Loki thought the universe was trying to tell her something.
Perhaps she could still work things out with Glen when he finally hears they were having a baby. She knew Glen would be elated about it even if he hated her now. He had been as desperate as she had been too -- maybe even more desperate than her-- for a child. And although their relationship was already sore and completely fallen apart, maybe this child was the universe's gift to help her protect and restore their love life. Deciding to look on the bright side, Loki managed a smile as she rubbed her tummy gently, now aware of the existence of a young life blossoming within her. Her hopes were up again as she prepared dinner for her ex-husband. Even though he had already divorced her, Loki felt it wouldn't be too difficult to tear away some little documents, discuss and sort things out once Glen was back home. 'Lucy would be forced to get lost,' Loki thought, 'once she realizes that her plans to take what wasn't hers had been ruined by the gift of a child.' Her eyes ran over the arrangement of the food on the dining table and Loki heaved a sigh of satisfaction. She adjusted the cutleries once again and nodded slightly. She had prepared his favorite food; spicy pasta and Bolognese. With this, she might earn a few points and set the mood right before delivering the good news to him. She wiped her hands on the apron and took a fast glance at her phone to check the time. It was 9:30pm, Glen would be home soon. In the meantime, she needed to take her bath and put on something enticing. Loki knew she was making too much efforts to win back the man who broke her heart and who probably never loved her, but she wanted to try yet again for as much as she could, especially for the sake of the baby. For one more time, she would try again and erase the possibility of her having any regrets in future. An hour passed, and two, then three more. Loki had just finished heating up the food for the third time and yet, Glen wasn't home. 'He never stayed out this late before so what could be keeping him this long?' She wondered.Well, now he had the freedom to flex out with Lucy in the open, so she couldn't really blame him.Thoughts of calling him crossed her mind but Loki discarded the idea immediately. He might become furious and not even receive her calls.Pacing up and down the exquisite living room while also checking the intercom and waiting at the entrance door for any signs of his return, Loki had now exhausted all the patience capacity in her system. Deciding she would go wait for him outside, she was about to grab a coat to cover herself and head out when she heard the beeping of the door lock outside. He was back!Slightly flustered, she hurried back to the living room to wait for him with her best smile on display. However, the sight that greeted her eyes the moment Glen stepped foot in the living room erased the smile off her face instantly. With his back to her, Glen was locked in an intense passionate moment with none other than Lucy. Somewhat grateful they hadn't noticed her presence, Loki immediately retreated from the living room as tears clouded her eyes.Shutting the bedroom door after her, her hands cupped her mouth to stop the strangled sob that threatened to escape from her throat. What did she expect when she's already been clearly erased from the home? Did she expect him to walk in alone like before, even though she's already an ex-wife?Loki hadn't expected much. She hadn't allowed such thoughts to invade her and ruin her mood when she had confirmed her pregnancy and prepared dinner for him.But she couldn't understand why it hurts this way when she had already seen it before.Hugging her knees to her chest with her back against the bedroom door, Loki buried her face in between her knees and tried to mentally shut out the moans and groans coming from the living room from getting to her, while tears rolled down her cheeks continuously and to her laps. She would endure it just for tonight. For the sake of her child, she would get through tonight.___ The loud kicking against the bedroom door woke Loki up from her not so pleasant sleep. Her heart was at unrest so how could she have enjoyed a peaceful sleep?"Open the damn door, Loki. I know you're in there!" An angry, deep voice yelled."Glen?" Loki wiped her mouth and forced her eyelids open. She stood up instantly and looked around. She had actually fallen asleep on the floor of her ex-matrimonial home!It was morning already; the reflection of the rising sun seeping through the slightly opened windows gave the fact away.Within a few seconds, memories from the previous day's events reoccurred to her and Loki remembered the reason she had stayed back and endured through the night. She hurried to the door and slowly opened it, a slight feeling of uncertainty gripping at her heart. How would he react to her news?Glen's angry face came into view the moment the door parted open. "Why are you still here?! Didn't I warn you yesterday to never show up in my life again?!"Loki hadn't had time to respond before he took hold of her arm and began pulling her roughly out of the room."What are you doing? Let go! You're hurting me!" She yelled at him but he wasn't listening. He finally released her arm the moment they were out of the master bedroom."What stunt do you think you're trying to pull? Preparing my favorite meal for dinner and even daring to sleep over? What right do you think you have to do that? Or have you already forgotten your place after barely twenty four hours? Then I must remind you. Listen, woman. YOU and I are OVER! In fact, there was never an US so better move on with your life right now before I make it miserable for you!""G-Glen I'm..." Loki tried to speak."What? Huh? You are now greedy for more money after almost emptying one of my accounts within a few hours of getting the blank check alimony?"That wasn't her! Damn those bastards Loansharks.Glen had misunderstood."It wasn't... I di...""Why?" Glen interrupted her again. "You've never imagined you could get such a huge amount before, right? So what now? Have you suddenly decided to be a gold digger? Well, that should suit you since it didn't seem there was ever much you could offer anyway. Here's more money for you then," he went ahead to dip his hand in his pant pocket, taking out a wad of newly printed dollar bills and flinging it on her, ignoring the shock in her face and the tears that clouded her eyes.'A gold-digger, really?'Was this really what he thought of her for the past five years? How did he hide such hideous nature from her so well that it escaped