“I am glad you understand me,” he added, his usual smile on.

He did not wait for her to say anything before he left for his room since he had something important he forgot.

As Olivia watched him walk away, she felt her heart shatter into pieces. She hated the fact that she was feeling this way. She promised herself never to grow fond of any man, let alone fall in love, but she broke that promise before she could realize it.

She hates to admit it, but she was already smitten by Alden.

Her thoughts were short-lived by an incoming call. She unzipped her handbag and brought out her phone before checking the caller ID. It was her secretary, Jane.

She hesitated before picking up the call, wondering why Jane was calling her. She knew Jane never calls unless there is an emergency. She prefers sending texts.

“Jane, what is it?” Her anger was directed at Jane.

“Boss, there is an emergency. You have to come to the company now. Right now,” Jane informed before she hung up on Olivia.
