Perhaps that was the difference between being loved and not being loved.

Everything his first love said, Warren trusted, and everything that Evelyn said, he'd take it as her trying to kick up a fuss.

A wistful smile graced Evelyn's features. Then, an alluring glow flashed in her moist eyes.

She flipped over so that she was on top of Warren. Then, a series of wet kisses rained down on his Adam's apple.

Her voice was bewitching. "Mr. Larkin, is this what you want? I can always put up an act for you."

Her fiery gaze was fixed on Warren as her fingers trailed over his features deftly. Her actions were suggestive and enticing.

Warren grabbed hold of her hand, and his Adam's apple bobbed. "Must you do this, Evelyn? Why can't we go back to how we were in the past?"

Evelyn leaned close to his ears and smiled faintly. "Isn't this what you wanted, Mr. Larkin? No strings attached. I'd be going against your wishes if I invested any emotions in this."
