CHAPTER 8

It felt like a Mexican standoff between the vampires and werewolves. Some of the patrols were in wolf form and some weren’t.

“Have they tried anything?” Dad asked.

“No. They’ve just been watching.” Arlo says.

“They’re trying to figure out how big our pack is.” I said.

“They should know by the size of the territory.” Arlo said.

“That doesn’t mean anything. I’ve seen tiny packs with a lot of land.”

“But they would know us. We are a large pack.” Dad said.

And he was right. We are a large pack. But we aren’t the largest in the country and not the scariest. But we were larger than most. So, I guess that put us on their radar. That’s why they were here. To watch us.

“Well, they can only stay out there for so long. Until they burst into flames.” I said.

“Yeah. Thank fuck for sunlight.” Dad said.

“I couldn’t have said it better myself.” I smirked.

“Sunlight isn’t for hours yet.” Arlo reminded us.

“Why aren’t they attacking? This doesn’t make sense.” A warrior said.
