Chapter 6

Angel leaves the station and walks towards the bus stop when suddenly a car comes and stops in front of her. Angel is frightened and when she looks at the man driving the car she sees Chris waving at her and Angel rolls her eyes.

"Where do you think you're going?" he asks her.

"Where do you think I'm going? I'm going to catch the first bus back homeץ" Angel tells him.

"I'm sorry Angel but boss told me to make sure you get home on time." Chris tells her.

"It's okay, I'll manage on my own," Angel says and continues to walk, but Chris doesn't leave her and almost runs her over with the car.

"Hey..." Angel shouts at him

"I'm sorry Angel, but I'd rather bring you home than find me dead at the hands of Nicholas." Chris says. Angel knows that Nicholas can do. "So are you ready to get in the car and save my ass?" Chris asks her. Angel rolls her eyes and gets into the car.

"Ok I'll go with you just because I'm not a bad person." Angel says and fastens her seat belt.

"I really appreciate it." Chris says and starts driving.

During the whole drive, Angel looks out the window and hopes that this strange moment will end already. But everything changes when she sees Chris change the direction of travel.

"What are you doing? This is not the direction to my house," she tells him.

"You really think Nicholas would want me to help you to your house. He meant for me to help you to his mansion. Because that's your new home from now on." Chris says smiling at her

"I can't run away from him can I?" she says and she nods her head.

"Unfortunately no. From the moment you work under him he will not leave you until your last days if you

know what I mean."

Angel

can't do anything but do what Nicholas

asks of her even though she doesn't want to go back to his mansion and go back to that dark and filthy room but she

knows

it's too

late and she

can't change

it. Because from now on her life is in the hands of Nicholas, Nicholas Romano.

Angel enters the mansion and the doors close behind her. Angel is startled and looks around. The whole place was dark, and the place was empty of people. Angel started walking slowly, slowly towards the living room and she sees a small light coming from the direction of the living room. She walks step by step, and she feels her heart beating faster and faster. When Angel enters the living room, she finds Nicholas sitting there on the armchair, the light from the lamp illuminating only half of his face.

"Welcome back Angel I hope you had a good day actually." Nicholas says and gets up from the chair.

"Why am I here?" Angel asks him.

"Come on your food is getting cold." Nicholas says buttoning up his host and walks past her smiling at her.

"I am not hungry." Angel answers him and Nicholas continues walking towards the dining room.

"To remind you, you under my auspices so I decide. And if I decide you need to eat then you need to eat." Nicholas says and continues walking towards the dining room.

"Ok, I think I'll eat something." Angel says and walks towards the dining room.

In the dining room Angel is sitting at one end of the table with lots of plenty of food

laying infront of her while Nicholas is sitting

on the other step of the table

leaning on his hand and the table in front of him is empty of food.

"Eat." Nicholas tells Angel in a serious voice.

"Why don't you eat?" she asks him.

"I already ate. Now it's your turn to eat."Angel looks at him without saying a word."Start eating." Nicholas tells her again this time in a louder voice. Angel starts eating slowly, slowly from the plate. "We need to talk about your mission."

"task?" Angel answers as she barely manages to swallow the food

"Yes. You forgot you were under my watch." He says looking at her. Even from a distance she can feel him looking into her eyes. Angel manages to swallow, and Nicholas leans back with his hand resting on the arm of the chair. "I need you to bring me a certain document from the detectives." he says and runs his finger over his chin. Angel almost choked on the food.

"A document from the detectives? You know we're not allowed to get information from the detectives." Angel says.

"I know that's why you're going to do it." Nicholas tells her.

"I'm sad, but if I get caught I'll lose my identity." she tells him worriedly.

"That won't happen because Chris will make sure everything works together so you don't have anything to worry about." Nicholas looks at her seriously. Angel knows she has to do what he tells her to do even though she knows she could lose her job.

The next day Angel arrives at the station and

stands in front of the door as she

looks at the sign of the agency and takes a deep breath.

"You

know you have to do it," says the voice behind her

"Did he send you to watch over me?" she asks the voice and Chris comes and stands beside her

"You know how Nicholas works, he always wants to know that everything is connected." Chris says and walks towards the door. "Come on partner we have a lot of work to do."

Angel and Chris enter the station and everyone looks at them. Angel doesn't feel comfortable, she feels her heartbeat getting faster and faster and her breath is suffocating. The throat becomes dry. While Chris walks freely in front of her with a lot of self-confidence.

"Come on partner we doesn't have much time." Chris says looking at Angel and winking at her. Angel continues to walk behind him as she walks slowly, slowly behind him.

Chris and Angel enter the archive room and see a girl sitting at the entrance to the archive.

"I told you it would be hard." Angel whispers

"What are you talking about? Chris says and laughs. "Look what we're doing." Chris straightens his shirt and runs a hand through his hair.

Angel sees Chris going to a girl she sees Chris start flirting with the girl and the girl flirts back to him. She sees the girl giggling and Chris looks at Angel and winks at her.

"This guy really knows how to knock girls at his feet." Angel says to herself and Chris motions for her to go. Angel looks at the girl and sees her flirting with Chris. Angel continues walking and enters the inner room where all the bags are.

Angel enters the room and looks at all the shelves full of bags to the end of the room.

"How do I know what file I need." Angel asks herself.

"Hey babe" Angel hears a voice calling her on the radio. Angel recognizes the voice and knows the voice belongs to none other than Nicholas.

"I knew you were following me." Angel whispers.

"I told you I always saw what you're doing." Nicholas says. "The truth is that it's also very hard not to follow you. A girl like you." Nicholas says hoarsely. Angel feels a shiver go through her body just hearing his voice. Even a kilometer away from her, Nicholas managed to control her emotions.

"Well you're ready to help me instead of just driving me crazy." Angel says and hears Nicholas giggling on the other side.

"I'm glad to hear you're ready for your mission. Of course babe I'm ready to help you." Nicholas says continuing to giggle as Angel turns on her little flashlight and walks towards the shelves.

"Will you stop calling me babe, I'm not your babe." Angel says and continues going through the shelves as she hears Nicholas continue to giggle.

"What am I going to do babe? I enjoy calling you that" Nicholas continues to sting Angel, and she rolls her eyes. "Okay, okay." Nicholas says and takes a long breath. "Look for a file that says 'Andrew Romano." Angel starts looking through the bags and goes by the letters. She reaches the shelf of files that start with the letter A. She goes through the files and finds the file.

"Found." Angel says again and hears Nicholas on the second step of the line gasp. "Angel opens the file and sees the name Andrew Romano. She looks at Andrew's picture and sees the resemblance between Andrew and Nicholas. As Angel continues to read the document, she sees that Andrew was married plus one as she continues to read the document she sees Nicholas' name Appears under the children's heading. “This is your father's file.” Angel says and hears Nicholas gasp again.

"Yes Andrew Romano was my father." Nicholas says as his voice sounds clipped and dull. When Angel turns to the next page she sees a picture where a lot of people are lying on a floor covered in blood.

"Your father..." and before Angel could finish the sentence she heard footsteps behind her.

"Angel what are you doing here." When Angel looked back, she saw Jack standing in the doorway of the room.

Angel freezes in place unable to move or say a word.

"I asked you, Angel, what are you doing here?" Jack asks her again and advances towards her

"Chris, where are you?" Angel hears Nicholas yelling on the walkie-talkie to Chris.
