"I can never control it," Tai said. Her voice was quiet. Ace had never seen her so vulnerable. So open. "When I shift it's like someone else takes over my body. I feel this bloodlust... My wolf just attacks whoever she sees. I can't do anything to stop it."
"We can work on that. You can learn control."
"It's too late. I've already done terrible things," Tai whispered. "Horrible things. I-" Tai stopped and shook her head. "I can't tell you."
"You can."
"What if you think I'm the bad guy?" Tai asked. "I know I can be a bitch, but I'm not a bad person. I don't want to be a bad person-"
"I know you're not a bad person," Ace said soothingly. "You don't need to worry about that."
"I killed two people," Tai blurted. "They were kind people. They had been fostering us up until our 18th birthday. It was my first shift. I didn't know what was happening. I changed and killed them. I ripped them to shreds in their own home. Raiden and I covered it up as an animal attack and moved around for a bit before coming here."
"Tai, that wasn't you," Ace said. He was shocked, but he felt no different about Tai. He knew she wasn't in control when it happened. It wasn't her fault. "You can't blame yourself."
"But I do," Tai snapped. "It's my fault! I couldn't control myself and I killed them!"
"Hey, hey." Ace gently took Tai's face in his hands. "Listen to me, Tai. This was not your fault. It was a horrible accident. You did not kill them. You did not willingly decide to do that. Do not blame yourself."
"I can't help it. It's all I do," Tai whispered.
"I want you to try and stop," Ace said. He ran his thumb over Tai's cheek. "Please."
"It's why I don't want anyone to get close. If I lose control I don't want to hurt anyone I care about," she said. She looked into Ace's eyes and willed herself to not get lost in them. "I don't want to hurt you."
Ace smiled. "You won't. I promise you. You won't hurt me."
"You don't know that."
"Then you're worth the risk," Ace said with a smile. "Please, don't distance yourself from me because you're scared you'll hurt me. I don't think I could handle that. Now I've had a small amount of time with you I want years with you. I want you by my side. I want to be with you. I can't lose you, Tai."
Tai let out a long, shaky breath. "I'm scared to be with you, but I'm also scared to be without you." She frowned. "I've never felt like this with anyone before, Ace."
"You need some time," Ace said. "I have to get back to the pack and you need some time by yourself. You know exactly where I am if you need me. I'll come for you no matter the time. I'll always be there for you, Tai. If you want me tonight then let me know, if not, then I'll pick you up for school tomorrow?"
Tai smiled slightly. "Okay," she said. "Thank you for not running for the hills. I wouldn't blame you."
"I'll only run if it's to chase after you," Ace said. He kissed Tai's cheek, lingering for a few seconds before leaning back. "Goodbye, Tai."
Tai opened the car door, took one last glance at Ace, and climbed out. She waved him goodbye and unlocked her front door, walking into her house. The smell of food filled her senses and she narrowed her eyes when she heard more than one voice. She slowly walked through the house and stopped at the kitchen door, leaning against it and raising her eyebrows when she saw Raiden and Brandon, standing by the oven, laughing and talking to each other.
"Evening," she said loudly, surprising them both. They both jumped in fright, turning around and looking at Tai. She noticed how close they stood together. Raiden dropped his hand that was resting on Brandon's back.
"Tai!" Raiden smiled. "I feel like I've not seen you in ages."
Tai shrugged her shoulders. "Well, I'm home now."
"Hi, Tai, how are you?" Brandon asked.
Tai couldn't help but smirk when she heard the cautious tone in his voice. "Oh, I'm wonderful," she said sarcastically.
"Where have you been?" Brandon asked, trying to sound casual.
"I don't see how that concerns you," Tai said challengingly. She raised her eyebrows at Brandon.
"Tai, you're not at home much anymore. Where are you spending your time?" Raiden asked.
"I'm not home much because he's always around," Tai said, sending a look to Brandon.
"Tai," Raiden sighed.
"If you're so interested I was with Ace," Tai said.
"You're spending a lot of time with that crowd," Brandon commented.
"You're spending a lot of time with my brother," Tai snapped.
