Chapter 40

Once Nikita stepped down from her position as secretary, Regina no longer bothered hiding her true colors.

While tapping on the screen of her phone, Nikita turned to face her. Her eyes were limpid, yet extremely oppressive.

"Ah, a university student who can't understand the simplest files yet has time to criticize others. Instead of wasting time, why don't you return to the office and try to figure things out on overtime? That way, others won't have to clean up after you."

Regina's face changed instantly. Angrily, she retorted, "Mind your own business! Nathaniel's here; he'll teach me how to do it, of course. I'm not like you—you can't even get a glance from him!"

At this, a smug expression crept onto her face.

Nikita flashed her a smile that didn't reach her eyes. She felt immensely sorry for Regina.

How pathetic it was to be ignorant, incapable, and yet complacent because she had a man who was willing to teach her. How tragic it was that all her worth was pinned on one man.
