Jayden’s POV

I stared at Jovita, waiting for her response. I was very nervous right now.

I couldn't believe Jovita would think I could leave her for Betty, I'd be a fool.

She was the most beautiful woman I have ever seen, and coupled with that fact, she drew me in a way no one had ever done.

With her, I felt alive and active. I felt happy, safe, and confident. I wouldn't trade this things for anything in the world.

If I was going to admit it to myself, I was already in love with Jovita.

“Will you?” I asked, waiting with bathed breathe for her reply.

What if she said no? I felt my stomach churn at the thought of her refusal.

“Yes”, she said, her heart-shaped face looking even more beautiful.

“What time would be okay for you?”

“Six would do”.

“Then six it is”.

We stood awkwardly for a moment, not saying anything. A part of me wished and hoped Jovita shared my feelings even in the slightest bit.

I wasn't used to this thing called love, and I had actually never loved anyone except my pa

Jovita's POVI watched Jayden’s retreating figure not knowing what to say. I could feel tears burning my eyelids.I had been looking for my besties earlier before I saw Seth, but now I wasn't in the mood to continue my search, so I decided to go home first. I would apologize to them later. When I reached home, I met my Mom at the door. It looked like she was going somewhere, seeing she was all dressed up.“Hey”, I said, giving her a brief hug, but she held me tight, pulling me into a deeper embrace. She could sense my hurt, but she didn't ask, and I was grateful. My Mom and I were very close, and most times, I appreciated the fact that she never tried to intrude on my life. She always waited until I came out clean on my own.“You're going somewhere?” I asked, trying to steady my trembling voice, when we pulled out from the embrace.“Yes, your Dad is taking in a date”, she said, smiling. My Dad was a little over forty and my Mom was in her late thirties, but they both looked like they

Jovita's POV“Hey”, I said, opening the door for my best friends. I wasn't sure I was meant to be happy or sad to see them. A part of me already missed Jayden. One look at her Maddie, and I was certain the look of horror on her face was meant for me.“Your parents are at home?” Maddie asked, looking past me. My mom was very fond of her.“No, they went on a date, and Mimoh went for a sleepover”.“Okay”, she replied, still staring at me.I probably looked horrible. From crying and you know… with Jayden. I must look like a mess right now. I hadn't even bothered to check myself in the mirror.“What have you been up to?” Anne asked, eyeing me suspiciously.“Nothing”.“Why are you avoiding her eyes, Jovie?” Maddie asked.“Nothing”, I said again, heading upstairs before they could get the truth out of me. I would have to tell them anyway.I quickly adjusted my bed before my besties entered the room after me.My room was painted a dark shade of yellow, with transparent, white curtains hanging

  • Descendant of the moon goddess.   I could eat you whole...

Jayden’s POV I scrolled through my phone as the door cracked open. Jovita steps out looking… Oh my God.Where was Jovita? I couldn't believe the stunning woman in front of me was my mate. I closed my eyes and reopened them just to make sure I wasn't dreaming.“You look gorgeous”, I managed to say after staring for about an hour. I was captivated.“Thank you”, she smiled shyly. She was wearing a pale-yellow, sleeveless gown, decorated with a silver lace. The gown stopped just above her knees showing off her white, hot, model legs.On her small feet were gorgeous silver heels, and her hair fell in curly, black, thick waves down her shoulder. On her neck was a simple silver chain, and her ears wore matching earrings. She had just a light make-up on, but I couldn't stop staring.“Where are we going?” She asked, in a shaky voice.I could tell she was feeling nervous. I had to stop staring so I wouldn't increase her discomfort, but unfortunately, I couldn't.“You'll see”.I opened my car,

Jayden's POVI felt Jayden's body still, and his gaze suddenly flickered to the woods. He wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me to the side. I could hear my heart beating wildly.I wanted to ask if something was wrong but my tongue clung to my palette from fear, today was going well, did something have to spoil it? I groaned inwardly.Jayden’s eyes remained fixed on the woods as he started to lead me back to where he parked his car. After a few steps, he stopped abruptly, his body going from rigid to angry. I could feel shudders running through him.“Show yourself”, he hissed, to the invisible man hiding probably in the woods. At least that was what I concluded since I couldn't see anything.“Fine if you want me to”, a familiar, icy, voice said. Uriel!“You said you would wait”, Jayden hissed again, a strong shudder ripping through him. I'm certain that heard a growl.“I didn't come for you, I came for her”.“She's mine”, a deep, angry voice said, startling me. I looked at Ja

  • Descendant of the moon goddess.   Eric!

