JACKSON

So much change occurred over the years. It was the difference between night and day in some respects.

It was not easy for Imeela and I to make the changes that needed to occur. However, we were both really fucking stubborn, refusing to give up. One of the biggest deterrents that we had in place was the prison that nobody wanted to be thrown into. It made them consider whether or not it was really worth the risk because proved that we would do everything in our power to seek out those breaking the laws that were clearly set in place.

We were able to reinstate the Royal Guard, those whose job it was to ensure that the laws were being followed. It was their duty to verify if accusations were truth and apprehend them if that was the case.

We built additional housing on the estate for those in the coven who would prefer living outside of the palace but still within the safety of our borders. So, our coven boomed to over six hundred with all of the children added into it.

IMEELA Being rulers was not all that it was cracked up to be. Many people thought that the title of King or Queen would be cool to have, but they had probably never considered all that it entailed. Our roles required us to transverse the precarious minefield of politics. It required balancing cause and effect, what our people needed versus what they wanted, and the short-term impact versus long-term impact of everything. We had a rough time in the beginning because we had to establish ourselves and fight against the assholes who shared Andrei’s ideals. However, we never let that phase us. There was still a long way to go, but I felt that we were doing a decent job. The King and Queen were the figureheads and faces of the Precoza coven. However, we had a very collaborative team that made everything possible. Jackson and I headed to our office outside of the courtroom. Today would be a long ass day because it was one of the scheduled court days. There would be cases presented that ne

  • Design of Fate   Chapter 83

JACKSONMy mind blanked when I saw a face from the past. The face that had been attached to a body that I had ripped apart piece by bloody fucking piece.I was not certain how this was even possible, but I did not care about the how or the why of it. All I cared about was the fact the turmoil that was rushing down the bond from my mate as well as my own.The fucker’s lip twitched in amusement, eyes filling with a sharp edge that I could not quite place. It was almost manic though.“GET DOWN!” Noah shouted.I threw myself over Imeela, pulling her down to the floor. There was a loud crash against the wall, sounding like something had shattered. The sounds of a struggle sounded far away. I trusted our team to take care of it because my focus was elsewhere. My heart hammered in my chest as I checked my mate over. Her eyes were filled with tears and were also unfocused. She was stuck inside of herself, somewhere beyond this room. Her mental walls were down, so I knew exactly where that was

  • Design of Fate   Chapter 84

JACKSON Aldan, Alpha of the Silver Creek pack, was someone that we had all dealt with over the years. I would not say that I was as close to him as Dante or Kade were because they had more direct contact with him than I did. We all knew the origin of how their fates had become entwined. Aldan’s wolf, Grant, was originally the wolf counterpart of the Alpha heir in Elle’s original pack. He was a sadistic piece of shit. Turned out that the Goddess fated Elle and the piece of shit together, but it was simply to set things in motion that brought Coverstone Council in and made it possible to protect all of the innocents of that pack. He rejected Elle, which in turn hurt his wolf. Grant chose to die to punish the piece of shit for everything he had done to Elle and others. Elle, however, asked the Goddess to give Grant a second chance with a powerful future Alpha so that he could have the life he was destined to. That way, he could also have a mate like he deserved. The mate bit was why

  • Design of Fate   Chapter 85

JACKSON He set his drink on the table and leaned forward with his elbows on his knees. “That was not exactly easy to explain.” He shook his head. “Luna Elle said that I could share whatever I felt would help regarding her story.” Kade flicked a ball of paper at him, landing directly between his eyes. Score! “Elle, Kade, Dante, Ziyah, Jackson, Imeela. We’ve known each other long enough that you’ve earned the dropping our titles bit. You’re an Alpha, Aldan, and an honorable one at that. So, please, for the love of everything on this planet, use our fucking names.” Aldan cracked his neck to relieve the tension there. He nodded slowly. I got it and understood it. He was a pup when he met Elle and Kade, so the titles were ingrained within him. However, he was certainly close to us all and should feel free to drop the formalities. “Anyways, I tried explaining, but I was making a mess of things, so Grant took over. He explained how shitty Eric was and how he hated him with every fiber

  • Design of Fate   Chapter 86

IMEELA This was not our first rodeo or even twentieth. There was a method to the madness. First, our adorable Hellhounds would flash around the room, collecting the innocents and moving them into a safe space. A couple of our guards would protect them at all costs. Second, we would disarm and apprehend the assholes. They would be brought to submission one way or another. Our people were more than happy to force that submission painfully if need be. Third, they would be taken to Carceris Doloris and booked. That included a very painful booking process that stripped them of all connections from the outside world while they were being detained for trial. The room had erupted in chaos, but we did not have to worry about anyone trying to escape because we had a perimeter blocker in place. It worked just like Brynn’s tether did to Loki back in the day. It made it so that he could not escape that room. They could not escape here even if it was through a gift or portal. Jackson and I wor

