Hearing a car pull up, he walks over to the window and notices it. Alex was dressed in a red tie and black shirt with a pair of torn black jeans. Tiffany approaches Alex and hugs him with her sculpted figure, which is twine-thin.
Her waist was tapered, and she had a burnished complexion. A pair of arched eyebrows looked down on sweeping eyelashes with a red dress as she broke into a smile; her beguiling, oyster-white teeth lit up the room. It could jolt you like an electric current when that megawatt smile gave you her full attention.
Filed to perfection, her Venus-red fingernails ran through her black hair. Climbing into the car and went for lunch.
Joshua decided not to sit at home and overthink things; as he showered and got dressed, he got into his car and drove off to a lodge far from home; he then called up a few friends for a party, and they all met up at the lodge.
Driving up to the lodge, he pulls over, has two straws of cocaine with a beer, plays his music, and then arrives to meet his other friends and ex-girlfriend, Casey.
Casey had a comely figure which was stem-thin as she wore ripped black jeans and a pair of sneakers with her longish black hair and red nail and red lipstick with a white jacket. Walking up to Casey, he held her tightly, hugged her, and kissed her on the cheek.
“It's been a while, handsome,” he smiles, looking down at her; “yes, it has. You are looking beautiful as always,” he says as he runs his fingers through her hair. “Thank you for coming” walking up to the rest of his friends, they greet him, and they head off to the pool; opening up the alcohol,
“Won't your neighbors complain over the noise?”
“Are we allowed to party here?”
“Of course we are; let's get this party started?”
Casey looks good in her swimwear. They were a couple back then; he took his bear and went to stand next to her.
“Do you remember when I promised you I won't ever let anyone lay their hands on you?”
“Then nick came into our lives, and you started dating him, and he would beat you up?”
“Yes, I do, Joshua; the only reason I went to him is that you lost control of who you were, and you promised me you would never be like your Dad.”
“Why are you talking about this? Nick died in the hospital; he was ill.”
“Sorry for bringing that up.”
“Joshua, what are you getting at? Why would you bring that up.”
“Well, do you remember his dad blamed me for his death after we got in that fight and said I was why he got sick?”
“Yes, I remember it was quite a big deal between the family, and not to mention, while his parents were grieving, your dad destroyed his dad, making him lose his job and his wife?”
“That's the past, Joshua. I am sure everything is fine.”
Joshua took a sip of his beer. “What happened to his dad? We never saw or heard of him again?” Joshua questioned.
“The last time I heard, his dad got locked up for Exporting drugs from other countries.”
“Do you know if he is still in prison?” Casey shrugs her shoulder; he moves closer to her as she moves away,
“Joshua, what are you doing?”
“I am looking for stability.”
“We both know you stopped loving me. I wish you did love me, but we were just each other's shoulder to cry on.”
Joshua agrees as he holds her tight. ”Let's stay friends; you're right; let's not complicate things.”
She stares at him, wondering if he still loves her cause the way he can stare at her makes her feel he wants to be with her and makes her feel loved. “So, how's your mom doing?”
“She asked about you.”
“Oh really? Does she remember me?” He asks if she has amnesia.
“Yes, she does,”
Casey lets out a faint smile staring into his.
“Joshua? Why did you ask all these questions about Nick? Is that the reason you invited us here? What's the motive, Joshua?”
“Well, something strange happened last night. I think I saw the dad.”
“No way, he's in prison doing time.”
“I won't forget the day he said he would get his revenge; he was furious.”
“We are here to enjoy ourselves; I got something to show you?”
“Let me guess, you got that ring you promised me ages ago?” she jokingly says as they both laugh. He takes her by the hand and leads her to the room where he pulls out a letter in a small brown box with a detailed gold rose on top, reaches out to her neck, removes the chain off her neck with a minor key on that she thought was a pendant, but it turns out to be a key that can unlock the box.
