Evelyn's words were like a thorn, piercing deep into his chest. Warren didn't know why, but he'd always wanted to cling to Evelyn. He'd always wanted to hear her voice. Even if she scolded or hit him, it felt much better than not being able to see or touch her now.

His eyes darkened slightly. His voice became a bit hoarser.

"Evelyn, since you like to daydream so much, why don't you become a writer? I did this for Mr. Yarrow and his son's sake—to give them some business opportunities. It has nothing to do with you.

"Besides, my grand-uncle has already mentioned this to my grandma. If I don't help out, do you think she would let me off? Don't make it seem like I'm cooperating with your firm just for you. You aren't that charming."

Evelyn could hear the disdain in his tone. She knew Warren, who was always cold-blooded and ruthless, only listened to Bonnie.

She immediately lowered her guard. "When are you available?"

"9:00 am, at the golf course I often go to. Don't be late."