Jayden’s POV I dropped Jovita at her house and headed home. Gosh, I would loved to stay but her besties were in there. Had she just picked me over Uriel? She had asked him to leave and had shown a brave side of her that I never knew existed. I was falling in love with her every day. It was as though she was some cryptic code that I had to decipher daily, and the thought of that excited me. A familiar scent hit me as I pulled into the driveway. Eric! As I expected, his white Ford was packed in the spot it usually occupied. What did he want this time? I was exhausted and I didn't have any energy left to argue. I entered the house a bit pissed off already but was shocked when Eric greeted me with a smile. I looked at him perplexed, waiting for an explanation. “I heard about what happened today at the cafeteria”, Eric said, playing with the ring on his middle finger. He only did that when he was nervous, which was rarely. “So?” I asked, barely concealing my anger. “I'm sorry for

  • Descendant of the moon goddess.   Before Forktown - Jovita's childhood.

Jovita's POV My besties listened as I relayed the event of the evening to them. Anne had a horror look on her face, and Maddie's was twisted with worry.“Where did you meet Uriel?” Maddie asked. It just dawned on me that I had never told my besties about Uriel, but Jayden knew every detail.“I met him when I was in New York”.“And that was about how many years ago?” Anne asked.I did a mental calculation.“Sixteen years ago”.“And he claims to still have feelings for you? The dude is quite persistent”, Maddie said angrily. I could tell she hated Uriel.“Why did he leave, and why did you leave New York, you never told, give us the whole story”, Anne said.“That's true, you never told us why you came to Forktown”, Maddie said. It looked like she was just processing Anne's words.“Fine, fine, I'd tell the story. It's been a long time ago, and I was little so it's all quite vague”.“Go ahead”, Anne prompted, her face glowing with interest. Before Forktown - Jovita's childhood.I woke up

  • Descendant of the moon goddess.   His kind?...

Jayden’s POVEric snorted as we pulled up at Gibson's bookstore.“Where in the world did you discover this mouse hole man?” He asked, boredom clear in his voice.“During one of my many runs, and we're not here to be entertained so shrug off the grim mood”.“Whatever”, Eric grumbled as we got out of the car, and headed for the front door. “magic, glyphs, and mystical books”. Creepy as the shop itself”.I couldn't help the smile that crept to my face when I remembered those were the same words Jovita said when we came here together, weeks ago.Jovita was mostly the reason I was here, though I wanted to do a little more research on the cold ones, I wanted to look into the possibilities of what she might be, and probably ask Gibson a few questions.“Hi Gibson”, I said cheerfully to the old man, while Eric studied him with a bored expression on his face.“Jayden it's good to see you again, and…you”, Gibson said, cringing from Eric's glare. I couldn't blame the old man, Eric had that effect

  • Descendant of the moon goddess.   Witches!

Jayden's POV“I think you need to see this Jayden”, Eric called.I strolled to where he was standing still with the book he had been with. I didn't know Eric had it in him to read.He had the power to read minds and pick brains so he never bothered to read. He always knew the questions before the exams, and we kept a clean history of As.“What’s that?” I asked when I reached him.He held out the book for me to see.“Witches!” The words were bolded and italicised. I took the book from him reading swiftly through the content. When I was done, my head was swimming with the newly acquired knowledge. Had I finally found who Jovita was? Gibson called her his kind, though a halfbreed. I had been so focused on saving Jovita the last time we were here that I forgot to ask Gibson what he was, though I was certain he wasn't a werewolf nor a cold one, and according to this book, he was a witch.I didn't know creatures like that existed in our world. The similarities all came running back. The f

We're now all sitting in the throne room.We buried Jayden’s father a week ago, and though there's still tension in the air, the fighting has stopped, and the pack is finally willing to accept Jayden as their leader, with me by his side.Marcus turns to me with another crown in his hands, and a murmur starts to go among the crowd.“I still don't understand why we have to accept her as our Luna”, one of the elders in the crowd says.“We won, you're hardly in a position to make suggestions”, Eric says. He is sitting beside Jayden.“You betrayed the pack, Jayden, look at all the havoc you caused”, Kreed says.“I gave my life to the pack, and they took it gle