her eyes? Or perhaps, she was blinded for the last five years and was only just suddenly regaining sight?Glen was still hurling his despicable words at her but Loki was now lost in the world of her thoughts to hear him.Right there, Lucy showed up from nowhere, clad in nothing other than a skimpy towel. She eyed Loki derisively before cat-walking to Glen and slowly snaking her arms around his waist.Staring at the obvious fake version of herself, Loki immediately felt like gagging. She just couldn't believe the nerve of the bitch."I would tell you again, Loki. Get off your silly dreams and high horses and be gone from my life forever before I call security on you again." She heard Glen said to her. Her misty eyes turned on him once again but this time, he had Lucy pinned against a wall, devouring her lips like a starved bastard. Seeing him like this, Loki regretted falling in love or what she thought was love for the first time since she knew him. All her imaginations and fantasies of even reuniting with him again, went down the drain instantly. Was he really worth it?She blinked back her tears and turned from them, the answer to her question absolutely clear in her mind and guess what? It's a capital NO.Turns out Glen Robertson had always been a perfect scumbag. And Loki knew she would be damned if she didn't make sure to bring him to his knees before her one day.And as she walked away, each step she took away from him seems to sip away every ounce of love she ever harbored for him. Such a man was never fit to father her child and she would make sure of it for life. One thing was certain, and it may take a while but Loki was sure to accomplish vengeance on Glen Robertson someday...Lucy smirked from a window upstairs as she watched Loki walked away from the manor with her luggage behind her. Just then, a black expensive looking car pulled up at the driveway of the manor, right in front of Loki. Seeing this, the smirk on Lucy's face instantly disappeared and her brows creased in curiosity. Glen had said Loki was a 'nobody' so why was she getting into the owner's seat of an expensive car? Lucy couldn't help feeling perturbed by this sight. As the car began driving off the property, she was distracted by Glen's call. "What are you doing there?" He asked as he approached her, bare-chested, a white shirt was in his hand and he seemed like he was getting dressed to go out. Smiling seductively at him, Lucy stealthily lowered the window blind so he wouldn't see anything. She placed a hand around his neck and locked her mouth against his, kissing him passionately. Glen dropped the shirt he was holding to the ground and lifted her off the floor, balancing her around h
The elevator door opened at the top floor of the magnanimous Soft-Life Empire, to reveal a beautiful young woman. Her smile was radiant as she made her way towards the secretary's corner, taking careful steps with the few people with her, to ensure the lovely cake in her hand remained safe."Is he in?" She smiled in question to the young secretary who looked like she's seen a ghost."M-Mrs. Robertson?" Lisa Williams wanted to be sure her eyes weren't playing tricks on her. Loki watched her husband's secretary in amusement. "Is there a problem? Is the chairman not in?" She patiently asked, even though she was certain he should be in.After all, she had helped him get ready for work a few hours earlier, so except he had an emergency meeting outside the company, Glen should be on seat.It was their fifth marriage anniversary today and she's decided to surprise him at the office today, a habit that was unusual of her.Loki was the perfect housewife and Glen had always been comfortable w

She still found it hard to believe. On the afternoon of her fifth wedding anniversary she had signed the divorce papers, ruining what was supposed to be a beautiful memory forever. "Shut up!" One of the men yelled as he slapped her hard on the cheek. He had tattoos all over his hands and was obviously the leader of his little thug clique. "Are you going to keep denying that you don't know where he is?!" Loki spat out blood weakly. She was totally disheveled, her body was already feeble and she was exhausted about life already. These hopeless thugs might as well just kill her since there was no way she could know where her stepbrother disappeared to since the last six months. Earlier, they had interrupted her quiet moment and had forcefully dragged her to a much more secluded and quiet side of the area. They had beaten her up severely and she was currently too weak to even fight back. No matter how many times she tells them she has no idea on Rick's whereabouts, they just wouldn't believe her or were probably acting like they didn't. She found out that Rick had borrowed money from these thugs who masked themselves as loan sharks and he had disappeared wi
It was a little over 8pm in the evening when a black sedan car pulled up at the entrance gate of an exquisite estate in Georgetown. A door opened at the side and Loki weakly stepped out from the car. Staring at the grey-haired older man seated at the owner's side, she hesitated briefly before she walked away. "Ms. Donovan, please wait." The young man who had approached her earlier, said as he went after her, a pair of comfy slippers in his hand. Loki paused and turned to him. She was taken aback when he reached her side and gently lowered the slippers close to her legs. "Please put this on," he said gently. She stared at his gorgeous face before averting her gaze to the man seated in the car. He was looking back at her with an unreadable expression on his face. "Thank you for your concern, but I'm sorry I must decline." She coldly said. "But your feet..." "You don't have to pay me any concern, Mr. Greyson." Loki interrupted, returning her gaze to him.
The changes must have been done by that sly Lucy or Glen's men.Looking at one of the replaced frames with Lucy's image beside Glen, Loki couldn't help but wonder why he had to choose a woman whose face and hair was exactly like hers. If he now hated her as it seems, why was he with her doppelganger? His defense of Lucy being perfect in his eyes didn't make sense to Loki at all. However, within her, Loki had an answer to her own question. And though the answer was clear in her heart, she didn't want to think of it.Removing her gaze from their photo frame, she turned to return to the master bedroom and pack up her things when her eyes caught something familiar in the trashcan nearby.Loki bent down slowly to take a closer look when she discovered a burnt part of her wedding photos with Glen.