"Tai!" Raiden said, groaning in frustration. "Look, have dinner with us. We've made enough for three. Let's try and have a civil conversation."
Tai looked at the sides that were covered in various dishes and trays. She then looked at Brandon. "I'd rather starve."
"Tai, sit down, now!" Raiden said. He was looking at his sister with pleading eyes, begging her to do this for him.
Tai pursed her lips and walked over to the kitchen table, pulling out a chair and rolling her eyes as she sat down. "Just this once, Rai," she warned and crossed her arms over her chest.
Soon Brandon was sitting opposite her, Raiden beside him. They started their meal in silence before Tai looked at Brandon, narrowing her eyes. "I saw Brooke today," she said.
Brandon's eyes widened and he nearly choked on his food. "Brooke?" He repeated. "Is she okay?"
"Oh yeah, she's great, loving life," Tai said, giving Brandon a dirty look. "So's Alice."
Brandon frowned, looking at Tai warily. She was giving it away that she knew everything, but she didn't care. She couldn't stand Brandon and hated how he was choosing Rogue over his family. Ace had filled Tai in on everything that had happened to Brooke and she was disgusted at Brandon. "Please tell them I'm sorry about everything," he said after a while.
"Do you think Brooke is ever going to forgive you?" Tai wondered. "She's a hell of a nice girl, but I don't think anyone is that nice to forgive you after all you've done. Alice is probably going to be traumatised. I don't know the girl, but no one deserves to go through what she's been through."
"You know everything," Brandon whispered.
"And are you going to tell your friend across the road? What will he do to me? He can't break my arm like Brooke's. It'll heal so that'll be pointless. Will he kidnap me? Hold me hostage? Kill someone I care about?" Tai was staring at Brandon with murderous eyes. Her emotions were haywire because of what she had told Ace and seeing Brandon had made her angry. Very angry.
"I thought Brooke fell down the stairs and broke her arm," Raiden said, frowning at Brandon.
"That's what she told people, but it wasn't the truth, was it?" Tai said.
Brandon sighed and rubbed his eyes. "Tai, don't do this."
"I've not done anything," Tai growled. "You, however, have helped to ruin lives!"
"Okay, what the hell is going on?" Raiden demanded.
"Your boyfriend is not who you think he is," Tai said, standing up and pointing at Brandon.
"I know he's a werewolf if that's what you mean. We are too."
Tai paused. "What? No, that's not what I meant, but what? How the hell? You know? You know what we are?"
Raiden's eyebrows raised. "You know what we are? How did you find out about werewolves?"
"That's not the point," Tai said dismissively.
"We wanted to tell you together. We're not alone, Tai, we're not freaks. There are others like us!""I know that there are others like us. But not everyone like us is good!" Tai shouted. "Brandon his not good. I don't care if he's your mate, Raiden, he can't be trusted!"Raiden paled. "You know about mates?""They've told you everything," Brandon said quietly. He frowned. "They wouldn't do that if you were just a regular werewolf." Brandon nodded. "Ace. He's your mate, isn't he? It's the reason you've been spending so much time with him. It's the reason why you know so much."Raiden gasped. "You have a mate?""God, Raiden!" Tai yelled. "You're so clueless and you don't even know it! Brandon has been probably been filling your head with shit!""I haven't," Brandon interjected. "I've just told him the basics of the werewolf world. I hadn't gotten round to telling him about this town in particular.""What were you going to say?" Tai asked. "That you're best buds with a murderous psycho r
"Tai!" Ace burst into Tai's house not long after she had called him. "Is everything okay?" He found his way to their kitchen where he saw Raiden standing. He still hadn't moved. Tai was sitting at the table that had, now cold, half-eaten dinners on it."Ace," she sighed. She looked at her brother and then stood up, walking over to Ace. "Brandon knows that I know. Raiden also knows about Brandon and Rogue, and to say he's heartbroken is an understatement.""Are you okay?" Ace asked, checking Tai over."I'm not worried about me," Tai said dismissively. "Rai's in shock. I also don't think we should stay here, not with Rogue across the road. Brandon said he wasn't going to say anything but I don't know whether he's going to keep his word.""No, of course not. You'll stay at the packhouse," Ace said."I was just thinking of staying in a hotel. I don't think Greyson would-""He may be the Alpha, but I'm the Beta and you're my mate, so I'm not taking no for an answer," Ace said. "I can deal