  • Design of Fate   Chapter 87

JACKSON When I was a teenager, my father had told me something that stuck with me all of these years. ‘There is nothing that I wouldn’t do to protect your mother. If I failed to protect her then there was nothing that I wouldn’t do to ensure that it didn’t happen again.’ Often times, I thought how foretelling it was that I met Imeela in the midst of a fight for survival. She was brave, strong, and fierce. Those three qualities never diminished at all but did become even more defined as the years flew by. There had been nine different attempts on her life, which included this one as well. Each time, however, filled me with even more fury. My mate was the kindest person you would ever meet. She genuinely cared for everyone who was not a fucking douchebag. She wanted nothing more than to see people thrive. Her enemies felt that was the weakness that they could exploit. How very wrong they were. On the contrary, the care that she exhibited towards others was what would make her fight u

  • Design of Fate   Chapter 88

IMEELA I had been filled in on what we had missed at Nightshade when we went to capture Cezar, and it was rough. Ziyah had previously had a vision where a woman was strung up and held prisoner. It was narrowed down to either Brynn or Elle since the asshole wanted the complaints against him erased from the Supernatural Council’s database. While we were gone, she had another vision that showed Elle being that woman. However, the Goddess of Fate showed her how to save Elle. It was to glamour herself as Elle and fall into the trap they had set. Apparently, the torture would kill a wolf but not Fae. Being shot by Cezar actually gave me a great idea for additional protection. Implanting capsules of my blood that would break apart if it was necessary. Precoza blood was far more potent than typical vampire blood. This could provide her with an extra layer of security. My idea was ran by Nightshade’s Gabriel who was the lead inventor of their weapon’s division. He had created similar ideas

  • Design of Fate   Chapter 89

JACKSON I was lying in wait for Imeela to come into our bedroom. Juggling responsibilities, family life, and everything else that was on our plates left us needing to find time that we could sneak for ourselves. Despite everything on our shoulders, our mateship was solid. We took time each and every day to ensure that we showed our love for each other. She and Zeus went on runs nearly every night as well. I had heard all about the mate-bond growing up, but I never truly understood it until I experienced it for myself. Imeela was more than just half of my soul because it felt like she was all of it. She was the light to my dark and the hope to my despair. Was that cheesy? Perhaps, but it did not make it any less true. The door creaked open, halting my inner monologue. In she walked with her nose buried in a book. She had a thing for steamy supernatural romances. It was not surprising that most got everything wrong, but there were some authors who were supernaturals that got it righ

  • Design of Fate   Author's Note

To all of my amazing readers, I am happy to tell you that “Destined Alpha of Change” is now officially up on the app and ready to begin being read. Now, onto other important matters. First and foremost, I would like to thank you for how much support you have given me throughout these books. I love reading all of your comments, whether they were negative or positive, and use them to help shape the story as it evolves. Jackson and Imeela’s story was one story that I could not begin to write. I know that not everyone was thrilled during Theo’s story when Jackson took Brynn’s side after the rejection. However, it just showed the type of man that he was. The one who would help protect those who needed it, just like he did with Brynn. One thing that many of you had mentioned was that you enjoyed the species integration seen throughout this book and the Fated series. We will see the byproduct of that during the Legacies of Destiny series. Kalen’s story will be the first one, followed by

  • Design of Fate   Sneak Peek

SNEAK PEEK – “DESTINED ALPHA OF CHANGE”– KALENLater on in life, I would look back and wonder how I survived what I willingly threw myself into.Visions led me down this path. They were warnings of what was to come. A single person was going to be the spark that ignited the fire that would destroy everything that I held dear. It would lead to countless graves. The peace that our world experienced would be wiped away, leaving nothing but pain and chaos in its wake. The only way to prevent this was for me to identify the supernatural that was aiding him. My visions only showed me this one path to potential success. Yes, I said potential. If I succeeded, then it would save everyone and everything. However, it could very well be my demise. The plan unfolded where I would create my own trap to catch his attention. It worked like a charm, and that was how I ended up in this make-shift dungeon cell. He really spent too much time watching B-rated horror films.I lost track of how long I had

  • Design of Fate   Bonus Chapter - Emilio and Imeela On the Run

EMILIOMy mind was a complete mess right now. I had a sleeping Princess cradled in my arms as I ran, searching for somewhere that was safe enough to rest.‘It is your duty to keep her safe. Run and do not look back. There will come a day when she returns here to avenge us, but it will be when she is older. We have every faith in you when it comes to protecting one of the most important gifts that we have ever been given and will never be able to express just how much we appreciate it. We have always loved you like a son, so let me give you one last piece of advice. Do not harbor guilt for leaving instead of fighting alongside the coven because you are protecting the future of our kind. That is the most important mission that has ever existed.’Those were his parting words. As much as he said not to harbor guilt… it was easier said than done. Instead of focusing on that, I focused on the fact that it was my duty as her personal bodyguard to always do what was necessary to protect her.J

