Alana's POV

I heard a low guttural growl come from behind me and I slowly turned. I almost jumped out of my skin when I saw a pack of wolves, staring hungrily at me. I took small steps backwards, thinking of how to escape the wolves.

"Fuck," I muttered as my leg went into the brooks cold water. I had nowhere to run to anymore so I did the only thing that came to my mind. "Go away." As if understanding my commands, the wolves immediately turned and ran away. I stood, perplexed as I watched them disappear around a corner.

Without wasting more time, I turned and ran the other direction. I didn't care if they had actually understood my command or if it was just luck but I certainly did not want to encounter any wolf again.

I ran for a few minutes when I decided to stop. My head was pounding and the baby within me was kicking hard. The whole place began to spin and I was not sure I would be able to take any other step.
