Chapter Eighty Four

Noah's POV

I turned in the bed, wishing the pounding noise would subside as I gained consciousness.

I jerked awake, swinging against the bright, early morning rays of the sun shining through the open windows.

The pounding which I had thought to be a figment of my imagination was actually real, and it was happening outside my door.

Zirah twisted in bed in protest as I untangled my body from hers, reluctant to let me go but I had to go see who was banging at the door by this time.

I glanced at the digital clock on the bedside table, the green blinking lights indeed confirming it was way too early for this.

It wasn't even seven yet!

Half annoyed, I slid out of bed and grabbed a robe that was tossed carelessly on the chair, and tied it around my half-naked body before I went to open the door.

On seeing a guard, I closed it shut behind me and stepped out into the hallway.

"Sir." He bowed respectfully to me. "Tyler sent me."

"And?" I peered at him through half-open eyes, wondering the hell
