It was a little over 8pm in the evening when a black sedan car pulled up at the entrance gate of an exquisite estate in Georgetown.
A door opened at the side and Loki weakly stepped out from the car. Staring at the grey-haired older man seated at the owner's side, she hesitated briefly before she walked away. "Ms. Donovan, please wait." The young man who had approached her earlier, said as he went after her, a pair of comfy slippers in his hand. Loki paused and turned to him. She was taken aback when he reached her side and gently lowered the slippers close to her legs. "Please put this on," he said gently. She stared at his gorgeous face before averting her gaze to the man seated in the car. He was looking back at her with an unreadable expression on his face. "Thank you for your concern, but I'm sorry I must decline." She coldly said. "But your feet..." "You don't have to pay me any concern, Mr. Greyson." Loki interrupted, returning her gaze to him. The young man by name; Kylo Greyson, shot a brow upwards in a brief surprise before he gave one short nod at her. "Alright if you insist, my lady." He bowed slightly at her and Loki frowned, her brows creasing briefly. She turned around to leave but on second thought, paused. Turning back to him she added, "Its been Ms. Colleen for many years now, not Ms. Donovan. It is way too late for a sudden change of names, don't you agree?" Kylo was stunned by her words. And although it was obvious they came from a place of pain, it was not in his place to interfere in any manner. "My apologies, Ms. Don... Ms. Colleen," he quickly corrected. "I would take my leave now." Loki nodded at him. And when Kylo lowered his tall frame a little in other to retrieve the slippers, in that split second, she felt his scent was familiar in a way. However, she shrugged the thoughts off immediately. Seconds later, she watched as their car slowly drove off. Her gaze lowered to her right hand and her expression clouded at the sight of the business card in it. Why now? Loki blinked back the tears that threatened to spill from her eyes and proceeded on her way back home. An unusual feeling of nausea suddenly overwhelmed her the moment she walked into her matrimonial home. For a moment, Loki wondered if Glen was home and if everything that's happened today would suddenly turn into an unpleasant dream the moment she sees him. Maybe she would wake up immediately and breathe a sigh of relief when she finds herself wrapped in his warm arms. Perhaps if it wasn't a dream, he might be home waiting for her and would apologize for everything and beg for forgiveness the moment he sees her. She couldn't help but allow herself entertain such useless thoughts. Still nauseated, Loki pulled off her shoes at the in-house corridor and slipped on one of the indoor comfy slippers she and Glen usually use when home. However, the moment she stepped into the living area of their dreamy manor, her handbag instantly dropped from her hand to the floor in her shock. At only one glance, she had noticed the huge changes that had occurred in her absence in the manor she had known as home for the last five years. Before she left the house earlier in the day, all her framed photos had been intact in its original position. But now, not just hers but including her photos with Glen were nowhere in sight, not even their wedding photos was spared. Instead, her photos had been replaced with that of Lucy, and that of Glen and Lucy. To any other person who didn't know the truth, it might be easy to deceive them with these photos as they wouldn't even notice any difference. But Loki wasn't stupid right now. Maybe in the past it might have been easy to deceive her since she wasn't aware of Lucy's existence then."Glen!" She screamed, feeling so frustrated. All her hopes for a different reality were now completely dashed. She might as well confront him right away, just this once, if possible. When she received no response, Loki picked up her bag and hurried to the master bedroom. She didn't see any signs of him at home. She dropped her bag on the dresser and immediately noticed the absence of the huge romantic black and white frame of herself and Glen that had been placed on the wall close to the huge king-sized bed. And that too, had been replaced by a new frame of Lucy and Glen. The entire feel and vibe of the manor now, gave off a feeling Loki didn't like. It felt like all her memories had been erased from the home as though she never existed in it before.Once again, tears filled her eyes as memories of her passionate moments with Glen flashed in her mind."You had promised to love me and choose me for all the days of your life, Glen. So what happened to you? What happened to us? Were your vows to me five years ago all a lie too?" Loki sniffed as she used a hand to wipe the tears flowing down her cheeks. Her tears didn't seem to run out at all no matter how much her eyes bled the salty liquid. Her eyes caught sight of her reflection on the vanity mirror