That evening at supper, Bentley’s seat remained unoccupied but his chair wasn’t the only vacant one. Alpha Gavin wasn’t on seat too and I became anxious as to why they were absent. I had already learned in my short time here that eating together was a family business. Whatever was keeping them occupied against having to join us must be an urgent business too.
Just making sure, I bear my worries. “Is everything alright with Alpha Gavin and my brother?” I ask Alpha Atticus and his wife; my gaze never leaving Alpha Gavin’s seat. It seemed I was more worried for him than my brother.
