"Warren, Chet is just spouting nonsense. Don't listen to him. We have plans for lunch. We won't be joining you," Clara hurriedly said as she and Chet quickly retreated from Warren's presence.

Warren sensed something amiss. His suspicions grew as he watched them leave hastily.

Warren wondered why Chet knew something he didn't. When had he and Evelyn become acquainted?

He suddenly remembered the day Evelyn donated blood to Clara and pulled Chet aside for a private conversation.

Warren felt frustrated recalling these events. He picked up a golf ball and threw it forcefully across the field.

Just then, Charlie arrived to pick him up. Noticing Warren's gloomy expression, Charlie deduced that his talk with Evelyn had gone poorly again.

Charlie immediately tried to comfort him. "Mr. Larkin, sometimes women need to be coaxed. A meaningful gift can sometimes work wonders. It's better than kneeling on spikes. The last time my girlfriend was mad, I bought her a necklace, and she forgave m
