Always In My Heart.

I was back in my hometown. With my people, with my family. Yet, it was obvious that it would feel emptier than usual.

I couldn’t believe my mother was gone. Dad told me she fell sick a few days back. No one could really know the true reason behind her falling ill like that and so sudden.

It was like today she caught a fever and the next day, she was gone.

I was there at my mother’s burial. I could see my friends. Our university gave me a few days off. But June and the others had to go back today. Though they were granted to come, visit me on alternative days.

“Hailey?” I peer up at my Dad who was standing right beside me. “Do you want to say something to your mother?” He asked.

I looked around. Everyone’s eyes were fixed on me. I nodded weakly and left my place, walking at the head of my mother’s casket.