"I think you should tell Brooke what happened," Indianna spoke up. "Tell her what Brandon said. About his reasons for why he's done what he has. It's not an excuse for his actions, but it explains a bit. I think she deserves to know."Tai nodded, her voice was softer when she spoke about Brooke. "I'll tell her.""Thank you," Indianna smiled."Is there anything else you have to say?" Greyson asked.Ace shook his head. "No, that was it.""In that case," Indianna said and stood up, she stretched and rubbed her stomach. Greyson didn't take his eyes off of her. "I'm going to check up on Alice.""I'll see you in our room after, sugar?" Greyson called but his tone made it clear that it wasn't a question."Maybe," Indianna shrugged and walked out of the room. She weaved her way through many pack members to reach Kal's room where Alice was. She had only recently woke up and Kal was attempting to explain everything to her which was obviously a lot.Indianna knocked on the door and entered. She
Hi guys.I know it's been a while. My life is a little crazy and it's super hard to find time to write. I apologise for the long wait, however, I will always continue updating, even if it takes ages. If you don't have any updates for a while it doesn't mean I've stopped, it just means I simply do not have the time.I will always continue to update and I will let you guys know if I ever plan to stop, so if you don't hear anything, please just wait. An update will come.I promise. Also, people are complaining about not seeing enough of Indianna and Greyson. I get that you want more of them, but please understand that I need to show the other characters and what's happening with them so the story flows and you understand what's happening with everyone. If I just showed everything from Indianna and Greyson's POV lots of information would be missed about other characters and you would have no idea what's going on:). This story is no longer JUST about Indie and Greyson, it includes everyone
Brooke chuckled, but suddenly her expression turned serious. "Indie, I need some advice."Indianna smiled and led Brooke to the steps that led up to the front of the pack house and sat down. "I know what you're going to ask about," she said and gently rubbed her stomach. She was getting even bigger. Greyson's return had rapidly sped up the growth of her babies."I'm scared," Brooke breathed."I know," Indianna nodded. "I know exactly how you're feeling.""I want this," Brooke said. "I really do, but I don't. Not now. Not when our lives are like this.""It won't be like this. We're going to fix this. For them." Indianna placed her hand on Brooke's stomach."I've just started to show," Brooke said quietly and held her stomach. "Soon I'll be as big as you.""I'm only going to get bigger," Indianna groaned. "Do you know how far along you are?"Brooke shook her head. "I would guess around two months but I need to see Doc to be sure.""You're going to be a great mother, Brooke.""Oh god," s

It all happened quickly. Indianna was waiting outside of the pack house with Greyson, Ace, and Kal. Indianna watched as the car came to a stop a few meters away from them and Harry and Oscar hurried out of the car, dragging out a screaming man with them.He looked wild. He was yelling, spitting and biting at Harry who was holding him. His face was red and his eyes were wide. Indianna could see blood streaking down his arms where he had been pulling at the rope binding his wrists together."He's going to kill you!" The man cried and thrashed around manically. His eyes locked onto Indianna and he paused for a single second before yelling and launching himself in her direction. "You're a traitor, you bitch!"Greyson, who was watching the man with a blank expression, stepped forward, blocking Indianna from the man's view. Indianna saw Greyson's muscles tense, his jaw tightened and she was sure that his eyes had darkened. "Get him out of my sight," Greyson said stiffly."You're going to re
"I wish we had some good news, but there is nothing," Laura said sadly, her face dropping. "The books in this library go back thousands of years but we have found nothing that can help us.""Don't give up hope," Indianna said. "I'll give you a hand. I have nothing else to do.""Well, pick up a book and start reading," Laura said and Mark passed her a heavy, leather-bound book with faded writing on the front. "If there is anything even remotely useful in it then it goes on the pile by the staircase, if it's not useful it goes on the pile by the window."There was only one obvious pile: the one by the window. It was stacked high with books that Laura and Mark had looked through and found to be unhelpful.Indianna made her way to a chair and sat down, opening the book. She looked around at the library and swallowed. There were thousands of books. Was it possible that one of them had something that could help them?*Two hours had passed and no progress had been made. Indianna was on her