Jovita's POV“What do you think you're doing?” Maddie asks me as I'm dressing up.We're in the tent that was made for me and my besties, Betty, and I. I'm dressing up to go and join Jayden and the others on the battlefield. Things are getting tougher for them. This whole fight, as much as I hate to admit it, it's all because of me. If Jayden hadn't chosen to be with me, then all this won't be happening. I can't let anyone die because of me. Not anymore.“I'm going to join the others”, I say to Maddie, packing my hair in a high bun.“You’re not going anywhere”, Maddie replies, planting herself in front of me. Betty and Anne went along with the boys to fight, while Maddie stayed behind to protect me.It was agreed I wouldn't fight because of my supposed pregnancy and the fact that I was the major reason the fight was happening in the first place. Killing me would be the best way to win.“I have to help, they're all out there risking their life because of me”, I say to Maddie.“They're n

It's time to fight. We're all in our wolf form, waiting for the battle line to be drawn. My uncle is visibly the largest wolf among us, though I'm slightly close to his size since I have two wolves. My Dad who insisted on fighting with us is standing a few feet from us. He is a warrior white wolf so he is almost up to my size. My pack’s council starts to walk towards us. They stop just a stone's throw from us. They're three extremely old great whites that have lived for probably a hundred years. They're revered and feared by all.“I see you went to join your son, Edward”, Castiel, one of the trio says. He is a handsome, well-built man, looking very much like he just reached his fifties. He is the leader of the trio.“He is my blood, and I believe he has a right to choose his love”, my father replies.“The pack comes before love”, Marcus says. He looks a bit older than Castiel.“I've always th

He asked me to leave, so why is he asking for me now?My uncle walks outside his castle to a black Phantom parked in front of the building.“Get in”, he orders, taking the wheel.“Where are we going?” I ask.“To see your mother”, he replies.By going to see my mom, my uncle meant going to see my mother's grave. He took her body that day, seven years ago, and he never let us see her again.“Why are you suddenly letting me visit her?” I ask, trying to control the emotions raging inside me.“Because she has been asking of you. She won't let me rest if I don't help you, so I don't have a choice. My uncle runs his hands through his black long hair as he starts the car.“Does she speak to you?” I ask after a while.“Yes. I suddenly feel shy as his eyes wash over me, and I move my hands to cover my body.Jayden sits up and grabs my wrist, planting them on either of my sides. “Don't you ever try to cover your body, not from me”, he says with seriousness in his voice.“I’m just a little bit shy”, I say with a nervous chuckle.“You don't have to be. There are many things I want to do to you, Jovita”, he whispers in my ears, climbing on top of me, his weight supported by his hands. He is in a push-up position. His wet hair drips on my face, and I squirm, laughing. He places a soft kiss on my face before his hands start to explore my body. We haven't been this close since forever, and it feels good to hold him again.“It's fine, Jayden. You have to stop blaming yourself for your mother's death. You aren't the creator, and it was all bound to happen”, I whisper.“If only I had stopped her, things would have been so different”, Jayden replies.“It's the past now, and she would want you to let go of the guilt. She would want you to be happy”.“I don't deserve to be happy, Jovita”.“Of course you do”.“Everything I touch burns. Everyone around me gets heartbroken”.“You know that's not true”.“It's true, Jovita. I'm too shy to go out there to meet him in only a bra and panties. So I wear Jayden's shirt. I can't help but admire how his shirt smells like the rich cologne and the lovely smell I can only describe as Jayden. When I reach the pool, Jayden is already in the water. I can see water falling from his black hair. He smiles and pushes his hair back with one hand, his eyes twinkling with surprise.“Are you going to swim in that?” He asks, his eyes darkening as they take in my body. Impulsively, I tug at the bottom of his black T-shirt, trying to push it as far as it would go.“Yes”, I reply to his question feeling stupid. What was I so shy about? We've slept together about five times now.“Come on, are you shy, mate?” Jayden says, laughing.“I don't know”. I feel helpless right now.Jayden takes his bottom lips between his teeth, and I can s