Surprised, she says to him, “you gave me this three years ago when we were dating, and you never mentioned it was to unlock a box; what if I threw it away?” She laughs, removing his chain; he smiles at her. “This is the backup key.”
As they both lie down on the carpet, opening the box, Casey curiously looks at what is in it. He then takes out a letter.“I saved this for you till the right moment.” He then hands the letter to her; she opens it. It’s a map of her backyard.
“What is this?”
“That map provides sufficient money for you to start over and take care of all the medical bills.”
“I am speechless, and I do not know if I should kiss or hug you?”
“A hug would be fine,” he smiles.
Laying down on the carpet, they remind each other of the remarkable things they did together.
Lifting her from the ground, "shall we join the others?”
“Sure,” she smiles as they walk out of the room together. He holds her hand, and they go back downstairs, joining the others. “Welcome back, lovebird,” his friend says as they go to the pool.
Sitting by the window, he stares out, rolling a blunt using the light Of the moon for light in the room as he then smokes his weed staring over at Casey lying with his leg above the sheet.
He went over to the bag and put out his cocaine drawing himself two lines and pulling it up to his nose,
He mixed the cocaine with the weed and smoked it.
He then lays beside Casey, facing her, drifting off to sleep,
There is a tall, dark shadow approaching him moving in closer and closer his eyes are like flame red; as Joshua tries to scream
He sees Nick’s father in front of him, laughing.
Joshua wakes up sweating as he climbs out of bed; it's 5 am as he looks over at Casey.
He leaves the lodge, climbs into the car, takes a beer a driving 60km; suddenly, he bumps into something as the car swerves the windows; he bumps his forehead; feeling light-headed, he climbs out of the car and sees a body in a pool of blood.
He is sitting on his knees, head in his hands, screaming, “why?” As he realizes the consequences of this accident, he will never tell winter he loves her; he will never see the light of day again. I need to dispose of the body as he drags the body into the lake, ensuring nothing leads him to this scene.
He, however, does not see his car's number plate; he probably left it behind as he drives off. This is messed up. He thinks about what he will tell the others because he thought this person was still at the party.
It's Misty; as he realizes the number plate is off and turns around back at the scene, he cannot find the number plate as he searches and searches, getting lighter. I need to go home and find myself an alibi.
Joshua parks his car in the garage, fixes the bumper as he gets under a shower, closes his eyes, and washes the blood off his hand.
It is 9 am as Joshua hears a cry waking up, stretching, and thinking about last night; what a night it was. Joshua thought of her lips over his, her gentle touch wondering if she was also thinking about him; Joshua climbs out of bed, walks to the bathroom, and sees his mom is back with his baby brother, who is crying; walking up to his baby brother, he lifts him gently, not to hurt him as his bones are fragile, kissing him on the cheek he says “I missed you little one.” His Mom and Tiffany all hug in; staring at his family, he realizes how lucky he is to have this fantastic family. “Joshua?” “Yes, mom?” “That dent on your bumper, what happens." He had forgotten about it, “ I drove into a sidewalk.” “You must have driven pretty fast, son, be careful next time; we don’t want to see you again in the hospital.” He walks to the garage and notices spills of blood on the bumper. Closing the door to the garage, he gets a bucket
“How can it be possible? I had placed all my trust in him, and he dares to double-cross me?”Lucifer ordered his men to take Christopher to the dungeon.“Boss, we just got rid of Antonio's second in command.”“Do as I tell you.”“He thinks he could get away with over a quarter of a million dollars worth of my stash and just hand it over to the Russians.”“He needs to be reminded of who he messes with.”Lucifer headed down into the dungeon and put on his leather gloves.“If there is anything in this world I hate most, it is greed.”The dungeon was cold and dark, the temperature below zero; Christopher had already taken a few beatings; it was only about to get worse. His arms were tied with a rope to a ceiling, blood dripped to the concrete ground, his ripped shirt was stained with blood, his eyes and lips were swollen, and his ribs were severely bruis
