Dahlia POV.Laying here looking at the ceiling, I can’t sleep. I know something is going to happen, but I don’t know what exactly. I grab my phone and see a new message from an unknown number. I sigh and unlock my phone.?: Dah, be ready. He has taken over the other five packs. He is going to attack, so please be ready for him. I’m sorry for how it went down, but please trust me, my love. I will come for you. Give Harrison my love and tell him his daddy will be home soon. I love you Dahlia, always and forever. Mal xx.My breath catches in my throat. All of this is messing with my head. I re-read the message. Rodrick has taken the other five. So that means he has killed the alphas. Fuck.“With each alpha he slays, he will grow more powerful. But he will be no match for us, Dahlia, I promise you.” Celeste says to me. I don’t believe her. Something else is amiss.“He wants the title, not of alpha, but the most powerful of all. He can never take Venom Fang. Even when I do become the alpha
Dahlia POV.The evacuations have begun to get the residents of Venom Fang into the bunkers. I haven’t told anyone what happened between me and Selene or what she did. The fight in me has gone. I have begun tracking The Pure Rogues and I know where they are. The question is, do I leave before tomorrow or suck it up, get my ass kicked and then declare rogue?“We still fight Dah. Don’t give up so easily. Don’t lay down and be submissive. We go out swinging.” I have refused to speak to her. She, like everyone else, has betrayed me. She knew this would happen and didn’t warn me, so she can run back to mommy and fucking stay there. How much more betrayal do I need to withstand before I can be happy? Harrison and I have moved to the packhouse. When the challenge begins, the packhouse will be in lockdown. He will be safe there with the omegas.“Dahlia, where is your head at?” I turn and look at former Luna Lucy. She is kind and a nice person. I smile at her. Since she has been here, she has f
Dahlia POV.Walking out of the packhouse, I ignore the growls of the wolves in front of me as I look at Alpha Rodrick. He looks like shit. But I know his wolf is anything but weak.“Well, it would seem you are here a day early. I would say it was nice to see you again, Alpha Rodrick, but that would be a lie.” I say, and he chuckles as he moves close to me. But I hold my ground, looking at him.“Well, we thought we would come earlier to make sure you were ready.” He says when I look from him to the battalion he has assembled behind him.“Oh, it looks like you are here for more than a simple Alpha ceremony. It looks like you are here for war. Especially with all the wolves you have brought with you. Or am I wrong?” I ask with a smirk on my lips, but deep down, I’m not willing to fight.“Alpha Dahlia. We don’t mean for it to look like we are here for war.” I look from Alpha Rodrick to Elisa as she clings to Malachi.“Oh, I see. I believe my mom told you that if you ever step foot in our
Malachi POV.I stand rooted to the spot in shock and disbelief as Dahlia declares herself rogue and runs into a portal. I look at her as she turns to see the wolves of Venom Fang attack once more. The portal closes and I lose control.Hyde rips wolves open left and right. Not showing any mercy as Orion, Aura and him tackle Jax to the ground. Aura and Orion are ripping him apart when I shift and take a vial from my pocket and open the lid. I move closer and grab his jaws, opening them wider as I dump the contents into his mouth. He growls before he howls and shifts back, screaming in pain.“What have you done?” he coughs up blood and I step back looking at him in disgust.“Wolfsbane and silver nitrate.” When we are all forced to stop. I can’t breathe until I see the mage and the fae step forward. Aura is the only one who isn’t affected, and she tries to attack when she is held in place with magic and she whines and whimpers as the mage uses magic to cause pain on her, forcing her to sh
Dahlia POV.It’s a damn good thing I am a werewolf. Brrr! It’s freezing. I would have died if I were a human alone. I shifted into Celeste as soon as the portal closed. We are in some barren, frozen wasteland. I knew the pure rogues were here somewhere, but didn’t think it would be damn blizzard conditions. We have had to find shelter in a cave to wait the storm out. It is a complete whiteout as the snowstorm and wind howl against the entrance.“Now we wait.” Celeste says to me as we lay there in a ball, keeping warm. Time goes by, slowly. How long has it been? Hours, days? Who knows?“How long do you think this storm will last?” I ask her and she huffs. A puff of warm breath leaves her nostrils, forming a little cloud.“How long is a piece of string? I don’t know, for the hundredth time I. don’t. know! Get some sleep. Hopefully, it will have passed by morning.” Well, I guess she is right.“It hasn’t been the hundredth time that I’ve asked you, so stop snapping at me.” I say to her as
Dahlia POV.Pins and needles rush all over my body as I groan in pain. Heat envelopes me and the fragrant smell of smoke and is that … BBQ? Whatever it is, it fills my nose. My stomach grumbles, embarrassingly loud. But this has to be a dream. Isn’t this wonderful? I’m dreaming of fire and damn BBQ!Voices now fill my ears more like whispers, but I can’t open my eyes, my eyelids are too heavy. So I just lie here. Did I die? No, surely not. If I did, I’m almost certain I would be with Selene and Lycaon in Elysium right now. Not dreaming of a BBQ.“How long had she been out there?” The female voice grows louder as they come near me. The sound of the fire crackles and pops.“Maybe a few hours. She is lucky we found her. Otherwise, she would be dead. Whoever she is, she is strong. She is a fighter.” The other voice, a male, says, and I try to wiggle my fingers to grab their attention. Still, I can’t feel Celeste, so it would seem she has left me to it.“Maybe we should get him. After all,
