I once again looked up at the ceiling hoping some unseen deity would be watching. Clearly luck was not on my side. This is only day two of this long weekend and I already want to run out the back fucking door screaming. I am not sure what I was thinking when I decided that picking up two extra days was a good idea. That was a poor life choice on my part. Tarryn and Laveena had also picked up these last two days as well. We had a couple of our servers out with the flu. One of our cooks was also out, that is why I was here. There was no one else to cover and since I am the boss it was my responsibility to find coverage and since I was unable to find coverage, I had no choice but to work. This check was going to be good, not that I needed it since my alpha was loaded. “Fuck, this is the busiest I have ever seen it here.” Tarryn groaned. “Seriously? Daniel and Savannah had woken up early this morning. Aerian was still asleep from working last night so we had them shower, eat and relax most of the day. Niven was able to find some coverage so that Aerain could have tonight off. She was exhausted from working these last three nights. I had noticed that the parking lot was full these last three nights. I was glad to see the place full, but I knew my dark princess needed a day off. Niven reminded me that we had decided to make these two nights by reservation only so they should not be as busy. The chef that was supposed to work the previous two nights had gotten sick but was back and was more than happy to take these two nights. I had let my dark princess sleep, but I had come up to check on her a couple of times. This was one of those times. I began to freak out a little when I did not find her in our bed, but when I heard music coming from the bathroom, I knew she must be bathing. She was fully stretched out in our huge jacuzzi tub.

I could feel Ruari’s irritation through our bond. He was becoming more irritated as the meeting went on. I knew this conversation was going to be rough. Savannah had told me part of this story already, but she had not told me who her father was or what pack he was from. I can understand why she did not want anyone to know. While walking around the pack yesterday did make me feel better, I still felt drained. Ruari was at the office today. He was behind in shit because of the weather. I was lounging around the pack house with Sofyia, Navyda and Samaeya. I had told Cora our plans, but she and Mark had made plans. I thought it was sweet that they still had date nights and that he still took her out for daytime dates as well. I hope Ruari and I are like that when we get to be their age. As I turned over, I came in contact with a very warm and soft body. I cracked an eye open to find my dark princess trying to snuggle into me. Aerian snuggled into me even more as I threw an arm over her waist. My hand fell against her still flat stomach. I knew it was too early to feel any movement but that did not stop me from hoping. Locke was lying on his back passed out in our shared head space. He was thoroughly enjoying being this close to our mate. I knew he was beyond ecstatic about the pup. While I had wanted to keep this between Ruari and myself, I was immensely thankful for both of my grandfathers. I was hugging the bag that he had handed me to my chest. I still felt a little nauseous, but I think if I ate something now it would stay down. That being said, my stomach reminded me that I did not get to eat this morning. “I have already linked the kitchen to bring some food to my office. Neither of us really got to eat this morning. Come my dark princess lets go.” Ruari said. There were already two plates of food sitting on Ruari’s desk when we walked in. I had just sat down as the others began to filter in. Ruari pushed a plate in front of me and told me to eat. Thankfully, nothing looked too heavy. I might be hungry, but I am not sure if my stomach could handle anything heavy or rich. I gladly drank some of the tea that was in the bag. It tasted great and helped keep the nausea at bay, so it was a win-win in my book. “Sweetheart, are you okay? You look a little pale.”

I stood there staring at Niro. That was not what I was expecting him to tell us, was that Ulrik and Angus were found dead. I heard the back door slam open, which meant Mark must have linked the boys. I giggled when they walked into the room. All of them had red cheeks and noses from being out in the cold. They looked disheveled, which to me meant they were having fun. Ruari stomped over to me. He looked at me and I knew he probably felt that something was wrong through our bond. “I am fine. I did not want to get in the firing line of you boys, so I began to walk back to the pack house. Mark and Dorain found me. I got a little lightheaded along with a little nauseous. I popped a dissolvable tablet into my mouth which got rid of the nausea.
