The Kaizu was lying on the ground, its thick ice coat crumbled into pieces and soon evaporated as the mana controlling it faded. It wasn't strong enough to resist the explosion. 

Amy noticed tears streaming down the monster's face. Although she lacked a clue as to what it was going through, she could see the sorrow in its eyes.

In addition to the ice, there was another spell that was broken. Someone cast a memory manipulating spell on it at the same time as they covered it in ice.

It remembered how the great mage saved the little Kaizu that was fending for itself in the snow-cold mountain without even parents or food. It became his pet Kaizu after he nursed him back to health. It accompanied the mage everywhere he went, fighting against monsters and enjoying the adventu
