Chapter Seventy Six

Damon's POV

A thump outside of the room woke me up, jolting me from my sleep.

I bolt upright on the bed, flipping over to crouch beside my bed listening for noises.

A louder thump this time accompanied by voices made me move slowly towards the window, trying to get a look at the intruder's faces.

Whoever it was, they were good because I

ached out blindly for the baseball bat I thought I left in my room butⁿⁿ00then I remembered that it was in the living room.

Suddenly, a large crack sounded and I saw that something was tossed into the room, my eyes tracked the object which was rolling towards my bed and at once I realized what it was, my eyes widened and I tried to duck out of the way but I was too late.

A huge boom rocked the room, shattering the windows, the door, and the walls

I was flung sideways from the force of the explosion, hitting my head on the wall as I went.
