Street Rat

After stepping out of the carriage, Amira didn’t waste any time entering the less fortunate areas of towns. They were there to monitor if her orders were followed. Nobody besides Bash and Baltir, who accompanied them, knew of their departure from the palace walls.

At first, Rhys struggled to keep up. He was grimacing and moving oddly in his breeches from the pain of the previous night’s waxing session. Bash and Baltir asked him about his strange behaviour, but there was no way he would tell them about it! Amira snickered from up front; fortunately, she remained quiet even after Bash insisted she told him. Instead, she ran off ahead.

Amira navigated through the narrow streets and back alleys swiftly, leading them through shortcuts and taking them to secure spots where they could get great views of everyone without being seen. Rhys watched himself, crouched behind an unused guard tower, one that should have been in use. But it wasn’t.