"This is a pleasant surprise; I was not expecting to see you today; it’s a beautiful day; the sun is up; I thought we should go for a swim.” “I was thinking of a movie,” Joshua replies. “That is an excellent idea than roasting out in the sun; there is this movie I wanted to watch; let's check if it's playing.” “Sure, as long as it is not Romance.” Joshua jokes. “The skirt you are wearing looks stunning.” -The skirt pooled about her like a cascading waterfall, chiffon layering sumptuously. The halterneck top revealed her smooth shoulders and accentuated her neck, which would have made her appear soft as a wisp if not for the detail in leather crisscrossed under her small breasts and cinching her waist. A touch of strength, just enough to give this princess the presence of a warrior.- “My movie is playing.” Winter is grinning like a kid getting a candy bar. Winter takes Joshua’s hand as she places her fingers between his; he is s
The waves, the beautiful, calming waves. Their resonance, slow rolling and crashing, and white caps cresting over and plunging back into the water fully display the beauty and majesty of creation from the shoreline. Larry is standing on the bridge, looking down, and the cars passing by are hooting. “Get off the bridge; your an idiot.” Larry looks back; “I will miss nothing about this world.” Spreading out his arms, he’s about to lean forward; when someone pulls him back, he falls backward. “Are you so weak that the first sign of trouble you decide to end your life?” This is a familiar voice; it's deep. Looking up is the bright sun, and he sees a tall, dark figure standing over him. Holding his hand in front of his eyes to block out the sun, he sees a hand; as he reaches out to the hand, it pulls him up like a feather. “This is Lucifer, Lucifer Morningstar he repeats in his head.” “I knew you would come for me, just not this soon.” Luci
“I Cant speak Arabic.” “You won,t need to,” says Dominion. “I will be talking.” “What assignments have we been assigned.” Larry is about to open the briefcase when Dominion stops him, “the boss does not like business being handled on the ground.” “Oh, why is that?” “Listen, we all know you, an ex-cop; the reason the big boss wanted you is that you good at sniffing out dogs, but if you want to stay in the big boss's good books, you will need to ask fewer questions and do as he tells, you can open up the briefcase when we board the plain.” “Dammit, I knew he was going to do this; I would like to know their assignment.” Says Jamie sitting in a cleaning truck on her headphones. “Can we get any signal up in the sky, Kyle?” “No, unfortunately not, boss.” Rebecca’s phone rings; it’s a call from her husband. “Hey honey, how are you?” She says, acting surprised. “I am good, thanks; I do not have much time, but I
Walking down the staircase, Larry and Dominion are now fully dressed in blue pandora; as they reach the bottom of the staircase, Hassan and his family sit by the table. "Assalamu'alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh. May Allah's peace, mercy, and blessings be with you." “Ahlan wa sahlan.” "How are all you wonderful people? I trust I find you enjoying this lovely day wherever you are.” "Waalaikumsalam Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh" they shake hands. The elderly man says, "yrja alaindimam 'iilayna litanawul all iftar. Please join us for breakfast.” “We accept your offer. May the almighty shine light upon you.” They have prepared, Roast lamb, Oruk (Baked Icli Kofte) from Turkey, Tagine, Biryani, and Nalli Nihari. The men sit around the table eating as two guys by the doorway standing with M16A2 rifles dressed in thawb. When they are done eating, Larry and Dominion sta
Winter has been quiet; she has not spoken to Joshua for two days. He attempts to call her, and her phone is off. Something does not feel right. Joshua gets dressed and walks to her house; no one is outside. Joshua knocks on her door, and there is no answer. He then walks to the window and looks through it. Seeing no one, he returns to the house and grabs his Leather jacket, climbing on his motorbike. She will be with her friends if she is not at home. Joshua knows her friend Dusty, Dusty's Dad, is a low-class drug dealer. Dusty’s dad had never met Joshua and had only heard of Mr. Morningstar. He had not known Mr. Morningstar stayed in the same city; if he had known that, he would have moved his business elsewhere. Arriving at Dusty’s place, it was a grey building of flats; Dusty's flat was on the third floor, where the music played loudly. Joshua walked up to the flat, the door was open, and the flat was filled with drunk addicts and a