Indianna forced a smile. "I would never."Greyson chuckled. "Are you not eating any more, sugar?"Indianna stared down at the food on her plate, feeling full. She had taken a lot more food than she could manage to consume. She shook her head.Greyson turned to his sister. "Has she actually eaten a decent breakfast?""Greyson, I've eaten!" Indianna argued.Kirstie rolled her eyes. "Trust your mate, you dick. She ate enough for a whole family.""Great. In that case." Greyson took Indianna's plate from her and sat down between the two girls, tucking into the remains of Indianna's breakfast."We better get organised," Mac said, running his hand along Kirstie's thigh. "We gotta a lot of men to get today.""No rest for the wicked," Kirstie sighed and jumped up from the floor. "Let's go tear down Rogue's empire, lover."Mac chuckled and let Kirstie pull him up from the floor. "Let's do this.""You know," Oscar said, furrowing his eyebrows as he stood up with Kirstie and Max , "you'd think th
DAY ONEIndianna was woken by Kal's snores, they were soft, but she had been struggling to sleep the whole night and now all she could focus on was Kal's heavy breathing. She sighed and turned over, trying to get comfortable which was rather hard with her bump. She was now looking at Greyson as he slept. He seemed so peaceful. His face was so calm and serene, she wished that he didn't have to wake up to the hell they were in.Greyson's eye twitched and Indianna knew that he was no longer asleep. He reached out, wrapping his arms around her and pulling her into his chest, resting his chin on her head and one hand on her stomach. *It's early, sugar, you should be asleep, not perving on me while I sleep.*Indianna chuckled slightly. *Sleep doesn't come easily these days.**Try,* Greyson pleaded. *It's 2am. You need your rest.**So do you.**I'm fine. I'm swapping watch duty with Oscar soon anyway.*The rest of the previous day was spent waiting anxiously for Oscar, Kirstie and Mac to ret
"Please don't call yourself that," Indianna said."It's true. I can't be trusted-""Would a monster feel remorse?" Indianna asked, cutting Tai off. "Do you think Rogue feels remorse over his actions?""That is different-""You are not a monster, Tai," Indianna insisted. "You didn't do what you did on purpose. As you said, you lost control. What happened has happened, it can't be taken back. The only thing we can do now is focus on the present. Tai, will you help us now?"It was a few moments before Tai acknowledged that Indianna had spoken. She pursed her lips and gave one sharp nod. "I need to wash this blood off of me," she said and turned on her heel and disappeared into Indianna's room.Indianna made her way to Greyson's room next. The scent of him surrounded her when she entered and she closed her eyes, caressing her bump. She didn't want to go without him. Indianna swallowed the lump in her throat and changed out of the clothes she had been wearing for dinner. Once she was in sw
"If I'd have known that talking to Brooklyn would change your mind then I would have suggested you do that as soon as you started to disagree with me."Indianna scowled at Greyson who smirked at her as she approached him. "Shut up."Greyson reached out and took Indianna's hand, pulling her towards him. "Thank you," he murmured."I'm still annoyed," Indianna grumbled and looked down at her feet, glaring."Hey." Greyson took Indianna's chin and tilted her head up. "Please don't be. You're keeping yourself and our children safe. That's the most important thing. Don't scowl at me, sugar.""You're important."Greyson smiled and kissed Indianna's forehead affectionately. "God, I love you, woman."Karl suddenly yelled from across the room. "They're here! Fucking hell, you took your time, lads! It's not like we're waiting for a psychopath to come and kill us or anything!""You just can't keep your mouth shut, can you?" Harry groaned, but made his way over to where Kal was now standing, over t
