She withdrew her gaze as she was too lazy to entertain her stupidity.

At home, she found her sudden abundance of free time somewhat uncomfortable.

Her mood had been low for a while now, and she figured that it would do her some good to get out and clear her head. Perhaps she would meet new people on a trip; perhaps that would help her forget Nathaniel quicker.

She made up her mind and bought train tickets for the next day.

She planned to visit a few nearby cities. Nothing too far away, in case she had to rush back to Yara in the hospital.

For a long time, Nikita had been so wrapped up in work that she hadn't seen her friends in ages.

Her bosom friend was Jasmine Locke, a childhood friend with whom she'd shared over 20 years of memories. They were so close that one glance between them was all it took to make out what the other was thinking.
