The water welcomes me like a long lost lover. Everything slowed and dimmed as I plunged into the dark, and cold water. I surface quickly, only after I hear a large splash, telling me that he had also jumped in. His chuckle is carefree, the sound of it loosened something in my chest, and I search around for him. under a sliver of moonlight, he bobbed up. His shirt clung to his muscles, leaving nothing to the imagination. Forcing my eyes to his face, I am taken aback by what I see. The man in front of me looked exactly like the man I met. He had a carefree laugh on his face that swallows that his eyes. It wasn’t obvious how small his eyes were until he actually laughed. His chest puffing in and out from his laugh. “It’s not the right context for that word, unless you were trying to never see me ever again.” I say, wanting the conversation to stay this way, nonsense and weightless, like back at the resort. “Really? I thought I nailed it.” He guffawed at his mistake. Now I was the one
We had walked the entire way back to my apartment in silence. Not the awkward type, considering what he said to me earlier. But the kind that spoke volumes. Both of us in our own heads. Inside of my head was the memory of his hands on my shoulders playing in an endless loop. He immediately draped a towel over my head once we entered the apartment, he even ruffled through my closet for a change of clothes, stopping when he found a T shirt I have owned for at least four years, and a short. “Change into these and fast. I don’t want you catching a cold.”Like always, my body obeyed his instructions, I walked into the bathroom, my body flaming hot just thinking about the fact that he was on the other side of the door. I prayed for the door to open-- I left it unlocked, and he would walk in, but he didn’t. The door stayed shut the entire time. Dumping my wet clothes in the laundry basket, I emerged from the bathroom, to find that he too had changed into one of my old T shirts, it was obv
He had never touched me down there. I was certain I would explode the day he tried. The message he sent had me reacting like did touch me. I jumped to my feet, blinking over and over again to make sure I wasn’t dreaming, my over active mind didn’t conjure up a text like this. I read it out loud to myself, and immediately goosebumps covered my skin. “Holy shit. He does want to make us dinner… make dinner for me..” I almost squeal.I jump into action, the kitchen wasn’t dirty, however, Christopher was going to use it, so of course I double clean. Scrubbing every surface till it winked at me like they did in cartoons. By the time I was done, it was almost time. “Shit. shit.” I cuss silently. I still hadn’t put the drinks in ice. I hurriedly do that, and dash into the bathroom. We didn’t use the living room last night, I assume the same would happen tonight. I really should stop assuming. He was in the living room by the time I was out. Dressed in all black this time. My jaw drops an
Nobody could tell you how awkward it gets when you are asked to moan on the spot, because nobody ever does it.I was so self conscious the entire time, the sounds I made did not sound anything pleasant at all. The tips of my ears turned red, and it spread to rest of my body. Maybe that was why he disappeared in the middle of the night without a word. Again.I sigh as my truck rolls to a stop in the parking lot of our team building. I am hesitant to step out of the car this morning. It took everything in me not to stay back home today and feign the flu or something. He had chuckled after I made the first few awkward sounds last night.“Relax yourself, little Alec.”I swallowed a piece of chicken, desperate to do well for him, I ended up sounding like a dying animal. Then he laughed, I made a sound of desperation at the back of my throat. He waved me away. “Did you think about me a lot today?” He asked out of nowhere.“Every second.” I answered without thinking. He held my gaze for s
“What if I get caught?” I bit my lip in worry, eyes on the entrance, watching for the manager, we rarely ever crossed paths personally since there was no reason for that.“But what if you don’t?” He gave me the confident, lazy smirk that, without fail, made my knees weak.Grabbing me by my shoulders, he leaned in to whisper in my ear, “You can do anything little Alec, I believe in you.” Without waiting for my response, he thrusts me into the room they kept the keys to the golf carts. I worked on auto pilot after that, adrenaline fueling me, my movements which would have been stiff moved fluidly. My fingers swiping the keys, and when we rode around in it, cackling and laughing, my heart kept beating crazily inside of my chest. Later, we laid awake in bed, chuckling to ourselves, still high on adrenaline, I asked him,“Why did we have to do that? We could have used your pass.”His big shoulders shrugged, bumping into mine.“Corrupting you is fun.”Then he pulled me to himself, whe