Malachi POV.The pack isn’t the same after they learnt that Dahlia was defeated and became rogue. Many members believe that the Goddess has forsaken us. Word spread that Selene removed the title from Dahlia and other packs have now set their sights on us as being weak, but we are far from it.The packs of her friends have given their support to us and the Supernatural Council has been called in to establish what we can do about Alpha Rodrick. My eye-witness accounts have helped in the Solar Eclipse pack being sanctioned and they have gone in to check the state of things. But unfortunately, the pack was abandoned. Wolves lay dead and rotting in the streets. Men, woman and even pups as young as Harrison left to rot in the sun.The Supernatural Council enlisted the help of the Hunter’s Organisation to track Rodrick down and to eliminate him, but so far nothing. It has only been a few days since Dahlia’s defeat, and yet he and his most trusted people have vanished into thin air.The lord
Dahlia POV.I blink at Silas, my brain catching up with what is happening.“What the fuck, Silas? Why are you here?” I snap at him, screaming up at his face. He looks down sadly. Was he expecting me to run into his damn arms and all would be forgiven? Ha, no!“Dahlia, I told you I would always be there for you and here I am. If it wasn’t for me, you would be face down, frozen and dead in the snow. Why are you here?” he says to me and I release Griffin’s arm as I glare up at Silas as he raises an amused eyebrow at me.“I was defeated. So much for your best student, huh? I failed and Celeste left me. Selene removed the title from me to save my life. I lost everything because of that fucking title and here I am in the wastelands, searching for the savage one only to be found by you.” I tell him, my chest heaving, as I look him up and down in disgust. My fists clenched painfully at my side.Audible gasps sound out from the rogues that surround us. But I pay them no mind. My gaze is on him
Dahlia POV.It has been six years since I was crowned Alpha of Alpha’s. Not much has changed, though. I have dealt with a few disputes within other packs which were resolved quickly. Venom Fang and Nightshade are prospering under the rule of Malachi and I.Mom and dad are still around and help out when needed, especially when it comes to date night. They love having the pups. Well, I say pups Harrison is now eleven and Annelise is five. They still have a great relationship but boy do they fight something rotten. I gave Harrison the gift of immortality, much to Mal’s happiness. It was always a worry for us.Celeste was the one who said it was possible, so we both gave him a great gift and so now we never have to fear him dying when he is older. The thought of losing him didn’t sit right with us, especially when his sister and father are now immortals.Harrison is still very protective of her, though, and it is cute. It is safe to say that both are gamers, and it drives us mad at times.
Dahlia POV.Walking back into the arena, the area is filled with chatter, and I swear I heard a few alphas placing bets. Cheeky fuckers!I stand in the middle of the arena, waiting for my opponent. When he enters the arena, I watch him as he smirks at me, all cocky. He is wearing shorts and is bare-chested. I look at Mal in the stands and he is looking at me. He mouths I love you and I mouth it back.I turn and look for Silas’s luna but I don’t see her. Where is she?“You won’t find her. I sent her home.” He says as he comes up to me. I look back at him and he smiles sadly at me. Is he having second thoughts about this?“For what it’s worth, Dahlia, I know you aren’t ready for this responsibility.” He says, and I scoff at him and move away from him.“You seem to forget Silas. I have the advantage over you. I am immortal, so this is pointless. I will give you an out this time. So, for the last time, are you sure you want to die here today?” I say over my shoulder and he shakes his head
Malachi POV.Some of the Alpha’s present gasp at what they are seeing when Dahlia shifts. I am always in awe of Celeste. She is beautiful. Her white fur shines and the blue hue sparkles the same as her eyes. The crescent moon on her forehead shines. My heart is in my throat, and Hyde is wanting to intervene by protecting her. But we can’t get involved. She charges with precision, each swipe of her giant paws hitting the mark. Each bite is more deadly than any other. All three try to attack her at once, and we all watch her dodge and retaliate. It’s like a ballet, her movements fluid and strong. She grabs the red wolf, the delta, and snaps his neck. Shaking her head fiercely, coating her pristine white fur red. Dropping him as she is tackled. They both bite and scratch her, but she just stands there and Destinee chuckles.“The size of her, she won’t feel it. Look at her face. She looks bored.” She says and I smile when Celeste rips the brown wolf the gamma off of her and rips his throa
