

Charlotte paced about in the living room, wondering when her husband would return home.

It was their wedding anniversary night, and she had dressed up in a pink seductive dress to look sweet for her husband.

"Oh!... For a week now, Alpha Teddy is not yet at home. Should I call his father and report him? What kind of husband is he?" Pondered Charlotte.

She had been enduring Teddy's ruthless nature. Where he flogged her at home, rejected her food, and avoided their master bedroom.

Charlotte had been enduring all these, because she was the Luna, and her father told her not to leave Teddy.

She was an obedient woman and had suffered some facial scars that would later heal, but Teddy didn't like her.

Teddy mostly pretended in front of others that he was a sweet, doting husband, especially during their pack function. But once he returns home, his beast and animalistic nature would take control of him.

Charlotte wore a pink seductive night dress, paired with black sandals. It was their marriage anniversary, and she decided to look sweet for Teddy. Believing that he might touch her tonight and consummate their marriage.

She knew she wasn't Teddy's true mate. Most she-wolves of the Norfield pack find their mates when they turn 18 years old.

Charlotte was 22 years old now, yet she hadn't found her mate yet.

She wasn't wolfless, and on the night she turned 18, four years ago, it was the same night her father presented her to the Alpha's family as Teddy's wife.

"Alpha Lucas Hudson, here is my daughter, Charlotte Matteo. I present her to your son, Teddy Hudson as his wife, mate, and the chosen Luna of our pack, the Norfield pack," her father said in front of Alpha Lucas and his family.

Charlotte loved Teddy Hudson. He was handsome, masculine, and a skilled warrior of the Norfield packs. He single-handedly defeated battalions of rouges that had attacked their packs four years ago. And up till date, Teddy was a tough man.

Teddy was present at the wedding ceremony. He was only 22 years old when his father presented Charlotte to him.

"Charlotte, do you accept Teddy Hudson as your chosen mate? To love and to cherish until death separates you both?" Asked Alpha Lucas.

Charlotte remembers the night of her being betrothed to Teddy Hudson.

Teddy had an aloof face. He wasn't pleased with Charlotte.

She wasn't his spec, as she was brown skin, a complexion that Teddy didn't like, but he kept silent as he wanted to take over the pack.

Teddy did everything his father wanted him to do so that he could take over the Norfield packs. He had to suppress his irritation and accept Charlotte as his wife.

Though she was young and stared at him with admiration. Teddy could see that Charlotte wanted to marry him, but he already had a mate, and he had to let his mate go for Charlotte's sake and to secure the Alpha's position in Norfield packs.

"Yes, Alpha. I accept Teddy Hudson as my husband and mate. To love and to cherish, until death do us part," said Charlotte. She looked at Teddy with love in her eyes.

She wore a white wedding dress, while Teddy wore a black suit paired with black shoes.

They were in the royal palace hall, while their families stood watching them.

Alpha Lucas sat on the throne and the whole family watched eagerly as Alpha Lucas turned to face Teddy. He asked, "Teddy, do you accept Charlotte Mateo as your mate, the chosen Luna of Norfield pack, and to enable you to rule over this pack in your elder brother's absence until Jack returns?"

Teddy's eyes glowed greener. "Dad, I will only accept Charlotte as my Luna on the condition that even when Jack returns. I will still be the Alpha of this pack?"

Alpha Lucas nodded and bitterly replied, "Yes, Teddy. You have my word, so long as you accept Charlotte Matteo as your mate and treat her right. You shall remain the ruling Alpha of this pack even when Jack returns. So do you accept this union?"

Teddy smirked and replied, "Yes, I do."

Charlotte wiped the sobs away as she remembered the night she was betrothed to Teddy Hudson.

Teddy was now 26 years old, and Charlotte didn't know much about him.

He kept her in the dark about his business, friends, and hangouts.

She was only his wife by name and the current Luna of the Norfield pack. It worried her if she would continue to live in a loveless marriage.

To brace herself, Charlotte remembered that Teddy had warned her not to contact him on the phone either, but to await his arrival.

She decided to contact Teddy's Beta, Caleb Brown, to find out about Teddy's whereabouts.

It was a Friday night, Charlotte was worried sick as the time in her room clocked 11 pm.

"Hello, Caleb," she spoke in a nervous tone.

"Good evening, Luna Charlotte. Why are you calling me by this late ungodly hour?... Do you want to implicate me or have me banished from our pack?... Do you know how possessive Alpha Teddy is regarding you?... Please refrain from phoning me by this hour, except if you want me to reject your calls and place them on voicemail," said Caleb.

Charlotte gulped and apologized to him, "Please, I'm sorry, Beta Caleb. It just that Alpha Teddy hadn't returned home, since he left the house on Monday this week. Do you know of his whereabouts?"

The phone call went silent for a while, before Caleb answered, "Alpha Teddy will be at home today, Luna. He went on a business trip with the next pack, but he will be back today. Do take care, Luna."

Charlotte sighed as the phone call ended. Just then, she heard the doorbell sound, and it skipped her mind that she heard the sound of a car arriving before.

She rushed to the door to unlock it, but Teddy was back with a woman in his arms.
