"Did you think I wouldn't recognize you?"

He laughed as he played with a knife in his hand. Then he leaned towards me, who was sitting on the ground, before speaking. "I had an experience with every inch of your body. Such disguise won't work on me. I can recognize you even if you cover your whole face..." and he laughed again.

I gulped my own saliva, looked around, and tried to think of something that would help me get out of this situation. So everything he was uttering earlier was just ridiculous lies. He was just messing around with my feelings. Gladly, I didn't believe him.

I stood up to fight him. I was doing well until he had the chance to push me onto the rosebushes. Thorns pierced me in various parts of my body, causing me to lose focus because of the scruciating pain. As I tried to get up, some thorns are still left in my arms.

He pulled my hair and kicked my stomach, which made me lose so much energy.

"Did you come to kill me, sister?" he said, sounding like a psycho. "After we've taken care of you, this is how you will pay us back?"

"Fuck you," I cussed with a glare that he just laughed at.

"This is exhilarating!" he said while laughing loudly. My eyes kept moving. Finding any possible weapons. "Your body looks more mature now, I wonder..."

My eyes widened as he approached me with the familiar lustful stares. My anxiety was triggered, but I guess the urge to survive always prevails in my body.

Remember what you came here for, Amanda. You came here to prove yourself.

I gave his balls a hard kick when he tried to come closer. His expression turned furious while holding his manhood.

"Boys!" he shouted, and the two men who were with him in the event came inside the greenhouse and ran towards us. I guess, sending them away was also an act. Seeing those monstrous heights and biceps, it felt like this was my time. I know that if a miracle which could set me out from this doom wouldn't occur, Pierre will take me back to his mansion as a corpse. However, I cannot believe that this man cannot handle me alone. If tonight's the night that I'll last draw my breath, my dying wish is to see this cowardly man fucked up in hell.

"Do whatever you want with this bitch. Kill and bury her. Make sure no evidence will remain. That's what he ordered.

These two men are bulky. Their bodies are insane, and not to mention, there are two of them. I can't possibly do something about their physical strength, but I'll resort to my last card to take Lauro with me.

When Lauro turned around, I pulled out the gun that was on my legs. It's a miniature gun disguised as lipstick. I wasn't planning to use this because of the noise that may trigger people, but I have no fear of dying now if I can successfully kill this moron.

"Happy birthday, brother." Without a doubt, I aimed at him and fired. He was shot in the head and instantly lost his life.

My mission is accomplished, but two guns are pointed at my head right now. Frickin' jerks, now what? Am I going to die here?

Just as I was about to give up, the two lumps in front of me fell one after the other. Then I saw Pierre, not quite far from here.

He rushed towards my direction and when he saw my bloody state, his eyes widened. I saw obvious signs of panic in his face.

"Are you shot somewhere?! Damn it. I already warned you earlier! Why are you so stubborn?" he said, annoyed.

"You arrived late, but at least I am still breathing," I said gruffly. I made my voice so soft that he actually thinks that I am dying.

"I looked for you inside that fucking mansion. I didn't find you anywhere. Then... I heard a gunshot, so I rushed in this location. Wait, answer the damn question, Amanda. Were you shot?

I stopped myself from laughing. My body is bathing in my own blood, but not from a gunshot.

"Yes..." I lied. Trying to play a prank.

"Here..." and I touched my right breast.

"W-what?" He looked confused by my actions but still believed me.

He removed the coat and the polo he was wearing.

"What are you doing?" I asked him.

"I will stop the bleeding. I might have to touch your breast, naked. Just so you know..." he said before he approached me and closed our distance.

Is he asking for my permission?

I burst out laughing.

"What the hell, Pierre?" I said, holding my stomach.

He stared at me in awe until he realized what was happening.

"It's a prank. I am bleeding because of the roses' thorns. I am not shot anywhere, darling."

He sat on the ground after hearing those words. He caressed his forehead. He looked stressed as he stared back at me, but somehow I could also feel that he was relieved.

"Damn you," he whispered softly to himself, which I heard.

"Sorry..." I'm trying to remain serious so he can't say that I'm not sincere. "And... thank you for saving me."

"Yeah, well, I thought you'd die because of me. Pierre sighed, and I chuckled.

"Let's go now. We have to treat your wounds." He stood up and picked up his clothes.

"Why would you care if I die?" I asked with sarcasm.

I am actually curious why he's so worried about my life when I am not that special to him.

"Because we're going on a date tomorrow." My jaw fell as I heard him say that. He looked away from me.

"Well, I don't want you to die resenting me for not taking you on a date. You were insisting on it last night," he immediately defended his ego after seeing my awed expression.

"Wait! I didn't ask you on a date!" I contradicted, which is, a matter of fact. I asked because I was only curious, but mow he's trying to make me the one who made the first move. That hurts my feminine pride!

"You kept on asking about my dating opinions and experience. It was obvious, Amanda," he teased me back. It looks like the table has turned faster.

"Pierre!" I said, annoyed.

Pierre only laughed as if he has successfully took his revenge.

It was as if the pain from being thorned was nothing when I smiled because of that.

This is the first time I've seen the ruthless mafia leader smile, and guess what? He looks like a different person when he's grinning and laughing. His chuckles are cute but still manly. Did I already forget that the first time we met, I admitted to myself that he was my crush? Well, because now I am feeling the same gitty feeling I felt that night.

"You have to treat me with an ice cream tomorrow," I pouted.

"Yeah, sure. Anything you want, baby," he smiled with his teeth showing.

I rolled my eyes but smiled afterward. Calling me baby is so cringeworthy, but I actually like it.

He wrapped his coat around my body and carried me in a bridal style, then we went out of the greenhouse. I started babbling about where I wanted to go tomorrow, what I wanted to buy, what I went through tonight, and how I felt after killing Lauro. He just listened to me silently. His eyes were on me, and I could not stop admiring his face again. He still looks gorgeous from this point of view.

I looked away from him, hiding my smile.

Pierre chuckled at how hopeless I looked while carefully putting the gloves on my hands. "We cannot roam everywhere and be romantic as you imagined, Amanda. "Royal Flush…" The huge crowd cheered, half in disdain and half in joy. I plastered a seductive smirk in front of my target. Instead of being annoyed, panicking, or feeling afraid, he smiled softly at me, piercing me like a delicate dagger. The eyes would never lie. There's an indubitable intention in those ethereal emerald eyes and based on my years of experience, this man is boldly showing his interest in me. He wouldn’t even hide it. "You are the first person to beat me in poker, Samantha," he calmly uttered. The people who were watching started to gossip. I can feel their pierced interest in me, but I am more absorbed by the view in front of me. A man whose visuals are too good to be true, my target tonight. The very first mission I took right after my vacation in Paris. Detective Agent Pierce Rossi is a threat to this underground organization and illegal casino. In this field of work, I've been in contact with rich men who are easy to hook with my words and charm, but later on they'll find themselves dead because of their own foolishness. Oftentimes, it irks me that rich men are so easy to manipulate with a woman's body and looks. How can some people be so dumb despite being filthy rich?I picked up the mask that was on the vanity table and then walked towards Pierre's room. I knocked three times, and then I immediately opened the door. I caught him wearing his coat, which was almost the same color as my gown.