Dahlia POV.Walking into the arena of the Supernatural Council Headquarters. I hold my head high. I am the last to arrive. The place is filled to the rafters with alphas from all over the world. The chatter dies down as I step into the middle of the arena a few feet away from the main podium, where there are five thrones facing me, at the moment they are vacant.I look at the stands and see my family sitting there. Mal looks at me with concern, but I just nod my head at him. There is no point in both of us being nervous. The doors in front of me open and everyone stands up as the members of the Supernatural Council enter the arena. Each one looks at me, and I bow in acknowledgement. Showing them the respect they deserve. They walk up to the side and each stops at their seats. They all sit and motion for the rest in the arena to take theirs, only I am left standing.“We, the Supernatural Council, are here today to preside over two issues. One being the trial and sentencing of the forme
Dahlia POV.It has been a month since little Annelise made her appearance into the world, and everything has been hectic since. But we are in a routine now. Life has been good. Well, that was until this morning when the Supernatural council arrived to speak to me.“We need to prepare you for the title ceremony, Dahlia. We will also be sorting the trial at the same time.” Oh, I nearly forgot about the trial. With everything that has happened, it slipped my mind.“Very well, we will do both at the same time. But the trial should be done first.” I say and they nod in agreement.“When should we do this?” Mal asks from the side and I know he is itching for this to be over with, especially since we found out that it was Rodrick who helped Krystal and Sampson to destroy the packs.“In three day’s time. You will need to come to the Supernatural Council Headquarters. The trial will happen in the arena. All the alphas in the world have been called to attend. Any official challenges will be made
Malachi POV. The bubble burst when her water broke. But as stubborn as Dahlia is, she refused to leave the wedding. Saying she had hours yet. She wasn’t having contractions, so until she does then we will head inside. Everyone present has congratulated us, but I am too focused on my wife, who could go into active labour at any moment. Hyde is going crazy, wanting to take her away, but Celeste has growled in warning a few times. The doctor is here and is monitoring Dahlia. She has told us everything is ready and in place. She is also ready when we are. Dahlia is walking around and I know she is close. I take her hand in mine and she smiles at me. “Anything?” I ask her, and she shakes her head, but she is still smiling. We are mingling and her Alpha team and their Lunas are looking at her in concern the same way as I am. “Ok, baby, I think it’s time we head in.” I say to her and I wait for her to growl, but she nods her head. We have stayed for two hours. “I’m taking her inside.” I
Dahlia POV.The nerves have begun to go haywire. Today is the wedding. I have lost count of how many times I have been sick. Sitting looking like a panda from lack of sleep as my hair is being curled and natural make-up was applied hiding the bags under my eyes, I fidget with my fingers on my lap. Why am I so damn nervous?“Stop, babe, everything will be fine.” Cel sounded tired. Well, I suppose she will be. We only have two weeks before we are due to welcome our pup. Our little princess. I smile at that.“What’s got you so happy?” my mom asks as she watches me in the mirror as Kendra and gran finish making me look more healthy.“That my daughter will be here soon and I finally get to have my happy ever after.” I say and she smiles at me as she nods her head. Her eyes change colour and Aura is now watching.“I can’t believe it. My pup is not only getting married but will be a mommy soon. I can’t wait to see her.” She says, and I chuckle at her. Emotions are high right now.“There you’
Dahlia POV.It has been four days since the incident, and the room has been completely changed. The bed replaced. What should have been a happy occasion was overshadowed by deceit and death. But no matter, we have a couple of things to look forward to. Like the wedding and the birth of our daughter. So here I am sitting in the living room having what gran calls afternoon tea. While we talk about the wedding. I was shocked when mom brought a huge binder filled with wedding ideas.Apparently she has waited for this moment since I was born and so she started working on this. My heart fell out of my ass when she showed me what she had put together. I know she was joking, or maybe only half joking, but still it was sweet and not all her ideas are bad ones.“Here, drink this and you need to eat more.” My gran says as she passes me a glass of peach iced tea and a little plate with finger foods on it. I chuckle as I lean back into the cushions and take small bites and small sips of my drink.
Dahlia POV.Last night was amazing. We made love under the meteor shower and let our wolves do their own thing. They played, they fought and then they too went at it like rabbits. I was grossed out, but I just blocked her out.Waking up this morning under a canopy of leaves, the sunlight flits through the gaps and, for once, I don’t feel anxious about not being in my nest. So I think that is progress. The only thing that is worrying me is getting back up off the forest floor.Malachi chuckles beside me, and I lift my head from his chest and look down at him.“I will help you up,” he says and I nod my head, my cheeks heating slightly that he was inside my head.“I suppose we better make our way back to the packhouse.” He says as he stretches and yawns. I move and sit up. The light catches the ring on my finger. I study it and I smile softly at it.Mal told me last night that the ring was his mothers and that she would have wanted me to have it. I was honoured to have a piece of her wit