“I want as much intel on those two; these are not your average type of soldiers, especially Fred.” “Yes, boss, but for how long we will be here? This place is far from our families, boss.” “Until we can figure out who they are, we made a narrow escape because of your idiocy for bringing them to my place; your screw-up cost the life of my two guards and Malik; I should be sending you out there to clear up the mess you have made. “Boss, we can't find anything on those guys; it's as if they are ghosts; we have pulled the footage from the CCTV to the server, ran a facial recognition, and could find nothing.” Jamil is sitting by the window, reading his white pearl beads. “I have a bad feeling about this; maybe we should have assisted them.” “Boss, how would you like us to proceed?” “Hussain, bring them to me; use all the manpower we have; they have to still be around here.” “They will target us; we should inform the Lucifer of what
It's been quite a journey, and much more is to come. Please be patient cause there are about three more books to follow. What will happen to Joshua and Tiffany? Is Juliet really trustworthy, or will she help her sister Andrea?Let us know in the comments what you think is going to happen. We would love to read your idea.Due to school and work, I need a little time to make the next book. But dont worry this summer, the next book will be uploaded. In the meantime, go read Retrograde or The venom in my system; both are amazing books too.Thank you for reading.
“Juliet, what’s wrong?” Tiffany walks up to her.“Nothing,” says Juliet staring up at Tiffany with tears.“Hey, we are here now for you. You're not alone.”She stands up, wiping her tears. “I am sorry, it's just,” she pauses and faintly smiles.Joshua then walks out of the room to inspect the other room. The other room has a queen-size bed with a balcony. Its wooden floor is shiny, as if it has been recently varnished. The long gold curtains blend in with the floor, and the bed has a white comforter. Looking outside on the balcony, it’s dark, but the fresh smell of the rain has him drawn to the view. He goes inside, asking Juliet if he can get that room.“Sure,” she says, “that was my room before.”“Oh, sorry,” says Joshua, “I never realized. I would not mind taking any room.”“No, no, it's ok,” says Juliet, “I
“My brother is an accurate shooter,” says Tiffany as she drives off.“Those are some lousy firemen,” she says as she pulls over and lets Joshua take over the steering wheel.“So, where are we heading?” says Tiffany to Joshua.Joshua looks for an answer, “where ever the wind blows us.”“There is this cabin in the woods; it's quiet and away from everything. It belonged to my grandmother and has been empty since. It has power. It's not so far from where we are. Perhaps we can head there?” Juliet says.“And what about Andrea she will come looking for us there. It will be risky.”Joshua now stops, pulls over at a garage to refill, and goes inside to get snacks. Juliet goes in with him as Tiffany sits back and watches how well they get along, but Tiffany senses there is something wrong with Juliet. She is hiding something.Joshua comes out with refreshments, lots of swe
“What a mess the storm destroyed everything.”Casey walks around as Joshua and Tiffany arrange new transportation, “I wish I could get hold of Santiago,” he says, “my email has been delivered, and there is still no reply. He goes to the deep web and scrolls through the profile of the best hackers to be his eyes and ears; however, he cannot find anyone.“Hey,” Tiffany says, “let's call Sammy.”“Who is Sammy,” says Casey.“It's my best friend at school.”Casey immediately goes to Facebook and goes under Tiffany's friends to see if she can spot Sammy. There is no information on her. “So,” says Casey, “why are you contacting Sammy? I thought you wanted to get rid of the past.”Tiffany glances at Joshua, “well, Sammy, her dad, and my dad were in business together, and Joshua and I were like kids to him. We grew up in their house prac
