Poisoned!

Catching a suspect was a bit more difficult than I anticipated. The detectives made it clear that since she didn’t have a direct hand in everything that happened, we only had circumstantial evidence and we needed to ascertain if she really does have white hair or a tattoo on the back of her neck.

I sighed before placing my head in my hands.

“Miss Dare, is something wrong?” my head shot up at the intrusion. I had forgotten that I was in a meeting. I huffed and sat upright allowing the wrinkles on my white chiffon shirt to straighten out.

“No, please continue,” I said and gestured to the man standing behind the wooden podium to keep talking.

I tried to continue listening but I just couldn’t get the thoughts out of my head. The person who wanted me out of the company was in the room and I just needed a way to get them.