  • Design of Fate   Bonus Chapter - Enter Lola

LOLAI had been different my entire life. Not being able to hear anything made life hard. That was why Mom taught me ASL and how to read lips. It did not always help, but it did help sometimes. Mom and Dad were my only sources of consistency, but even that did not last.We were always moving around. They never told me why, but I had the feeling that it was because of me. Dad was a special kind of vampire, and Mom was an Elemental dragon. I might be young, but I understood what that meant for me.Sadly, we could not outrun every danger. Vampires caught up with us. Mom and Dad fought them off with everything they had. They took down many of the vampires. Then something hit my head, and I blacked out. I came to and saw my parent’s dead bodies next to me.My heart broke because I was all alone now. They would never be able to tell me another bedtime story. I would never ride on Mom’s dragon form again. There would never be another opportunity to tell them that I loved them.Lost in my sadn

  • Design of Fate   Epilogue 2

JACKSON At the same conference as Epilogue 1 – I could not be any prouder of Lola as I watched her get everything prepared for her presentation. She worked her ass off to get to where she was at right now in life. Nothing held her back, and nothing slowed her down. It had been hard for her at first because she desired to be independent, but not everyone could communicate with her and vice versa. My amazing mate was the one who could break through her barriers and encourage her to get right back up. I had never seen Lola happier than when Ziyah had given her the hearing aids that she created for her years back. Lola was born deaf, so she never had the opportunity to hear people speak to her or around her. She never had the ability to listen to the sounds of nature. While she could not do anything for the second part, Ziyah had been able to fix it to where the words were picked up by the devices and then sent as a mindlink. A lot of attention to detail was found in how they worked.

  • Design of Fate   Epilogue 1

IMEELASix years later –I checked my appearance one last time just to make certain that I looked presentable for the supernatural conference that we were attending. The pencil dress came to my knees. The top was white with a notched neck and three-quarters sleeves. The bottom was black with strips of black and white crisscrossing the waist. My hair was pulled into a low side bun with my newly designed diadem.Honestly, I hated wearing the crown in public, which this conference was, but our normal diadems were not official enough, according to our Cabinet, so we designed new ones that were more official looking. They were more pronounced with the Precoza crest designed within it.I opted for a natural look with my makeup, so it just highlighted my features. Luckily, my mates did not care if I wore makeup or not because it was not something that I cared about either.“You look beautiful, Mom,” Zion said from behind me.I turned around and smiled at my handsome son. He was as tall and bu

  • Design of Fate   Chapter 94

IMEELAZiyah had called me earlier and said that she had something special for Lola that should help the most with her deafness.Lola was a blessing in disguise when we first met her. She had been through so much in her short life, but it proved that she was strong and resilient enough to soldier on and keep going. Her biggest hurdle in life was learning to navigate being deaf in a supernatural world. There were many shows and movies out there that show how easy it was to overcome that hurdle and still live a completely normal life. That might be how it worked for humans, but it was extremely dangerous for supernaturals. Our world was a chaotic one where we always had to look out for the dangers hiding in the shadows, waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike.Lola was so fucking strong that it made us incredibly proud of her. She had learned how to read lips with damn near perfect accuracy. She was also learning how to defend herself against any attack. Zion took it upon himself t

  • Design of Fate   Chapter 93

JACKSONThree years later –I chuckled as I watched Amira and Cyrus playing tag with Zion outside.Imeela rested her back against my chest. It was a very comfortable Spring with the sun shining down on us.Amira was a pro at this game already because of her gift. She could use her shield to essentially cloak her just like I could via casting. This, however, also hid her scent, breathing, and heartbeat. Thankfully, Ziyah was able to put a block on it so that we would always be able to find her even if she was cloaked.Emery was practicing her dance routine off to the side where she would not be in the way. The girl was really fucking talented. I had never liked ballet before, but I watched every routine she had and got swept away in the emotions that it evoked each and every time.Zion fell to his knees and gripped his head, crying out.We were next to him in an instant. Zion had a high pain tolerance. He broke his arm last year and did not scream or anything. He whimpered, but that was

  • Design of Fate   Chapter 92

JACKSONI was currently sparring with Santiago. He was a great opponent because his training and heritage really made him really fucking lethal when he wanted to be. Thankfully, he liked me enough to allow my continued breathing. It only took training with vampires for about four months before I could keep up with them entirely speed wise. Strength was a different matter because there was a biological difference between our species. However, sealing the bond with my girl gave me additional strength. I might not have been able to deck a vampire quite as hard as another one could, but it did not matter. I just had to be more strategic on when and where to hit. However, the blessing of strength that Hecate had given to me at the coronation and also the boost from being crowned King put me as close as possible to being at the level of vampires. My fist connected in an uppercut, causing Santiago to fly up and backwards with his ass landing on the ground. He just laid there, panting heavily.
