Chapter 69

Ariana POV

When I heard him say those words, I couldn't help but let go. Let go of the threatening tears which stay at the rim of my eyes. Why would he say that to me? I pondered my gaze fixated on the direction he had run to.

My head hurts, alongside my heart. I could feel the veins within me clenching against each other in pain. I bit my lower lips, drawing in my breath through my nose. A soft chuckle escaped my mouth.

Ridiculous! My heart repeats these words countless times in my ears. The situation seems ridiculous because, for the past few minutes I was happy and now, I'm sad. Sad because of what alpha Derek had said to me.

"(Aria..." The echoes of my name were resounding in my ears, those were my friend's voice. They were probably calling me over since they couldn't see me anymore.

Even when I had wanted to open my mouth in response to their calling, I couldn't. It was as if my tongue was stuck to my throat, my voice became hitched in my throat.