and a sigh escaped her lips. Right now, she wouldn't exactly blame anyone who referred her to be an imposter to the supposed Mrs. Robertson. Her long auburn hair wasn't at the beautiful state it had been several hours ago when she had walked into Glen's office. Her siren-shaped golden-brown eyes were swollen and her lips were dry and slightly patched. In general, her appearance wasn't the least bit sightly at the moment. After some moments of checking every aspect of the manor in search of Glen, Loki paused at his study. It was locked and that meant he hadn't come home yet.The changes must have been done by that sly Lucy or Glen's men.Looking at one of the replaced frames with Lucy's image beside Glen, Loki couldn't help but wonder why he had to choose a woman whose face and hair was exactly like hers. If he now hated her as it seems, why was he with her doppelganger? His defense of Lucy being perfect in his eyes didn't make sense to Loki at all. However, within her, Loki had an answer to her own question. And though the answer was clear in her heart, she didn't want to think of it.Removing her gaze from their photo frame, she turned to return to the master bedroom and pack up her things when her eyes caught something familiar in the trashcan nearby.Loki bent down slowly to take a closer look when she discovered a burnt part of her wedding photos with Glen. Stunned into disbelief at the sight, she found out more evidence that showed that all the photos of her with Glen had been burnt to ashes and dumped in the trashcan. Also, she realized that it wa
Loki thought the universe was trying to tell her something. Perhaps she could still work things out with Glen when he finally hears they were having a baby. She knew Glen would be elated about it even if he hated her now. He had been as desperate as she had been too -- maybe even more desperate than her-- for a child. And although their relationship was already sore and completely fallen apart, maybe this child was the universe's gift to help her protect and restore their love life. Deciding to look on the bright side, Loki managed a smile as she rubbed her tummy gently, now aware of the existence of a young life blossoming within her. Her hopes were up again as she prepared dinner for her ex-husband. Even though he had already divorced her, Loki felt it wouldn't be too difficult to tear away some little documents, discuss and sort things out once Glen was back home. 'Lucy would be forced to get lost,' Loki thought, 'once she realizes that her plans to take what w
Lucy smirked from a window upstairs as she watched Loki walked away from the manor with her luggage behind her. Just then, a black expensive looking car pulled up at the driveway of the manor, right in front of Loki. Seeing this, the smirk on Lucy's face instantly disappeared and her brows creased in curiosity. Glen had said Loki was a 'nobody' so why was she getting into the owner's seat of an expensive car? Lucy couldn't help feeling perturbed by this sight. As the car began driving off the property, she was distracted by Glen's call. "What are you doing there?" He asked as he approached her, bare-chested, a white shirt was in his hand and he seemed like he was getting dressed to go out. Smiling seductively at him, Lucy stealthily lowered the window blind so he wouldn't see anything. She placed a hand around his neck and locked her mouth against his, kissing him passionately. Glen dropped the shirt he was holding to the ground and lifted her off the floor, balancing her around h
The elevator door opened at the top floor of the magnanimous Soft-Life Empire, to reveal a beautiful young woman. Her smile was radiant as she made her way towards the secretary's corner, taking careful steps with the few people with her, to ensure the lovely cake in her hand remained safe."Is he in?" She smiled in question to the young secretary who looked like she's seen a ghost."M-Mrs. Robertson?" Lisa Williams wanted to be sure her eyes weren't playing tricks on her. "Shut up!" One of the men yelled as he slapped her hard on the cheek. He had tattoos all over his hands and was obviously the leader of his little thug clique. "Are you going to keep denying that you don't know where he is?!" Loki spat out blood weakly. She was totally disheveled, her body was already feeble and she was exhausted about life already. These hopeless thugs might as well just kill her since there was no way she could know where her stepbrother disappeared to since the last six months. Earlier, they had interrupted her quiet moment and had forcefully dragged her to a much more secluded and quiet side of the area. They had beaten her up severely and she was currently too weak to even fight back. No matter how many times she tells them she has no idea on Rick's whereabouts, they just wouldn't believe her or were probably acting like they didn't. She found out that Rick had borrowed money from these thugs who masked themselves as loan sharks and he had disappeared wi