"Just me," Greyson croaked. "You know it's the smart thing to do. There's no point in slaughtering a whole pack.""You think I care about how many people I have control over? Do you think I care about that when my mate is lying dead in my arms!" Rogue roared. He threw Greyson to the side, kicking him onto the floor. "You will all die! I will kill you all for what you have done. None of you will live to see next week." Rogue looked down at Stacey and brushed her hair away from his face, smiling down at her. "Everything I will do to this pack will be for you, my love," he whispered. "I promise, I will make them suffer." He then walked towards the woods, not looking back at the pack. "If any of them try to leave, break their legs! I want them alive, for now!" Was the last thing Rogue said to his men before he disappeared. The rest of his men remained, but they retreated into the trees, out of sight, still there, but watching. The silence that followed next was deafening. No one said a wo
Nothing she could possibly say would help."Your pack killed my mate. SHE'S DEAD BECAUSE OF YOU. OF YOUR PACK! YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE!" His yells echoed in the woods surrounding them. "You..." He whispered. "You are going to pay."Indianna was too stunned to speak. She was vaguely aware of Greyson putting himself between her and Rogue, but that didn't stop Indianna from staring at her brother who looked ferocious. His eyes were dark, teeth bared, face red and he was spitting blood when he spoke. "You, little sister, are going to suffer. Your pathetic mate can't protect you. Your pack. No one. You are no different from our parents. I thought I could change you. Make you into a version of yourself that I could be proud of. Oh, how I was wrong.""J-Jason," Indianna stuttered, her words barely audible. "I didn't want this to happen-""I don't want your fake pity!" He roared and Indianna flinched. "I don't want lies! I want revenge!"*Sugar, you know I will die before I let him get to you.*H
Another chapter so soon? That's very unlike me.I am really enjoying writing again. I feel like I had such a long phase where I wasn't happy with ANYTHING I was writing and I never had the motivation to sit down and try and write anything, however.... That stage is gone, baby.I'm back, and hopefully, I can continue giving you guys the updates that you have so very patiently waited for!I appreciate every single one of you that still reads this, even though it's been nearly 5 years since I started this sequel... (I feel awful that I've made people wait that long and this isn't even finished)But anywayyyyy, enjoy the update, and I hope there will be another one very soon!*For a moment, Indianna thought Tai had attacked her. She was lying on the floor, her head ringing and vision slightly blurred. All she could smell was the metallic scent of blood and she panicked, her hands going to her stomach, feeling herself rapidly for any injuries. Her hands remained dry, but she didn't relax,
"Why?" Rogue taunted. "Can you feel yourself losing control?""Please, please stop," Ace pleaded with Rogue."But don't you want to hear about how she killed her father?""She did not!" Raiden cried, looking the most alive that he had in days. Tai's eyes filled with tears, but she wasn't upset. She was furious. Indianna noticed a shift in her and she glanced at Greyson worriedly."This girl seems to kill anyone she is close with," Rogue said. "I don't want somebody as dangerous as her around my sister or my niece and nephew, especially since she's hidden the truth from the majority of you. It makes you think, is she hiding any more dirty little secrets?"Tai shot up from her seat, seething with rage."Look at her, she is a dangerous little thing, isn't she?""Why are you doing this?" Ace cried. "You're purposely infuriating her!""She needs to leave," Raiden called, standing up and looking at his sister in concern. "You need to get her out of here.""Ace!" Greyson commanded. "You hear
"Tai," Ace whispered, tugging at Tai's arm. "Stop, please.""It's fine. I like that she's got flare. It's interesting," Rogue smiled. "It's not surprising that she's got a few anger issues. She must have so much built up guilt after everything she's done over the years."Tai gripped her knife and fork tightly, her breathing rate starting to increase. "Stop it."Rogue shrugged his shoulders innocently. "I'm just trying to figure out exactly who you are. I know everything about everyone in this pack, it's only fair I know everything about you too. Especially when you're a killer."Tai's knife and fork clattered onto the table. Everyone turned to stare at her in shock, minus Ace, Raiden, Brandon and Rogue."You brought me to dinner with a girl that has killed someone!" Stacey gasped. "Jason-""Sh, my sweet." Jason turned to Stacey, brushing her hair behind her ear. He smiled at her and it was the only genuine smile that Indianna had seen all evening. "I wouldn't let anyone hurt you."Sta
