31. The Healer

"Will he be okay?" asked Feli. Her eyes continued to watch her employer who was lying weakly on his bed.

The man was still unconscious from when they got out of the elevator an hour ago. One of Jerrald's hands had been fitted with an IV. His nose was fitted with a nasal cannula. Next to Jerrald's bed, there was an oxygen cylinder that was as tall as a nightstand.

"Shouldn't Mr. Mendez be taken to the hospital?" asked Feli again. She had a worried look in her eyes.

It was probably almost ten minutes that she and her employer were trapped in the elevator, Feli couldn't remember. But certainly, it felt like years. Every second, Feli's heart beat faster as Jerrald's breath almost disappeared.

That was the most stressful thing in her life. Feli felt like she was on the verge of death. Whereas the one who was not okay was her employer.