Christopher was right, his brother was willing to do anything and everything. If he knew about my parents, he must have done his research, I wonder what else he found out. I tuck my knees together, I had to be really careful from here out. “Why do you have to cut my team if I don’t do it, you can simply just remove me from the job.” They told me it was all a ploy, and that he wanted to remove Christopher from the company, I had to hear it from him, I needed him to admit it was only because he hated his brother.“Your team barely makes any profit with the rubbish redesigning they do now, the only reason your team is still here is because mine makes enough to cover your losses, and I am done with that. Pull your weight or get cut.” He says this in a razor sharp way that makes me realize this is real life, I was no longer in the cocoon of the resort, real things like this happened every day. His words swim around my head. It would be up to me to save the team from Gunther’s misplac
“How do I mourn what never lived?”The song’s singer must have followed me the entirety of last week, since that was how I felt. I had known him for a total of three days. And it took me three seconds to drown in his eyes, and even less to get me hooked. His rough hands as he peeled my clothes off. The heat of his mouth as he captured my mouth in his. His soft groans as he ordered me to touch him. The feel of him against my hands. I groan out loud. The memories had stirred something down there. I had never felt like this for anybody. My body naturally responded to the curve of his, when we laid in bed together, His large arms around me, we… fit. “This never happened.”It did. My body that shook from thoughts of him reminded me. “Forget me.”How could I possibly? It was the best three days of my life. I was able to be myself for those three days. He laughed at my jokes, completed some of them. He watched me like I was the best thing that ever happened to earth. He listened to
“What do you mean? There must be hundreds of people working here, and you haven’t even checked.” I felt myself get defensive, my voice raising. The receptionist whose name tag read, Elsie, looked right and left nervously, as if looking for help from somewhere.“I have worked here for years, I know the names of everyone, and if you booked an appointment, it must be with a senior executive, none of them have the name Downing.” She licked her lower lip as she explained calmly, as if trying her best not to spook me. Now it was my turn to sweat. It was Shepherd’s Construction, I read all about how it was family owned, which meant the senior executives like she said would be Shepherd’s. “Asides the executives, no Downing at all?” My voice had gotten quieter, the top of my ears felt hot. He had made a comment about my impatience, that small smile accompanying it as his eyes followed me across the room. Elsie looked relieved that she wouldn’t be calling security, and she shook her head.“N

Since I got to know his real name, I haven’t felt the need to do an internet search of him, after all, what better way to do so than to hear from the horses mouth. However, I must admit, I have been curious. Why did he work at the tail end of his own father’s company, when his brother worked at the very top? Why was he comfortable with the scraps? I have seen the inside of three team buildings, and all of them were designed by all of the teams. And without being biased, I could confidently say, our team has the best structure, inside and out. It followed one theme; growth, unity, and togetherness. It was beautiful and deep, like I thought before, if I needed a home, I knew the team to handle it. And after Wes’s expose, my fingers itched to search for him. I had to hitch a ride back with Wes since Christopher had to stay back with the client. I was comfortable waiting, but he wouldn’t hear it. And the ride back, Wes remained silent, as if realizing I still hung by the thread of G
“Turns out, it wasn’t a long drive. Before I could work up the nerve to talk about anything, we had gotten to our destination. While I held on to my seat, fingers squeezing the material of the seat belt, my mind throwing up all images of all the times we were this close. He was perfectly fine, his arms stretched in front of him as he steered the car.He was too calm, like the events of few minutes ago was a figment of my imagination, and there was no plan of meeting tomorrow night. “Here.” He says, pulling me out of my mind. He was turned in his seat, facing me, in his hand a white helmet, obviously brand new. Without waiting for my response, he fit the helmet on my head. Sparks flew from where our skin touch, it was difficult to breath, his hands worked professionally, adjusting and fixing the straps, peering at me when he was done. I hold my breath and wait until he was done, my fingers digging into the seat belt. If I was hard before, I am painfully hard now. In a swift moveme
My heart slows at his declaration. Words stick to the roof of my mouth, along with my tongue. He takes my silence for an act of confirmation, “I guess she doesn’t. I should let her know.”My fingers work fast, grabbing unto his sleeves, in an attempt to get him to stay, he didn’t have to reveal himself to Ash, but that wasn’t what he had in mind. He leans in even closer, dips his mouth beneath my ear, on the sweet spot below my ear, his tongue darts out and wets it. I shiver against him, thankful I held on to him when I did, my grip is stronger on his sleeves, as that is the only thing keeping me standing. His mouth covers the sweet spot, sucking on it. I let out a whimpering sound, one of his many favorites, and he grazes my skin lightly with his teeth in response. My back arched, and I leaned into him, my breathing erratic. I needed him to touch me everywhere, I burned for him.He gives the spot another lick, and then whispers in my ear, “There, all done.” Just before he lean
