Olivia waited for a few seconds, imagining how the knife would pierce through her heart, but it didn't. Instead, her attention was captured by the sudden sound that sounded like a stumble.

She opened her eyes slowly, only to see Layla on the floor, bleeding. Next to her was Alden.

She smiled faintly before she stood up. She walked up to Alden, who was about to punch the already injured Layla.

“Stop. Please don't harm her,” she begged.

Even though Layla wanted her to harm her, she doesn't want to reciprocate. She wants Layla to rot in jail this time.

Rather than a few patches and bandages on her skin, spending the remaining days of her life in prison would be much better.

“Why shouldn't I? This bitch almost killed you! What if I wasn't here on time?” He turned to face Olivia before asking. His eyes were red, a reflection of rage in his eyes. “You should have reported to the police.”