Laying towards Joshua, she holds her arm around his waist as Tiffany holds onto Casey for warmth. It's dark and storming outside as Joshua and Casey are asleep. Joshua, who was warm earlier, is now cold. He removed the blanket from him to make sure Casey and Tiffany had enough blankets to keep warm while the dog was lying on the floor. Suddenly there is a bang upstairs, and he wakes up, finding Casey's arm around him. As he moves it off, he stands up, peeking through the window, but it's dark, and the window is covered with snow. He goes upstairs and slowly opens the basement door. He climbs through and closes the door behind him as he notices the wood covering the window is completely broken. The wood holding the house together is scattered as he moves toward the door. Looking outside, it's dark and snowy. Their car is tilted upside down in the middle of the road. How much worst could it get? Going back downstairs, he locks the basement door regretting ever setting foot in S
“It's storming outside the window, gusting through Silent Valley.”“The generator at least works,” says Casey, “it's just for us to go and buy food now.”“I think we should first complete the mission. Andrea will come after us if we do not get to her first.”“You're right,” says Joshua, “let's get this over with.”He arms himself. Casey runs up to the door covering it, “what if you don't come back?”“We have been through the worst,” says Tiffany laughing, “please move aside. It's for your and our safety.”“Hold on," says Casey, running to her bag and taking out a gun.“Wait, hold on,” says Tiffany, “I thought you said you can't use a gun?”“About that, I lied. I did not feel like going out in the cold and knew Joshua could handle himself.”“And what about,” Tiff
Turning around, Joshua bends and grabs the gun twisting the person's arm. When he turns around, more inmates stand there, “there are seven, not six of them. Ghost, how did we miss this one?”“I am not sure, Sir. My system never picked up the seventh one. It's weird, though. My system just crashed.”“Hold on, Ghost. So you knew we were here, I take it?” he says to the guy.The guy refuses to answer as Joshua twists the hand more, “fine,” the guy screams as the other six guys now have their guns facing Joshua and Tiffany. The guy who was interrogating Tiffany now steps forward. “So, you the Joshua we were waiting for? The so-called cold and dangerous Joshua, who killed his own Father. You fools, you fell right into our trap. You see, that girl is not a hostage. Steve untie her,” he laughs, “that is your dear friend Andrea. Let's say she was not dead when she fell,” he smiles. He removed the bag from her head, “she is the brains behind this. Since we knew your girlfriend would kill herse
“Relax,” says Tiffany to Casey, “you will be fine.”Casey grins, “I know I have been through the worst.”Joshua and Casey now head off back to bed. “It’s freezing,” Casey says, “I thought this place was hot.”“Well, it's that time of the year when nighttime is cold and the day is sweltering.”Laying next to Joshua, Casey's heart is racing at his body heat. All she wants to do is just hold him.She then turns to face Joshua, making it as if she is asleep.Tiffany whispers to Joshua, “don't you think we should send her back home? Because we are endangering her life.”Joshua turned on his side, facing Tiffany, “let's talk in the morning. It has been a long day.”“Yes, it has,” she smiles, holding her pillow tight.“I miss mom,” she whispers as her eyes start to water, reflecting on all their fantasti
“No, there is nothing to sell,” Tiffany laughs, “it is just we like our space, and I think it's best you go back home.”Casey glances in the mirror to look at Joshua, hoping he will say something. Joshua glances and looks at the road. “So,” she changes the topic, “Tiffany, who is the lucky guy in your life?”“No one,” Tiffany laughs.“Come on, you can tell me.”“Nothing to tell,” she smiles.“And you, Joshua?”“Oh, he has a girlfriend,” Tiffany lies, “they have been dating for years.”“Ok,” says Casey looking down at her phone.Arriving in a silent valley, they can't help to notice how quiet the place is. There are broken windows and no one in sight. “Why is this place so quiet?” Tiffany says.“Well,” says Casey, “there was a virus outbreak that killed half the
