Dahlia POV.

“Alpha, you have been requested at the Northern border.” I step back from Malachi.

“I have to go.” I say, turning to run towards the Northern border when Malachi stops me.

“Why? Am I coming on too strong? If I am Dah, I will take this at your pace.”

“Malachi, I have to go, please. We will talk about this later, OK?” I kiss his lips quickly before running towards the border. I hear him curse and growl.

“I’m coming with you,” he says as he jogs beside me.

“Ok, but I don’t know what is going on. I have been summoned.” I say with a chuckle, and he grins at me.

“Yeah, right, as if anyone can summon you,” he says, and I scoff.

“Clearly they can, otherwise I wouldn’t be jogging to the Northern border now, would I?” I retort with an eye roll. Whoever this wolf is will be told. I was in the middle of confessing my truth. I was going to accept him. Duty calls, though unfortunate.

I continue jogging, but notice Mal isn’t at my side. I slow down and look at him.

Malakai was poisoned that’s what Mindy his half sister said so whatever is in the poison is still in his system. I think. He never loved Sapphire but he is so broken because of his love for Dahlia he can’t think straight.
