Just one for today. I think that I've finally broken through whatever kept me under the weather, so I will get back into the swing of things and consistent updates.
IMEELA I had been filled in on what we had missed at Nightshade when we went to capture Cezar, and it was rough. Ziyah had previously had a vision where a woman was strung up and held prisoner. It was narrowed down to either Brynn or Elle since the asshole wanted the complaints against him erased from the Supernatural Council’s database. While we were gone, she had another vision that showed Elle being that woman. However, the Goddess of Fate showed her how to save Elle. It was to glamour herself as Elle and fall into the trap they had set. Apparently, the torture would kill a wolf but not Fae. Being shot by Cezar actually gave me a great idea for additional protection. Implanting capsules of my blood that would break apart if it was necessary. Precoza blood was far more potent than typical vampire blood. This could provide her with an extra layer of security. My idea was ran by Nightshade’s Gabriel who was the lead inventor of their weapon’s division. He had created similar ideas
JACKSON I was lying in wait for Imeela to come into our bedroom. Juggling responsibilities, family life, and everything else that was on our plates left us needing to find time that we could sneak for ourselves. Despite everything on our shoulders, our mateship was solid. We took time each and every day to ensure that we showed our love for each other. She and Zeus went on runs nearly every night as well. I had heard all about the mate-bond growing up, but I never truly understood it until I experienced it for myself. Imeela was more than just half of my soul because it felt like she was all of it. She was the light to my dark and the hope to my despair. Was that cheesy? Perhaps, but it did not make it any less true. The door creaked open, halting my inner monologue. In she walked with her nose buried in a book. She had a thing for steamy supernatural romances. It was not surprising that most got everything wrong, but there were some authors who were supernaturals that got it righ
IMEELAWe had been worried about getting pregnant after we lost our angel because we carried around so much guilt over it. We were afraid of something happening all over again that would take away another child. The guilt drowned us for quite some time.Cyrus had been a blessing in disguise because he made us realize that we had allowed that fear and guilt to rule our lives and take away the joys of expanding our family. We decided that we would never allow the what-ifs to dictate our lives ever again because the truth of the matter was that they would always be there. A million different threats could loom over us at any given time. We could not live underneath that crushing weight.I was completely taken aback when the bloodwork showed that I was pregnant. It should not have been possible with how young Cyrus was. Vampire pregnancies were spaced further apart with each time. That was just how our species worked.Cali was with me earlier and let me in on a little fun fact. Precozas di
IMEELA I still could not get the latest meeting at Nightshade out of my head. There was so much that we learned. Essentially, there had been a covert mission where Ziyah had to glamour herself as Elle, knowing that she would be abducted and potentially tortured. The Goddess of Fate had shared with her that it was the only way to save Elle because it would be lethal to a shifter but not Fae. It was explained that the cuffs that had been used on her was infused with black magic and were meant to kill the wolf spirit before slowly killing the human side. The fucked-up man behind it all was Alpha Cameron of the Forest Trails pack out there in South Carolina. Dahlia worked her magic and hacked into his shit. That was when she found a direct link between him and Slide-X. The Council had been trying to track them so that we could shut them the fuck down, but we had never been able to find a credible trace until now. They were an entity that had a corner market in both supernatural organ
JACKSONI was currently sparring with Santiago. He was a great opponent because his training and heritage really made him really fucking lethal when he wanted to be. Thankfully, he liked me enough to allow my continued breathing. It only took training with vampires for about four months before I could keep up with them entirely speed wise. Strength was a different matter because there was a biological difference between our species. However, sealing the bond with my girl gave me additional strength. I might not have been able to deck a vampire quite as hard as another one could, but it did not matter. I just had to be more strategic on when and where to hit. However, the blessing of strength that Hecate had given to me at the coronation and also the boost from being crowned King put me as close as possible to being at the level of vampires. My fist connected in an uppercut, causing Santiago to fly up and backwards with his ass landing on the ground. He just laid there, panting heavily.
JACKSONThree years later –I chuckled as I watched Amira and Cyrus playing tag with Zion outside.Imeela rested her back against my chest. It was a very comfortable Spring with the sun shining down on us.Amira was a pro at this game already because of her gift. She could use her shield to essentially cloak her just like I could via casting. This, however, also hid her scent, breathing, and heartbeat. Thankfully, Ziyah was able to put a block on it so that we would always be able to find her even if she was cloaked.Emery was practicing her dance routine off to the side where she would not be in the way. The girl was really fucking talented. I had never liked ballet before, but I watched every routine she had and got swept away in the emotions that it evoked each and every time.Zion fell to his knees and gripped his head, crying out.We were next to him in an instant. Zion had a high pain tolerance. He broke his arm last year and did not scream or anything. He whimpered, but that was
IMEELAZiyah had called me earlier and said that she had something special for Lola that should help the most with her deafness.Lola was a blessing in disguise when we first met her. She had been through so much in her short life, but it proved that she was strong and resilient enough to soldier on and keep going. Her biggest hurdle in life was learning to navigate being deaf in a supernatural world. There were many shows and movies out there that show how easy it was to overcome that hurdle and still live a completely normal life. That might be how it worked for humans, but it was extremely dangerous for supernaturals. Our world was a chaotic one where we always had to look out for the dangers hiding in the shadows, waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike.Lola was so fucking strong that it made us incredibly proud of her. She had learned how to read lips with damn near perfect accuracy. She was also learning how to defend herself against any attack. Zion took it upon himself t
IMEELASix years later –I checked my appearance one last time just to make certain that I looked presentable for the supernatural conference that we were attending. The pencil dress came to my knees. The top was white with a notched neck and three-quarters sleeves. The bottom was black with strips of black and white crisscrossing the waist. My hair was pulled into a low side bun with my newly designed diadem.Honestly, I hated wearing the crown in public, which this conference was, but our normal diadems were not official enough, according to our Cabinet, so we designed new ones that were more official looking. They were more pronounced with the Precoza crest designed within it.I opted for a natural look with my makeup, so it just highlighted my features. Luckily, my mates did not care if I wore makeup or not because it was not something that I cared about either.“You look beautiful, Mom,” Zion said from behind me.I turned around and smiled at my handsome son. He was as tall and bu
